Buffet breakfast was good.
The smell of the room was a little bit odd.
The 2 female staff at the reception were unhelpful. On my last day, i bought 3 bags of pasalubongs (which were heavy so i used both of my hands). The door was next to the reception and both of them were just sitting there, the least they can do is to open the door for me but they did not so i used my back to open it.
Bedside lamp has no bulb.
Extension cord with usb port is available but it was a type b plug so you still need an adapter to use it.
There's a nearby club/bar near the hotel and it was loud at night. The location is not in the main street, but it's easy to find.

The place is nice and decent, the staff and people around are warm and welcoming, they assist your needs, they also accept credit cards, their telephone number is functional as well, which is pretty great since I only looked up for available hotels in Bacolod.

We are in Masskara festival season, and all other hotels rejected us, since they're full, but they were able to accomodate us readily.

We're room 104 and it was decent as well, there are a few insects but it doesn't bother me that much, hairdryer, toiletries are available too, there's a refrigerator and a tv.

They also have a packed breakfast meal which is also good, with free coffee as well.

I'd like to say thank you for the staff and the owner of this hotel. You guys are doing a very great job

the staff were soooooooooo amazing, friendly, courteous and accomodating. Hotel should improve on its cleanliness though. Stains on the bed and stains on the bathroom tiles.. Buffet breakfast is PERFECT. rooms are really nice.

Be careful, cautious and beware once you step out of the hotel. It's neighborhood is soo dangerous. My friend's mobile phone got snatched on the same street. Lots of drunk poor people and CLASSless bars outside. (I meant bars where taxi drivers and construction workers hang out). Funny that when you step out of The Suites, it's a totally different world.

All in all, my stay was very good. Not perfect though because of the cleanliness issue but still, very good. Kudos to the management.

I find myself in Bacolod, Negros (Occidental) Island, a quiet, very clean city that has wide streets and good traffic flow. There is, as with all Philippine Islands, plenty to see. One can feel safe here but still has to watch out for one’s own security. Taxi drivers will take you the long way to your destination, but you won’t see as many beggars on the streets as you would in Cebu or Manila.
While having dinner at Tara in Iloilo, I was given a pamphlet which stated if I ever journeyed to Bacolod, on the island of Negros, I should stay at this new little establishment, The Suites Hotel on Calle Nueva. This little boutique hotel is perfection, from their pricing to their staff (including front office, cooks and housemaids); to the meals they serve in their little bistro.
First to the staff, the ladies on the front guest counter are incredibly helpful as well as stunningly beautiful. They go out of their way to make you feel welcome at The Suites. As they represent your first impression, they present themselves and the hotel in a very good manner.
The air-conditioned rooms are superb and incredibly inexpensive. There is single and double accommodation in different categories (standard and deluxe). The beds are very comfortable, the shower has hot water and amenities are like you would find in a five star establishment.
This is a truly incredible find and the management obviously works very hard with the all staff to ensure continued success of this wonderful establishment. As I have been on the road, so to speak, I am taking a month out to spend here to unwind and relax and enjoy the good company of the locals.
There is a small office of the Bureau of Immigration in Bacolod (near the museum), so there is no need to travel to another island to extend your visa. There is a SM City Mall, a Robinson City Mall and a Gaisano Mall, so shopping, coffee and cakes, and cinemas are readily close to the city showing the latest features. Medical attention and hospitals are of good quality and excellent patient care, should you need it.
Other attractions in Bacolod include the Ruins, a private home bombed during WWII, which serves authentic Italian food and has beautiful grounds, some old homes turned into museums (with a small token entry fee) that are quite remarkable, and of course, Bacolod being part of the Philippines, a Catholic nation, there are plenty of cathedrals and churches to visit and photograph.
So if you are planning to explore any of the more than 7000 Philippine islands make sure you include Bacolod on your itinerary and enjoy the comfort and pleasure of The Suites Hotel.

Considering this as a bed and breakfast hotel, I would say we had a good deal in terms of price and an excellent stay. Booked in as a family of three, their superior suite consists of a queen and double beds. Toiletries, adequate towels and slippers are provided. We had strong hot and cold shower. Room is provided with microwave oven to heat food, water heater, small fridge, cup and saucers (for hot drinks-you'll have to ask for stirers if your'e planning to mix instant coffees or teas) and security box (but ours doesn't work). Aircon was good despite the high temps of June summer and the room we booked was reasonably quiet. Room was clean, no cockroaches, and changed daily (you'll have to hang that door sign, by the way). Check in was quick as well as the check out. Breakfast consists of 3-4 main Filipino dish with rice bundled with salads and fruits. Coffee and juices served as well. Only downside is that it took awhile for the kitchen staff to top-up the meals especially a peak hours around 7am. Location itself is at the heart of the city. Shops, SM mall, church, fastfood centres and central park are within walking distances. Someone has reviewed that the hotel is situated in a dodgy place but we didn''t find anything bad in it except the street has some local bars. People in the locality were friendly as well. You could also hail taxi cabs in a short notice as the hotel sits at the epicentre of main roads. We would be happy to stay again on out next trip.

wonderful small hotel. the rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. there is a comfy couch in the room and many pillows. Service is very friendly, from the room cleaners to the cooks, including the security guards and the receptionists. The place is well maintained, as they seem to pay close attention to feedback. breakfast is good but don't expect a large western-style buffet. Bacon, eggs and toast, plus some filipino dishes. the hotel is quiet but sometimes you might hear the beat of nearby karaoke bars. it rarely lasts and isn't too disturbing. Except this, location is great, next to the main plaza, the cathedral, the main street (Lacson) and a major mall (SM). the street itself might seem a little shady, but it is really not. it's just a regular small street with cheap karaoke bars. just follow basic travelling etiquette (don't flaunt your jewelry) and you'll be ok. overall, if you are looking for a pleasant place to stay in bacolod, this is a very smart choice.

> the service is superb! everyone did so well. very respectful and honest and helpful XOXOXO (i have tested their room services by leaving paper bills and coins. they did well, nothing was lost :D super happy and proud of them)
> my room was superb and immaculate.
> the location is somewhat all right. Its somewhere in between two worlds. the yummy lacson street (calea, boscon, felicias, etc) and the spectacular (manokan coutnry / san sebastian cathedral) etc.
> mostly accessible to both and yeah from here, everything is accesible :D
>super affordable rates and what is more, if you are blessed like me, you'll get a room upgrade! as in! :)

downside was only the water. it smells different. i dont know why.

but all in all, i give them 9.5 /10

The Suites Hotel, Bacolod, Negros (Occidental) is a great little boutique hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful and the place is clean. Sleep quality is not so good as the hotel security lights left on at night and shine quite brightly through the light curtains, so if you like dark rooms; you might want to stay somewhere else. Service charges for laundry and incidentals can be brutal compared to other establishments. Most small hotels and Pensions the Philippines have a cooking charge of 10 to 50 pesos. If you want the hotel cook to fix your own food The Suites Hotel charges 150 peso, which I found quite ludicrous as the most expensive item on their menu is under 200 pesos. And if you want milk in your coffee, instead of dried powdered creamer, a drop of milk will cost you over a dollar. The Suites Hotel laundry services are quite expensive and it is recommended you take your laundry to an outside laundry service where the cost is approximately 30 pesos per kilogram. What would cost you 1000 pesos at the hotel you can get done for less than 200 pesos. As this is the only criticism I have of the establishment I still recommend staying at the Suites. Just be careful of the supercilious charges

The Suites was a life saver as we were running out of places to stay for the Masskara festival. Of the 3 hotels/inns we stayed in (hotel-hopping was the only option due to lack of prior reservations), The Suites was the best! The Public Plaza was walking distance but not so near you can't sleep. Lacson/provincial hall was 7 pesos ride away.

Only downside was that the bathroom was too small and so was the dining/restaurant/lobby area. Room Service charged extra... They had a few newbie staff who didn't know anything when asked, but the tenured guys come to the rescue anyway. But hey, worth it as we were out partying most of the time anyway... and still have restful Zzzz.'s to recharge!

It was a nice quaint hotel. We booked a luxury suite for two nights. The room was clean and has a ref, kettle, safe and even a microwave. The bathroom was clean and has an adequate size. The bed was okay also. The serve buffet breakfast which tastes okay. Small selection only but they only have a small cafe. The staff was really helpful and approachable. Location was near SM, cathedral and Bongbong's. However, it is not in a nice neighborhood. Eateries and beerhouses surround the hotel.

No. This is a very small hotel with only about 20 rooms. No hotels in Bacolod offer airport transportation. None are close to the airport. You can take a taxi for 500 ($11 per car) or a share ride for 150 (4.50 per person). The ride is about 30 minutes.
