La mirada, Sotogrande, and La vista, I guess they are sister company or same owner, I'm not sure, because when we had to eat our breakfast, we need to walk to Sotograndre which is not convenient for me because I stayed there with my family including my grandparents. La mirada is also the farthest hotel from the beach, but at least we had the chance to swim at La vista's beach because if not, we wouldn't book La mirada if it's only pool. However, our stay there was excellent, it may not be perfect but the price is reasonable. The pool is big and clean. The beach there is beyond perfect, I love it so much, but again it's far from the hotel, so I recommend it for couples.
The room I stayed in had two double beds. These beds were not very comfortable as it was very soft. The is a hotel called Vista Mar where you can eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. The caretaker of the room will give vouchers of a 50% off on all food and beverages. It is also where you can go for a swim at the pool or go to the beach.( Please be cautious at the beach as there are sea urchins and small little white colored jellyfishes. Although they do not harm you severely, the can be extremely painful)
Stayed 4nights at La Mirada Residences Airport pick up is courtesy by the owner (Ronald) Airport to La Mirada Residences is about 25mins (depending on traffic) Direction from places: - The nearest supermarket to get your groceries (eg: water, tibits & etc ...) is 5mins drive but walk is about 20mins - Sugbo Mercado Feast Market (45mins - 18km) - Osmena Peak ( 3hrs 24mins - 119km) - Oslob Whale Watch (3hrs 44mins - 145km) - Tumalog Water fall (3hrs 44mins - 145km) (Via Oslob 9mins - 4.3km) - Kawasan Water Fall (3hrs 20mins - 121km) - Balay sa Agta Cave (2hrs 9mins - 85km + 1hr ride from the tourism office to the cave) (Close for maintenance till 2019) Upon Arrival/Departure - Pick up by Ronald’s Sister - Checking in was easy cause it’s done by her - Instructions given was simple & easy - Check out was easy as well as we just need to drop the keys at the front desk (24hrs) The Apartment - Stayed at level 12 - Simple, nicely decorated with sea view, super quiet neighborhood & dark at certain area) (Not advisable to walk alone for ladies or at night) - Balcony is quite small cause the air con main units is there - The living room has window panel which you can look out & enjoyed the view from the inside if you don’t want to stay outside - The Kitchen is well equipped (Note: spot 4 baby cockroaches at the kettle & kitchen table top area) - Sea View can also be viewed from the bedroom nearest to the balcony - Toilet was acceptable clean & with all towel folded & placed on the table top (BYO: toiletries) - Room 2 next to the toilet is smaller but both room consisted of 1 queen size bed, small wardrobe, side table & lamp (Bed firmness: Very firm) Within the compound:- 3 restaurants 2 pools within the apartment is free 1 pool near the beach (100 Peso per pax after discount) to use both the pool & access the beach Beach 🏖 Located at the Vista Mar Beach Resort & Country Club which is less than 3mins walk from the La Mirada Residences Beach was a huge disappointment as there’s no operators offering water spot services (like Thailand or Boracay), only their in house service operator - certain services offered are expensive (eg: Oslob whale watching is PHP 9000 per pax) There’s no sun deck chair with umbrellas for ppl to laze at the beach to suntan House reef was a combination of sandy & rock bottom that offer little sighting of marine life ... (star fishes, 3bat fishes & some other little small fishes but plenty of sea grass) Summary - Ronald is very responsive - He do provide services to the south at additional cost - do check with him - Reasonable price for a decent apartment with sea view - Overall cleanliness is 7.5/10…
What a pathetic excuse for a resort hotel this is. Cockroaches in the bedroom. Tap falling out of wall in bathroom. Thread bare bath towels Virtually nonexistent wifi. So very frustrating. Cats roaming unimpeded in the dining room. Coffee shop, sorry it’s closed. Has the feel of a 1970 soviet workers holiday Half the things on menu not available at the affiliate restaurant 2 doors down. Cigarette smoke stench pervading the corridor outside room The rest of the menu is very unappealing. Restaurant staff while polite and attentive seemed like they were doing work experience. Warm beer available, one needs to have ice bucket. Quiet mode on aircon sounds more like a tornado Paid for two nights but left after one, enough said.
Stayed at la mirada ‘beach resort’ for 3 nights, during our 10 day trip in mactan Cebu and Palawan. It wasn’t what we expected. First of all it is not a beach resort, it’s more of an apartment, if you are planing to spend 2 or 3 nights in town just exploring the city, then i guess it’s ok..We had one bedroom and a spare bed in the living room, which was ok because it was the 3 of us. We were in and out of the place so it was alright because we pretty much needed the shower and bed. It is not a hotel and not a beach resort, we had no check in. A lady left a key for us at the reception and once we wanted to check out she came to pick up the key. It’s definitely more of an apartment. It was clean which is also very important.
