Going to Manila to watch our youngest sister at a competition. We booked for three people online specifying that we will check in at 6am. My eldest sister and I arrived earlier at 4am. Early check in was 200 per head. We shared the room with two other guests us in the upper bunks. Each bunks has it's own socket.... More

The staff at MNL are great - a couple took me out for dinner at a local restaurant. Afterwards, we sat outside with a whole bunch of people from the hostel having drinks and a couple of the guys got the guitar out for some tunes. What proceeded was a wild Manila night out - one that I will never... More

I first came to MNL a just over a year ago and I have been back numerous times since. I have stayed in private rooms, a mixed dorm and a female dorm. All of the rooms are a good size with A/C. There is a communal kitchen with a fridge to keep any purchases in which is always useful. The... More

The place isn't new but the environment and staff is fabulous, we always stay here when transiting. Breakfast is provided and they will also store luggage for a fee, my overall opinion is Value for money :)

Best thing about MNL hostel was the very helpful and knowledgeable staff that helped me plan my day trips and always had good suggestions. Clean beds but not the best bathrooms. Walking distance from a lot of good food!

I study in Manila so I often book hotel rooms for 2 to 4 nights if needed. I was on a very tight budget when I came across this hostel that offers a bed and free breakfast for P600, imagine! They gave me a room for 4 people where I met a renowned Geologist from Czech Republic. I love their... More

The MNL hostel has the best staff i've encountered so far. Real helpful if you have any questions. Spent a couple of nights drinking with them and going out. The hostel itself is nice and cozy, rooms are tidy and the facilities are cleaned often. There's a night/food market just a minute away which serves nice food.

It's located near several malls. Also near a supermarket and night market. The staff is super friendly. Everything is really clean. I wished they upgraded the kitchen and did some small repairs. And maybe small renovation in the restroom section. But stil a awesome place to stay!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
MNL Boutique Hostel is a project of backpackers and well traveled friends that aims to showcase Filipino culture and hospitality in a clean, wholesome and welcoming environment. At MNL, we make sure that when you visit, it's like coming home to an old friend or reconnecting with a family member. We like sharing our stories and we'd also love to hear yours too -- perhaps over a cold bottle of San Miguel Beer.We believe that there is more to Manila than just a jump off point to the islands, that's why we make it a point to give our guests a memorable experience at the hostel. We added a "boutique" to our name because we believe that traveling on a budget does not mean that you have to let go of your comforts. At the same time, art pieces at the hostel depict a story that is truly Filipino -- from pop icons and national heroes to pieces of furniture to hand woven blankets by indigenous tribes.Lastly, we believe that there is nothing more comforting for a traveler in a foreign land than to meet a fellow traveler or to link with a local with the same interests. More than just a place to sleep, this camaraderie is what we build at MNL. ... more   less
