Makati Shangri-La, Manila, garners acclaim for its exceptional service and outstanding amenities, including a luxurious ambiance and an extensive breakfast buffet that guests rave about. While the hotel's atmosphere exudes elegance with a festive flair, some travelers feel the charm is slightly diminished by the dated decor. The spacious and clean rooms are well-received, although updates are suggested by numerous guests. Service experiences vary, with some facing delays, and there's a sentiment of discontent regarding value due to billing issues.

Booked Deluxe Suite and Horizon Club rooms, both rooms with access to Horizon club lounge. It was my mom 78th birthday, Mini cake and some freebies were in the room when we got in. Ms Rose from reservation/front desk was very accommodating and very patient to our requests and last minute changes. The horizon club lounge food and services offer to privilege guests were overflowing and mouthwatering. Ms Jean, the Manager and Ms Sandra were very helpful and attentive to our needs. The staff, namely JD, Argel, Jazz were polite and friendly. Chef Russel from Circles Cafe served us tasty omelet, spiral sausage and slice ham. Several food options breakfast hall. It’s was a great stay at Makati Shangrila.

I had no issues with the room but I was shocked at the varying charges that were put onto my bill that was not disclosed to me. I had booked a weekly rate which did not reflect on my final bill. That same rate also included 10% off dining in hotel which was never communicated how to use it... nor did I see the discount anywhere on my final bill. I am not surprised by the add ons that were permitted by me such hotel transfer or room service. BUT I am surprised that my final room charges changed and was different than what I had booked.

World class service received. Everything is clean. Requests were heard and accommodated. Pool area was very clean and they seem to have temperature regulated as the weather is cool but the water is not so cold. It's room temp. Enjoyable lounge. So many choices in bfast buffet. Easy check-in, fast service.

Checking in is very convenient as one of the staff assisted us until to our room as I travel with my 3 years old daughter. It saved my time from waiting and from my daughter’s boredom if I stay longer in one place🤭. Everything is good especially the staff and the location. Shangrila-la is always the best place to stay.

Dated and in bad need of an upgrade. Not something you expect from a Shangri La brand. Took me more than an hour to settle into my room after I checked in at 2300hrs. Had billing issues with front desk that I am waiting for someone to call me back to resolve

I have booked via email cc'd Hotel Manager (Udo Wittich) and received confirmation for 31 Dec - 1 Jan stay and prepaid the same. The guests included a senior citizen and a person with disability. Upon arrival - Front Desk Manager advised not being to locate my reservation and there is no room available as yet despite checking in late in the afternoon. Furthermore - there are a number of guests who were also awaiting for availability of their rooms. I waited for 2 hours or so until I was provided a temporary "washup" room as I have advised Hotel Manager that I had an evening appointment I needed to attend to. The washup room was located on the 6th floor and with caveat that it did not have a proper TV/entertainment. I was accommodated so can keep our luggage inside and upon return from my appointment will be provided with the actual room. The actual room was on 1624. Upon entering - the room obviously did not have a well maintained floor - with stains all over, no working phone line in the room, no cable TV working despite having a TV system, no bath robes, one side lamp is not working, USB charger on the bed side not working. And more importantly, the requested roll away bed was not present for my senior citizen parent. I had to come down the lobby to ask for these and I was told it is on first come first serve basis. There were some accommodations made but not sufficiently satisfied and happy with the total experience at all.

Worst hotel experience ever!! Booked a suite room for the new year celebration. Waited more than 3 hours just to get our room key! My gosh. Also, once inside the room, no cable access for both TVs. Requested the concierge to fix the cable access and to bring some utensils, took them almost 2 hours and 3 follow ups before somebody tried to fix it. We spent our actual new year celebration with their engineering guy trying to fix our tv. But wait, there’s more. Upon check out, receptionist is insisting that I pay 7,200 pesos without actually consuming it. When asked for a manager, she said all of them are not available. Had to get mad again just for them to remove my balance. Negative 10,000 points for this hotel!! Completely ruined our new year celebration. Should not open if they are not ready yet.

Attended the Countdown Party in the Lounge, there was 11 of us so we paid over 7,000 peso (£1000). This once fantastic hotel reopened in August after the pandemic, The service at this event was awful worst I have experienced for a long time, not necessarily the fault of the young lady serving us as there were way too few staff to cater for the event, however her attitude was not good. Shangri-La knew how many tables/people so with their experience should have had more than enough staff for the event. We were due to start our 4 course meal at 20:00 we finally were served our main course at 22:30 after 3 complaints made on the night, at one point I told them they needed to get help from the staff in Circles restaurant as they were ruining our night. The food was good as were the band but we were let down by the worst awful service.

This Hotel closed for a while and just recently opened. Since I had a good experience in the Horizon Club suites in EDSA Shang, I opted to book for a 2 night stay with my wife in it's Horizon Club. I was disappointed because their food spread in the Horizon lounge is scheduled and few, no ala carte choices of gourmet selections and the Cocktail hour is too short with few choices, unlike in EDSA Shang. The food selection in the Circle breakfast buffet is also not at par with 5 star standards, the spread is akin to a 3 star inn. If not for a very courteous and accommodating staff, this hotel is not worth considering given the choices of good hotels in Makati area.

Our family had a memorable stay at the Mactan suite (2 bedroom specialty suite). (The room was superb with just minor updates needed but did not disappoint) The suite was very spacious and it was a good spacious for our Xmas eve celebration! The butler service (Mark) helped made our 2N/3D stay swift and truly stress free. He (and the team) always made sure that all our needs are attended too. Thank you for your excellent service! The lobby was very festive with its Christmas decor setup and every angle was IGworthy too! It was a great decision to celebrate Christmas holidays at Makati Shangrila!
