Detailed Reviews
My wife and I stayed there one night, on a Saturday night, in room 21, which is a large room with a king size bed. However, the bathroom is very small and there is a small stand-up shower. All who work there are friendly and helpful. The hotel is 1/2 mile from Emerson Park on Lake Owasco, which has boat launches and benches. We saw people fishing there.
The restaurant was closed that night as there was a wedding on the premises and it was in progress on the frontlawn when we checked in. Car were parked along side the driveway, but we were able to find a spot in the lot. With the wedding going on, there was contention for the use of the facility, e.g., the guests stood in the road, so getting out the driveway was difficult and it was crowded in the small entrance way when we checked in. The band was also loud, but they stopped playing at 11 PM and the noise in our room was not that bad.
The Inn provides a self-serve continental breakfast and there were bagels, coffee, juice, yogurt, and hot and cold cereal. Since we asked for fruit, they made us a very nice fruit salad that had a variety of fruit in it, which was a very nice touch. There is free Wi-Fi, they use real keys, and provide soap and shampoo.

Incredible place!! Renovations were done just enough so we can have the comforts of today with the charm of the old times (great bathrooms!!). Everything around shows how much they care about their customers, and they do a great job making us feel at home. Great bed, beautiful and clean bedroom and bathroom. We definitely want to go back in the spring!! I love the fact that the rooms are all different, so you can pick the one that goes better with your personality.

Beth and her staff at Springside made planning my short notice event for a large nunmber of people easy! The team was extremely flexible and willing to help with last minute needs. Food was delicious and service was excellent. I would highly recommend for a special place to hold any celebration.

We were invited to a wedding reception at the Springside Inn.
Beautiful venue w nice grounds and well appointed public spaces.
Catering was mediocre- at best. Salads brought to dining room on ols sheet trays vs serving trays.
We had a filet and a chicken marsala.
Filet was a perfect medium rare, but sauce had no flavor.
And the chicken ( and the reason for a 3 rating) was still raw. Very pink center!

We stayed at the Springside 5 years ago and thought the same as today. Quaint, huge potential but needs work. We have a camp on the lake and we decided to stay at the Inn when our kids descended on our small house with all their friends. Before arriving this trip, my husband said “I hope they upgraded those lumpy mattresses.”Well, they didn’t. The rooms are clean, bathroom renovated but bedding out dated and beds are not “heavenly.” Our meal at Oak and Vine was meh-. We eat here quite often and it is decent, we return for the convenience more so than the food. If there is an event going on, the service is slow and often they are out of menu choices. I hope this is temporary and the after effect of covid—difficulty getting supplies and good help. The staff is more than friendly and helpful. They have a great set up in the back of the property but it doesn’t seem to be open to Inn guests and only for weddings and private events, which is where I believe most of the business is focused. Looks like a great set up for live music. “Continental” breakfast is coffee and cereal/pre-packaged bagels and danish. It’s more like a grab and go. I hope the proprietors consider taking the Inn part of their business from good to great with a few small adjustments like comfortable mattresses, updated comforters/linens and a few more breakfast choices like fresh fruit, fresh baked goods. Despite this feedback, we will continue to go to Oak and Vine as it is so important to support our local proprietors and restaurants.

We enjoyed our stay here. The proprietors, Sean and Beth, gave us a warm welcome and the Inn is a lovely setting with views of the lake. It’s very a very historic place and has a restaurant and a fun bar with lots of different beer on tap. This would be a great place for a wedding or to return to during any season of the year! Local wineries are nearby too.

Stayed for 1 night for our anniversary. Not many other decent options in Auburn, so we thought we would try the Springside Inn. From the time we were taken to the room (Honeymoon suite), I noticed how dated and worn everything was, loud creaky floors throughout the room, and it smelled terribly musty. I was really disappointed! I didn't let on to my wife how disappointed I was in the place, considering it was her choice, but I honestly couldn't wait to leave.

We loved the room and the hospitality. The room was beautiful and very comfortable. The owners and staff were very responsive to questions, even with a lot of activity going on for Easter and a bridal shower. The continental breakfast had quite a few options, including fresh muffins and scones.

Our hosts upgraded us for our anniversary which we so appreciated. The Inn is spotless with great attention to detail. We felt like we took a walk back in time as all the decor resembled a country inn at the turn of the last century. We loved loved loved everything about this inn, including the many events going on in the banquet rooms. The staff was welcoming and the continental breakfast was nice too. We can’t wait to come back!

Our last stop on a mini vacation and did not disappoint us! A delightful Inn with amazing rooms and a warm welcome from the owner. We wished the dining room had been open, however our visit was on Sunday when they are closed. Room was super spacious and comfortable. We appreciated the in-room coffee and continental breakfast. We also enjoyed our visit with the host. We will be sure to come again!
