Our hosts upgraded us for our anniversary which we so appreciated. The Inn is spotless with great attention to detail. We felt like we took a walk back in time as all the decor resembled a country inn at the turn of the last century. We loved loved loved everything about this inn, including the many events going on in the banquet rooms. The staff was welcoming and the continental breakfast was nice too. We can’t wait to come back!
Beth and her staff at Springside made planning my short notice event for a large nunmber of people easy! The team was extremely flexible and willing to help with last minute needs. Food was delicious and service was excellent. I would highly recommend for a special place to hold any celebration.
We enjoyed our stay here. The proprietors, Sean and Beth, gave us a warm welcome and the Inn is a lovely setting with views of the lake. It’s very a very historic place and has a restaurant and a fun bar with lots of different beer on tap. This would be a great place for a wedding or to return to during any season of the year! Local wineries are nearby too.
This is a beautiful Victorian style hotel with beautiful views and a lovely setting along side Owasco Lake. It is run by a lovely couple, Sean and Beth who gave us a very warm welcome. There is lots of history at this hotel and a lot of things to do in the area. There is a very cool bar and we would definitely go back. The next time we return we would like to tour area wineries which Sean said he would help us to coordinate!
We had a very nice stay for 4 nights in room 22. It has been recently renovated. The decor is very nice and the bathroom is spacious. There is a hair dryer under the sink. King size bed. The TV is huge. Free continental breakfast. There is a restaurant and bar, but they are only open a few days a week. Very convenient location with beautiful grounds.
We stayed at the Springside 5 years ago and thought the same as today. Quaint, huge potential but needs work. We have a camp on the lake and we decided to stay at the Inn when our kids descended on our small house with all their friends. Before arriving this trip, my husband said “I hope they upgraded those lumpy mattresses.”Well, they didn’t. The rooms are clean, bathroom renovated but bedding out dated and beds are not “heavenly.” Our meal at Oak and Vine was meh-. We eat here quite often and it is decent, we return for the convenience more so than the food. If there is an event going on, the service is slow and often they are out of menu choices. I hope this is temporary and the after effect of covid—difficulty getting supplies and good help. The staff is more than friendly and helpful. They have a great set up in the back of the property but it doesn’t seem to be open to Inn guests and only for weddings and private events, which is where I believe most of the business is focused. Looks like a great set up for live music. “Continental” breakfast is coffee and cereal/pre-packaged bagels and danish. It’s more like a grab and go. I hope the proprietors consider taking the Inn part of their business from good to great with a few small adjustments like comfortable mattresses, updated comforters/linens and a few more breakfast choices like fresh fruit, fresh baked goods. Despite this feedback, we will continue to go to Oak and Vine as it is so important to support our local proprietors and restaurants. …
We booked our stay last minute while already on the road. The owner greeted us upon arrival and was extremely accommodating. Offered drinks from the bar and gave us wonderful suggestions for local things to check out. We had only planned to stay one night as we were not to our final destination but fell in love and stayed another night. Absolutely looking forward to our next stay.
The Springside inn in Auburn NY is an family owned and operated 7 room inn tucked of the Main Street. What a gem! We arrived after driving from Canada and spending the day in the apple orchards. It was raining buckets and we we were snug as two bugs in a rug. Happened upon a wine tasting in the bar and were included in the sampling. The bartender mixed gin and tonics and we settled in for dinner followed by a lovely sleep in our spacious suite. The inn is reminiscent of what one would expect in New England or upstate NY complete with the charm of an era quickly disappearing with the popularity of the minimalist movement. Our suite, tho decorated probably some time ago, was a timeless testament to French toile, florals, and stripes. Tastefully done with attention to detail. Lovely to see the owner’s son working in the business.…
From arrival to departure, the staff was fantastic! We started at the bar where the bartender Cheryl couldn’t of made a better cocktail. She was very busy with constant questions from staff and guests at the bar but she still made everyone in the bar feel welcomed and as though we were VIP’s - the second night she had a few specialty cocktails for us to look over and we ordered some just because of how great she was and how much we loved her previous suggestions. My wife got one of the recipes and will be telling everyone back home about the awesome cocktail. We were sat at a table outside with a beautiful view and greeted by our server, Eric. He was so friendly and once again, greeted us as if we were the most important guests on the patio. He was attentive and listened, made sure our requests were not only met, but exceeded. The staff were all helping one another and watering all tables, making the experience all the more wonderful. Then the food!!!!! It was absolutely wonderful, from preparation to presentation, the chef executed everything to perfection. When we expressed this, Eric couldn’t of spoke higher and later Cheryl confirmed they had found the right chef for their needs. We hope the entire staff sticks around because we plan to visit again next year and we can’t wait to see them all again. Thank you for the wonderful experience, Springside Inn! We will tell everyone we know to visit for the experience of a lifetime.…
Checked in for one night last week while touring the Finger Lakes wineries and museums. Our room (#23) was spacious and comfortable, it included a beautiful sitting room with tv, fireplace, sofa & chairs. From there you go down a hall to the nicely furnished bedroom that looks out over the back yard where weddings and other events are held. The queen sized poster bed was very comfortable, there are large dressers and closet for storage, and the jacuzzi in the bathroom made for the perfect ending to our day. In the morning a continental breakfast is included. We look forward to returning.
