I have always wanted to try this landmark hotel in Baguio so we did when we had the chance. We had a suite so it was quite spacious and well-appointed. May be they could add some more dinnerware and cutleries in the room. There were only 2 cups and saucers and teaspoons. So if you had your coffee in the morning, you have to wash the soiled dishes to have another cup in the afternoon. There's also no dishwashing liquid.
The room which is located at the 4th flr facing the hotel frontage has a balcony which is a big plus. I am a morning person so I enjoyed having coffee by the balcony while enjoying the view. Unfortunately you can smell the kitchen exhaust from their restaurant at the ground floor. So if you expect to savor the crisp, cool, pine-scented Baguio air, you will get disappointed. Even the hotel lobby at the ground floor smells the same-- the kind of odor that sticks to your clothes when you dine in a resto with poor exhaust system. Too bad because I really like the hotel. May be next time it will be ok. Hope soon.

If you want a real chill Garden View room, check the room and make sure no roof is blocking the view! Otherwise, the Forest Room is better, esp. if you get it at half the price ;) either case, the beds and pillows are supremely comfy, love them ❤️ Love the food/pastries/coffee at Le Chef and the Forest Lodge too!

One of the best things to experience in Baguio is the smell of pine trees. The Manor provides a garden that creates an ambiance of peace and the fresh smell of air. It is well maintained and is supplemented by a dedicated staff. It serves good breakfast . The challenging part is the parking as it is very limited.

The Manor gives you authentic feel of good old Baguio, sans the traffic, pollution, and over population. Very quiet, very calming, very Baguio of before.

Facilities-wise, the hotel is not brand new but it is well maintained. We were there at the height of Typhoon Rosita’s Signal No. 3. However, we did not mind staying indoors as the Baguio atmosphere was what we were after anyway.

What was quite disappointing though was that on the day we were to check out, electricity and water were cut off for more than an hour. We couldn’t do anything as we were in the midst of packing and getting ready to check out. Apparently, even the generators broke down.

What is even more disturbing is that the corridors of the hotel did not have emergency lights! We were walking in pitch black corridors. Eventually the hotel staff placed candles along the corridors but safety-wise, emergency lights should be SOP.

Thank Aprille R

Dear Aprille R, Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience at The Manor at Camp John Hay. I am glad that you were able to relive the authentic feel of Baguio and particularly appreciated the maintenance of our rooms. I would like to apologize for mishap that happened during the onset of typhoon Rosita and I would like to assure you that necessary corrective measures were immediately done to avoid recurrence. It might also interest you to know that emergency lights will be installed the soonest. Thank you once again for your continued support and trust that we will continuously fin ways to serve you better.

Description
The Manor is not only distinguished by its impressive architecture and cozy interiors, but also blessed with an environment that truly sets it apart from other hotels in Baguio City. This four-story structure, More designed to blend neatly with towering pine trees, provides a magnificent view of the Cordillera mountain range. Here, one can literally open windows to cool, fresh air. For a distinct touch, a Baguio stone exterior finish, shingled roofing and tinted glass windows add warm accents to Camp John Hay Manor's cozy, relaxed and luxurious ambiance. Less
