Ok, so you want to get away, really away from it, want quiet, small boutique luxury rooms, service, views and excellent food: this is the spot in Peru if not all of South American. Do their day boat visit of the floating islands, I was at first worried that it would be a typical contrived tourist trek, but even the islanders with their cell phones and solar panels make you truly feel at home & the hotel staff which run the private excursions make it a relaxing day on the lake!
Perfect in every way, the staff is caring and loving, the food is amazing, the daily experiences arranged by the hotel were beautiful, the views are breath taking, cozy and luxury in a very authentic Peruvian cultural and rural area . Thank you!
The all-inclusive package is well-conceived and the hotel is both beautiful and comfortable. There are tons of little extras in the room - free snacks and drinks that we were happy to sample, and the food in the restaurants was delicious. The excursions were great, and the star-gazing talk was fascinating. Definitely worth the cost!!!
Titilaka lodge on the shore of Lake Titicaca is a great place to relax, enjoy good food and drink, and to explore a bit of the lake. Our expedition planner/guide was outstanding. One day, we went to one of the floating reed villages and then to an earth island in the middle of the lake, where we hiked up to the top and had a great lunch. The next day we had a visit to archeological sites nearby and a canoe venture through the reeds to see birds. Food, drinks and service at the lodge are great.
This is quite a bumpy drive out of Puno passing by very typically Peruvian farms and lush allotments nestled along Lake Titicaca. The relais chateaux is set high up on promontory in a delightful setting. The views are magical and the hotel is modern in design and creative interiors add style . We were very disappointed with the food! We had asparagus as a starter and then they produced more again with the next course. We had a very fatty belly of pork in a very sweet membrillio sauce, which we could not eat. The chocolate mousse was again too sweet, however the cheese cake was perfection. Sadly, there was a lack of management to address our issues. We booked this lunch to celebrate a birthday and left disappointed with another expensive bumpy ride back to Puno. This hotel does not qualify for the Relais & Chateaux food brand given our previous experiences of 40 years, worldwide!…
