Detailed Reviews
Run by an old couple with friendly staff, amazing location with excellent view of the lake. Can be difficult to find if arriving at night, or it can be hard communicating the location to a taxi for a ride from Puno.
Although limited English spoken by the staff, they try to help as much possible with transport and service. Account for the 20 sol each ride transport to-from the hotel to Puno.
We were family of four with 2 kids, got an exceptionally large room overlooking the lake. We enjoyed the sunrise from our room, the kids loved it without having to get ready early in the morning.
The entrance path from the main road to the hotel is narrow and unimpressive which can form an initial bad impression of the hotel. But once you enter the hotel, it changes.
Overall good experience with staff, service and wonderful location.

Most guest houses and places for travelers to stay are in Puno. Puno IMHO is a dump. You don't go to Puno to see Puno. You use it as a base for exploring Titicaca and going on the floating islands. This was a great option to get the heck out wretched Puno
I rented a car so staying out of the town was easy. If you don't rent - many collectivo can give you a lift. Property has an excellent view. Even has an Alpaca or two for kids to be diverted from iPhones. No English spoken by all of the staff. Rooms are very clean. Good decor and modern. Beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was pretty good - typical Peruvian fare. They can cook you dinner.
Be aware that we had only 1 instance of nice hot shower here over 2-3 nights.

First and most important: There is a very nice view from the room, terrace and common area. This is if you can disregard the mess just outside the building and the state the building itself is in.
Our room was clean, large, had some good beds and again a nice view. There is free bottled water in the room, which is a big plus.
When all that is said it was quite disapointing that they announced on the webpage that there is a playground, pet lamas/rabbits, fishing pond for children etc. nothing of this was available. The only thing on the hotel area was trash, dirt and old cars. Also the outside area is quite smelly as the water in Lake Titicaca, just outside the Hotel, is brackish and full of algea.
Also there is no alternative place within 10km to eat, so you have to eat at the hotel, which is quite expensive for Puno standard. The breakfast is included and quite good.
The staff at the hotel helped us call our tour operator when late, which we appreciated very much.
If you stay here: Bring food, breath through your nose and enjoy the view.

From our experience, the stay there was and is forgetful. We had the room at the end of the little hall on the corner main floor. The view in the distance was stunning of Titicaca, however close up there were rotting old boats filled with junk. Being that we were on the corner with windows facing the sun, you were awoken at the crack of dawn. The door to our room was paper thin. The bathroom was dirty. The bed room was really unclean. The sheets had been used, as well finding cracker crumbs on the bed cover. My wife and I are not really complainers or high maintenance, however we had a two day booking there, and we bailed from the hotel after the first night. Bring a phrase book, the staff did not speak any English or even attempt to try to communicate with us. We would most definitely not recommend this place.

My boyfriend and I decided to detour to Puno for a day and decided to stay at Yacht Lago for the night. We arrived around 4 in the afternoon and were met by an extremely helpful and friendly staff. When we asked to switch rooms (because we were on a corner and wanted a wider view), we were able to instantly. The room we were placed in was beautiful and had the most amazing view of the lake. Within ten minutes of us arriving we were brought a cold cusquena to share.
Everything of about the accommodations was nice and clean and comfortable, but the real reason this place became a blessing was because the staff and owners (Sr. Julian & Sra. Juliana) took care of us in a away that surpassed any expectation.
We woke to the news that the roads in to town were closed due to protests (since the hotel is about a 10-15 minute drive into the center of Puno). While we waited out the protests I began to get extremely sick (some kind of cliché traveler's sickness combined with my own heartburn ailments) to the point where I was having a hard time thinking of getting out of bed. Around 11 am we were told that we could head in to town (so we packed up our things and assumed we'd be checking out). We headed in to town with Sr. Julian and Sra. Giovanna only to be stopped due to protests (I was also trying my hardest to hold my sickness together)-- Sr. Julian finally found a way to get around the protesters and found an alternate road to take us to the bus station where the plan was to drop off our things so that we could sight see in Puno. It was there that we learned that all busses out of Puno were cancelled due to the protests, and that there would likely be no busses leaving the terminal over the course of the next 48 hours. I began to panic because I was feeling so sick and this set back could potentially interfere with our Machu Picchu plans. At that point Sra. Giovanna walked me to a pharmacy to get me some pills for my stomach, and also made sure to have us stop at a market to purchase some apples for me to eat. We went back to the hotel because I wasn't in any condition to wander the streets of Puno. When we got back to the hotel we went back to the same room we had stayed in the night before and for the next few hours I was in a state of half sleep. The whole time this was going on Sr. Julian, Sra. Giovanna and the staff were calling on all of their resources to see if there was any chance we could make it out of Puno that night or early next morning. To our HUGE surprise, we got news that Sr. Julian was at the bus station investigating, and learned that there would be two busses let out at 10pm. Sr. Julian was able to purchase us the last two tickets on a bus headed to Cusco that night.
There are no words to express the gratitude we feel for the attention and care the staff, Sr. Julian and Sra. Giovanna gave us. They were extremely kind, helpful, and wonderful to talk to. Even after my sick self slept in the room until about 9pm we were not charged any additional amount for the late check out. This place and the people that run it were a true blessing. The whole experience made our traveler's skin thicker, and I could not have imagined staying anywhere else thru it. We have a wild story to share and an wonderful place to recommend.
To Sum Up: The quality of the accommodation is great, and the care and attention to detail from the staff is remarkable. I hope to one day return and have a seamless experience!

nice place just lakeside : you have the lake Titicaca just near the room , from the terrace of the room you have the lake at 5 meters ... beautiful, nice room with large door/windows on the lake, small but confortable bathroom, with hot water, hotel staff is friendly and helpfull, the hotel is far from the road, far from the noise of the cars and the trucks, very quiet hotel to have a good night, the hotel is far from Puno, so you may have a diner at the hotel ( diner not very good ), morning you have a small breakfast ( not very good ) , i recommand this hotel for the lake Titicaca view, from the quiet place , for the confotable room (and if diner and breakfast are not important for you ), good rate quality/price

This hotel looked great in the photos. Once we got there it seemed a little outdated. The room we had was huge!!! Two twin beds and two full size beds. The room had two large windows that overlooked Lake Titicaca.
The staff was excellent and very helpful. They booked a tour for us to the Floating Islands and arranged taxis to and from the hotel.
I can't express enough how kind and helpful they were!
The restaurant was not that great and a little pricey for what you got.
I would still stay here again! The pros definitely outweigh the cons!!

Excellent small family run hotel. Important to know it is on your left with a big sign right after KM 11 marker. If you go to KM 12 its too far. Rooms are outstanding right overlooking the lake and outstanding friendly and personal service. Very affordable transport into Puno.

Pros
-Very clean and spacious rooms, common area
-Great food (Fresh trout for dinner)
-Beautiful view, right on Lake Titicaca
-Offered a relatively inexpensive shuttle to Puno
-Removed from the downtown area, very quiet
-Laundry on site
Cons
-Lots of spiders (We counted 17 at breakfast)
-Difficult to find, particularly if you arrive at night
-Windows not facing the lake face local families, livestock, and boats filled with garbage
-Fair warning, staff did not speak English and did not entertain our poor Spanish
-Far removed from Puno (about a 15 minute drive from the downtown area)
-We paid for our room in advance on Expedia, but they asked us to pay the full amount again at checkout. It was all sorted out, but unnerving that this wasn't already in their system.
Takeaway
It's a nice, relaxing little hotel. We don't regret our time there, but there might be equally inexpensive, nicer places around.
