NUMBER OF ROOMS
I strongly discourage anyone from staying in this hotel. My room had bed bugs and I woke up with bites covering my entire body. When I confronted the staff, no one did anything to help. My money was not refunded, and I believe my room was booked for other travelers to stay. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Do not stay here!
A terrific place in the way to visit Inca places. We get a room in that hotel which is looking like in the middle of jungle. Each couple gets bungalow very spacious and well equipped. Food also excellent and the staff is excellent.
The view out over the water was lovely and a couple of nice cabanas to relax. The overall location was a bit far from the main part of town. The whole area is extremely busy with tourists, boats and many buses. The food in the hotel was very good. The breakfast timing doesn't really accommodate those going on early tours. The rooms were comfortable and very clean with all amenities and free WiFi. The hotel appears to have been in service for some years. Fascinated to watched the many dozens of guinea pigs running around throughout the grounds. Not sure if they weren't a food 'source'
If I had to do Puno again or make a recommendation to others, I would stay downtown. I thought it was a shame to be so far from the town. I would have wanted to explore town a bit more but I was a bit frightened about hailing a cab and knowing that they would get us back to the hotel. The restaurant was good, but pricey, which they can be since you are captive there. I second the sentiments of another traveler about getting the water only from the bar or the room staff. Other hotels through Peru had filtered water available to refill water bottles. That is more environmentally friendly which Peru is trying really hard to be.
I was on a trip booked as part of a package. When I read the description of this hotel, I was excited. But, my experience was a bit disappointing. The hotel is old (appears that they are renovating). Walls are painted concrete. The hotel is on the lakefront which is nice. The hotel is removed from the city center and there are no other options for restaurants nearby. The hotel food was decent but the only option. Breakfast was kind of uninspiring. Also, I wanted to buy some bottles of water and the only option was to go to the bar - how about a little area selling water, soda, snacks, etc and pay at the front desk? This is similar to what you see in many many hotels. Going to the bar was inconvenient and a waiter from the restaurant had to hustle over and help. Overall, I think I'm easy to please but this was disappointing.…
