I stayed here for 2 nights as part of a tour of Peru. The hotel itself is perfectly adequate and a good launching point if you are going to the Uros Islands but it is out of the way of the central part of Puno so you will need to take a cab into the town center. It's a little bit of a trek into the town center so going into town for a meal can be a hassle. We ate dinner at the hotel mostly because we were exhausted at the end of the day, not because the food was all that great, in fact, I'd advise eating outside the hotel if possible. The most amazing thing this about this hotel is the view. Both nights we had the most spectacular view of the moonrise over Lake Titicaca and the Uros Islands. I am not being hyperbolic when I say it took my breath away as it was one of the most stunning things I've ever seen. For two nights in a row my husband and I sat on the bed in peaceful silence for half an hour while the moon did a dance over the horizon. This made every second of the hotel inconveniences worth it. Other than that, the hotel itself wasn't anything worth noting, good or bad.…
Excellent location, lake views and service... The staff service is great and the restaurant includes various local and international options to eat. Rooms are comfortable and very clean... Patio has seating options with lake views. Recommended stay in Puno.
This was the 4th hotel we visited in South America on our holiday. Early evening arrival. Early departure next day. So a very limited review. We had a nice sized room with a walk in shower. Good WiFi. Breakfast decent. View from restaurant truly amazing.
We only stayed one night but I liked this place. Nice room with enormous bed. Lovely location by lake. The food in restaurant was excellent. I would give hotel 4 star rather than 3 star as current rating.
Hotel was clean. A little on the older side. Make sure you explore!! The back was amazing!! Great view of the lake, you’re right up against it so bring bug spray! There’s lots of great seating on the yard. They have two alpacas in that roam the back! If you run into the caregiver he’ll give you veggies to feed them. Or you can just feed them grass. They’re so cute. Beware, they are animals so they may nip or spit on you, so be respectful!! Food was wonderful. Huge portions. I couldn’t finish it. They have large water bottles for sale or you can refill yours at the bar. Service was so wonderful. Restaurant staff were so accommodating. Would definitely go back!
It was a very clean and nice hotel. Would definitely reccomend to families. Nice views of the lake and the staff take great care of you. The drinks are great and the food is also amazing. It’s a 8 minute drive from the center but the hotel orders taxis for you so that’s a plus.
It was a very pleasant stay in this high end hotel (by Puno’s standards). After a poor start (room was not prepared to any kind of standard), the staff were quick to make up for things and helpful afterwards. They even provided oxygen for a family member who was struggling with altitude sickness. The rooms offered an excellent view of Lake Titicaca and It was easy to get in and out of Puno (12 soles taxi). The food was decent, but the coffee was disappointing.
This hotel is all about the view, and really only about the view. The view and the garden out the back really are amazing. The staff at reception didn’t give us a key to the safety deposit box when we arrived, it was a bit of a hassle getting it. The breakfast wasn’t great, the room felt outdated and there was no lift. The bar staff were pretty miserable. It’s also a ten minute cab in to Puno centre which is easy enough to do and pretty cheap.
We had a good stay at Sonesta Posadas. Our rooms were a good size and very comfortable. The hotel is located on the Lake which is lovely if you have time to enjoy it. Conversely this does mean that to go into town for a meal it’s a taxi trip around S10. So was easy enough to do. The only part of the hotel we were not enamoured with was the restaurant. We had dinner one night which was ok, and breakfasts were fine but could have been so much better. Service was sketchy generally, but for breakfasts we didn’t even know ordering eggs was an option (it is!) and a little bit more of a Peru vibe would have been good - easy to add some interesting fruits to the mix, and instead of using the ridiculous plastic laden pots of imported strawberry jam a pot of golden berry jam or something more local (and better for the environment) would have been good. One thing that did surprise us was that no drinking water is provided in rooms at all - if you want any you have to buy it… kind weird!…
We spent three weeks using the hotel as a base. The staff are incredibly friendly, professional and helpful. They arranged for airport pick up and departure. The hotel is by Lake Titicaca and it has its own pier to go on excursions around the lake. The food at the hotel is of excellent quality. The rooms are very comfortable, spacious and clean. The garden is very beautiful with comfortable Cabañas to sit outside and enjoy the view of the lake. There are also alpacas and llamas on the grounds. We highly recommend the hotel.
