A person has to take into account where a hotel is when evaluating it. No hotel in Puerto Maldonado is going to be confused with a luxury Paris hotel. There was much to recommend the Don Carlos. Our room was very clean. I have to say I was concerned that we might find bugs or mold, but it had neither.... More

Stayed at this hotel for about 2 nights, the location was abit far off from the centre, but looks very nice with tropical surroundings. If you're picky with hotel standard I would not recommend it. The place was altogether dirty and under construction, the staff could not speak english very well, internet worked in my room but not outside my... More

I had to stay in Puerto Maldonado for a weeked and got the hotel recommended at the airport. the place was clean and comfortable. The air conditioned saved me from the jungle's stunning heat and the free wi fi helped me a lot. This city is in the middle of the jungle but the staff was very helpful and kind... More

I recently stayed here for one night while spending a few nights in Puerto Maldonado because our first hotel choice was sold out on our first night. For the amount we paid 130 Sol per room it did not really live up to expectations. Everything seemed to be quite worn, the sheets and towels all had holes in them. The... More

THIS HOTEL WAS AWFUL. We only stayed one night, and it was one night to long. (Do your best not to stay in Puerto Maldonado at all, its a depressing town. Instead, look into the EcoLodges on the Rivers. We stayed at EcoAmazonia lodge and it was terrific.) The hotel isn't completed. It's still being worked on everywhere...the pool had... More

No internet service, they have one cellular modem they share among all the guests in the hotel. No hot water for showers, only had one luke warm shower out the 8 showers I took. Room was never made up during my stay, no clean towels or bed made up. Shower taps were stripped so you could not turn the water... More

My recent stay was a pleasant surprise. I was expecting poor accomadations due to the 3 poor reviews posted. I traveled there to train missionaries to build reading eyeglasses. My room was CLEAN. I had room service each day, clean towels and etc. I was allowed to use the internet at no charge and enjoyed the free complimentary breakfast. The... More

Our flight got cancelled and we were forced to stay here. Truly awful. I would NOT recommend it. Definitely, the dirtest hotels I have ever stayed in. Camping would have been a better option. We had 3 different rooms in a 24hour period. The first room- had a bag of chips under the bed and toothpaste on the mirror in... More

I expected more from this place as it is listed in both the Lonely Planet and Fodor's. Evidently the writers for these guides have not been back to check out this dive for a few years. AVOID. This place is on the edge of town, run down, dirty and the staff is as unresponsive as they are apathetic. Beware of... More

It was very cheap on Orbitz, and I had a coupon too, so booked three nights. The photos looked nice. The actual place did not... The property is very run down and needs a lot of work. The pool area seemed especially dirty. The lounge chairs covered in dust and filthy green water in the pool. The room was large... More
