We had a phenomenal few days and are super keen to go back. We only had a short period of time and wanted a quick taste of the Amazon jungle. Cayman Lodge appealed to us because it was simple and the jungle was on our doorstep. We were very fortunate that there were only 2 other people at the lodge...

After some trouble with G adventures and reading some reviews on here, we were skeptical. However from the moment we arrived at their office in puerto maldonado our opinion changed. We had been on an all night bus from Cusco and our guide took us to the main plaza for food (which the company paid for) when they found out...

Had two nights at the lodge, facilities were fine, food was fantastic and I found the staff extremely knowledgable , helpful and attentive. I did however find the owner of the lodge (who is not Peruvian) to be extremely rude to guests, and then was mortified when I walked into the dining area earlier than scheduled to,see her in the...

We were disappointed with Cayman Lodge - we were expecting a small intimate lodge experience but in fact the place is really large and you get huge tour groups. The only eco thing about this lodge is the fact that there is no electricity in the rooms which are very basic but clean. However the rooms are very hot as...

Stayed 2 nights at Cayman Lodge as final part of our Exodus trip (Peru Explorer). Flew from Cusco to Puerto Maldonado then left luggage at office in Puerto Maldonado after repacking jungle essentials into small kitbag. Then had more than an hour bus trip down bumpy mud track to get boat to lodge. Boat trip took 2.5 hours and snack...

We stayed here for 2 nights - picture a holiday camp in 100 degrees with staff who don't want to be there... On arrival in Puerto Maldonado, you are instructed to repack belongings into a small bag - note the 10 min turn around that you are not told about until they are packing you back on to the bus...

We took the boat and arrived at Cayman Lodge to find a lovely place in the jungle. The good and the bad below. The Bad: The water in our room worked very poorly the entire time. When I say poorly, it was almost impossible to have a shower (took 45mins) because it was little more than a trickle. The toilet...

The perfect spot on a bend in the river with fantastic views from the hammocks and other seating areas. Very clean with good food. Made very welcome by the French lady owner (Annie) and had the most informative and enthusiastic guide in Frank, with a great sense of humour too. Very basic, no hot water, no power, rooms separated only...

“Since the rooms are screened in, there is not a ton of privacy. Make sure if you're traveling in a group that you request to be in the same group of rooms. We were in the 100's, which I believe had 4 rooms total. It was off to the side away from the other lodges, and it felt a little more private.”
