Detailed Reviews
Taboga Island has quite a few options for lodging, however for the "best bang for your buck" I recommend Cerrito Tropical. We were treated super kindly by the owners who allowed us to set up for a surprise birthday party for another guest!
The rooms offer an amazing view of the island. If you are into hiking, it's located near the treck to "Cerro Cruz" which offers a fantastic view of the island. Rooms were in excellent condition, and as someone who suffers from allergies, I was very pleasantly surprised to find no dust nor allergens that caused a reaction. Looking forward to my next stay!

We were very excited to come to this property as per the website pictures, reviews and that the owner, Cynthia, is a Canadian, like us. The pictures on the website are mostly what is factual, however our room was not at all acceptable . It was very dark; bed was uncomfortable; there were only four hooks to hang our clothes - no closet, no coat hangers; no dresser; no vanity or anywhere to put our toiletries; hand marks on the walls; cracked tiles in the shower; no light in the vanity area; toilet was not cleaned properly, and NO MAID service to clean after we checked in and we were there for two overnights. Our room key was left in the office everyday, so there was no excuse for the maid not to clean. The overall cleanliness of the room was average. There are no toiletries supplied in the room except for toilet paper and hand soap at the vanity. The toilet seat was the wrong seat for the toilet that it overlapped the toilet base and was not a proper fit.

Cerrito Tropical Eco Lodge provided a wonderful escape on Isla Taboga. The lodge itself is nestled on a quiet hillside, offering a serene atmosphere with the added bonus of gorgeous ocean views. The plunge pool was a great place to cool off after exploring the island, and the rooms were comfortable and clean.
What really made our stay memorable however, was the exceptional service provided by Vicky. Her attention to detail was unmatched. From making excellent pina coladas accompanied by the song, to arranging delicious meals delivered from their beachside restaurant, Calaloo, Vicky ensured our every need was met. She even helped us navigate some local activities, offering helpful suggestions and insider tips. She really knew the are and even that the refrigerator "sings" when closed.
While we enjoyed our stay and our host Vicky it should be noted that there really isn't anything obvious that this place is "eco", seems a little misleading for folks that want that experience. Now if "eco" refers to economical then I would say the price was fair for the level of room provided. As such I would recommend this quiet getaway for most.

My partner and I stayed here for a few nights while visiting Taboga island. The proprietors, Hiddo and Cynthia are lovely! Very accommodating, excellent knowledge of the island, and they run a delicious restaurant down by the beach as well that we went to dinner at every night. If we needed anything beyond the basics, they were always willing to work something out with enough heads up.
This is not a luxury resort experience, but it is a lovely and affordable place to take in Taboga. The rooms were totally fine, A/C was perfectly cold, shower was fine but no great shakes, but if you're staying at an eco lodge and expecting more, that's on you - this delivers as a fantastic eco lodge!
Breakfasts were SO tasty! The pool is teeny tiny and very chilly, which was perfect for the hot days. The hammocks are wonderful places to relax or nap.
Great place, great people, highly recommended!

We loved this hotel! It was the last stop of our 10 day visit to Panama. Our hosts, Cynthia and Hiddo were very helpful. We upgraded to the suite and had a wonderful view of the bay. The plunge pool was very refreshing. We had Cynthia's awesome pizza one night, delish! Cold drinks were offered to us as soon as we checked in. Hiddo prepared a lovely breakfast for us on our last day. I highly recommend the Cerrito Tropical Eco Lodge.

I truly enjoyed my stay here and wished it would have been longer. Very friendly and helpful staff, welcoming owners and amazing grounds made for a wonderful stay and great base to explore the Island. Great views, very walk-able, even the small hill up to it. But rides can be arranged too if needed.

A cozy and peaceful place. It has access to a swimming pool, with sea views. Likewise, you can access the beach just a few minutes away.
It is a safe place even at night.
Vicky is a good host and Rubén is also super attentive.

The La Palma apartment has a fantastic ocean view from its living room and its balcony with hammocks.
The Canopy Apts have a partial ocean view and forest view from their outside balcony.
The Mango rooms do not have their own ocean view, but they share a balcony outside overlooking a tropical garden which also has an ocean view.
about an 8 to 10 minute walk, there is a hill so many travelers opt to take a taxi up on arrival at the pier. The taxi goes right to the entrance, there are no stairs to climb.
