After spending two weeks at Los Establos in Boquete I feel like a new woman. Peaceful, relaxing with beautiful lush landscaping and an amazing view of the volcano is just awesome. Staff treat you like family, anything you need they go above and beyond, I miss them already (Elias, Josephine, Jean Paul, Maria, Anna, Elian, Jose, Hyime, Roberto) they were all wonderful. The resort offer amazing food for those who prefer international cusine you will be spoilt choice, I decided to stick to the Panamanian breakfast and at lunch the delicious Panamanian soup. For an early morning stroll around the garden is delightful, coffee, herb and vegetables along with the most beautiful flowers I have seen. If you love nature you must visit . Fiends of mine went on the zip line, played golf and took the 4am hike up the volcano, the view is breathtaking. A few nights we decided to drive into the town of Boquete for dinner, lots of fabulous restaurants, coffee shops and ice cream parlors. But just spending the day relaxing at Los Establos is equally satisfying in the jacuzzi, swimming pool, games room, spa, gym or having a quiet read on the large terrace. I’m already planning my next trip back to Los Establos, currently working on improving my Spanish although most of the staff speak fairly good English. I highly recommend a visit to Los Establos, don’t say I didn’t tell you!!!…
Our vacation stay at Los Establos was amazing in every way imaginable. The property is lush and beautiful with impeccable landscapes grounds and amazing views of the mountains and Volcan Baru. Our visit was in late May, which was at the beginning of the rainy season for the region and the long range forecast was 100% chance of rain every day. Don’t let that deter you. Yes - it rained every afternoon, but overall the weather was quite lovely. It’s so consistently comfortable that there are no thermostats in the rooms. The hospitality at Los Establos is warm and welcoming…all staff members go above and beyond to ensure the satisfaction of their guests. All of our tour experiences were first rate. We chose the hanging bridges tour and our guide was exceptionally knowledgeable about the Panamanian ecosystem and eagerly shared numerous interesting stories about the history of the Boquete region. Same with the coffee tour, which included tastings of seven varieties including the renowned Geisha coffee. Our favorite tour was a beautiful hike into the Quetzal habitat where our experienced guide did indeed spot a nesting bird and we were treated to a rare sighting. The meals at the on-site restaurant were so varied and delicious that we didn’t feel the need to venture into town for a lunch or dinner. The dinner menu changes daily and the chef took great pride in her wonderfully prepared and presented desserts. NOTE: like many others, we used a certificate from the affiliated promotion company which requires purchase of their all-inclusive package. But for breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks along with a choice from numerous daily activities and tours with experienced guides, it was easily worthwhile given the overall quality of our experience. If you’re considering a visit to Panama, we highly recommend a stay at Los Establos Boutique Inn.…
My family and I spent 6 days onsite at Los Establos after visiting a very hot and humid Panama City for a few days. The weather was perfect with cool nights and warm days with only a few showers. My husband and I agreed that the views from this hotel were the best in town. You are up on a hill away from town but close enough to walk down or a quick cab ride. The volcano is directly in front of the hotel and there are fantastic views from each room. The hotel is all inclusive and offers three delicious meals a day including traditional Panamanian options. The dining hosts got to know us and even prepared special meals for my 7 year old son who is not a picky eater but who was a little unsure of trying new food each meal. One activity is included each day and we did them all including hiking to waterfalls, hot springs, horseback riding, rock climbing, zip lining through the rainforest (super cool), hanging bridges and best of all the sunrise ride to the top of Baru volcano. Some of these were an added fee but well with it. A professional guide came with us each tour and transport each provided by the hotel or the guide. We were really impressed with the knowledge, friendliness and professionalism of all of the guides. The reception was wonderful and we really appreciate Josephine who helped us from booking tours to finding covid tests for us to come back to the US. The room we stayed in had two queen beds, a large bathroom with two sinks and a nice patio with a table and chairs outside the front porch. There is no air conditioning but the ceiling fan providing plenty of air circulation on the cool nights and we were fine. My kids enjoyed a dip in the pool each day while we enjoyed happy hour! We would go back again for sure!…
Be aware that there is a $125 per person per night inclusive nightly supplement fee that you are responsible for. Sadly, we purchased this through a charity auction and later find out when the gift certificates were handed over with huge prints about these crazy fees. BE AWARE and GOOD LUCK!!
Like many, I won a certificate in a fundraiser and wasn't quite sure what to expect. From the moment I was contacted by Travis who answered all of my questions and was a pleasure to work with in getting everything booked to the moment we got to the airport to come back home, I can honestly say it was one of the best travel experiences my husband and I have ever had. Los Establos itself is just absolutely stunning and beautiful. The grounds are filled with beautiful flowers and the view of the mountains and volcano are gorgeous. There is a heated pool and hot tub. We upgraded to the premium suite which was an extra 50.00 a night. It's in a separate building with amazing views! It was a beautiful room with a king bed, living room, a huge walk-in shower and balcony. The bath towels were the softest we've ever had...they were awesome!!!! There are only 17 rooms between three buildings so it is a very quaint and cozy place where you got very personalized attention There were only a few other guests staying during the week we were there, so we literally had the whole place to ourselves!!!! The staff is absolutely amazing!!! Layla and Josefina at the front desk will help you book all of your excursions which are also included in your stay. They will go above and beyond to make you feel at home and make your stay perfect. Jean Paul and Franklin are so friendly to talk to in the restaurant and happy hour. The service they provide is absolutely outstanding! Jean Paul makes the best margarita....trust me!!! Everyone from housekeeping to the groundskeeper will say hello and make you feel special. There are excursions included every day you can choose from. We did the Panorama tour, coffee plantation tour, hot springs, Ziplining, rum tasting and the spa massages. There is plenty of other tours to choose from like hikes and drives to the volcano and white water rafting. There is something for everyone to do! The spa services were spectacular! There is a 30-min massage included but you can also get other services you pay for. I got a facial and it was the best one I've ever had! She did a great job. You get three meals a day included as well as happy hour from 4-6. There is a separate restaurant building on the grounds. The menu for breakfast and lunch is the same with plenty of options to choose from and the dinner menu changes nightly. Everything was delicious!! We did not have a bad meal here. Everything was top quality and made to order. It made it hard to go out to town to explore different places because the food was so good!!!! There is also a kitchen and living room in the main building where you can get beer, wine, soda, water, coffee and tea 24 hours a day. There is a refrigerator and microwave for your own food if you want. During happy hour from 4-6 you can also get mixed drinks made for you! You are a short taxi ride to town with plenty of restaurants and shops. To get a cab to go anywhere in town from the resort it was $5.00. If you just hail down cab in town to head back on your own it was only $3.00. This was definitely an out-of-the-box trip for us. It was so different than our usual beach vacation, but I can honestly say it was one of the best trips we've taken. I cannot say enough great things about Los Establos!!! I would definitely recommend it to anyone and everyone. If you have a certificate from Elite Island vacations that you have won, definitely do not be afraid to use it here!!!!! You will love it!!!! Just a few minor observations/suggestions that are in NO way a criticism!!! The shower in our room took a few minutes to heat up. Turn it on and then wait a few minutes(literally) for the water to heat up...it will! Having some hooks in the bathroom to hang up towels, etc. would be helpful. When we first checked in we weren't told about the key for the safe. You don't need a 4-digit code. It's a little key attached to your room key that locks/unlocks the safe. I accidentally set off the safe alarm by trying to set a code! It would be helpful if there was a little description added to the list of tours in terms of what they include, clothing recommended for each like if you need a bathing suit, jacket etc. just so you have an idea of what each tour is about. Since it rains a lot even though there were umbrellas in the main house by reception to use and the housekeeping staff was kind enough to give me hers one day, having an umbrella in each room would be a nice touch for guests like me who forgot to bring one!…
I can't say enough good things about Los Establos boutique. The staff was so friendly, and the resort itself was clean and very accommodating! The food was a highlight every day. Breakfast, lunch and dinner all were 5 star quality every day! Definitely would recommend this place!
We stayed here during a three-day, two-night trip to Boquete and highly recommend it. It definitely exceeded our expectations. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The hotel was even kind enough to accommodate an early check-in after our red eye flight from the States and a late check-out on the back end of our stay. An example of their customer service: when we arrived at the hotel just as breakfast was ending, they offered to keep the kitchen open so that we could have something to eat without needing to go into town. One thing that wasn’t clear to us from the website but that was a pleasant surprise: the room rate includes three meals per day (plus a daily happy hour) and water/soft drinks from a common area refrigerator. The meals were generally very good and high quality. Dinner was a five-course meal with two options for the main course each night. One night the choice was between chicken Parmesan (very good) and a pork chop (that wasn’t quite as good). The other night offered a choice between filet mignon and a fish dish. Breakfast was available between 7 and 10:30 am each morning and lunch was available from 12 to 3 pm. Both breakfast and lunch offered a wide range of daily menu options including both local Panamanian and American fare.…
On our first trip to Panama, we decided on Los Establos and stayed for a week. Wow. What a gem. We are so happy we had a one stop itinerary. Los Establos was perfect for us in every way. The entire experience from reservation to the good-bye on our last day was a flawless experience. The staff is absolutely amazing; friendly, cheerful, engaged and helpful in every way possible. The location is optimal for easy access to Boquete, yet perched on a hillside with a commanding view of the valley and Vulcan Baru. The gardens on the property are stunningly beautiful. Most of the property is fringed with coffee bushes. The rooms are beautifully decorated, quiet, spacious and wonderfully furnished. The on-site restaurant is a destination unto itself. The food is amazing with the menu updated daily with familiar foods but also a good choice of wholesome Panamanian cuisine. The spa and pool are both beautiful and functional. While the Inn and faculties on-site provide ample opportunities for rest and relaxation, there is so much to do and see in the surrounding area and the staff is very eager to make arrangements. We hiked to waterfalls, ambled on guided bird walks, visited a coffee farm, wandered the streets of Boquete, went on a honey tasting and butterfly tour. walked on hanging bridges and more. The second to the last day of our stay, a beautiful rainbow appeared suddenly over Los Establos. We knew we had already found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow and it was Los Establos. Thank you for a truly wonderful and memorable vacation.…
We spent a week at Los Establos and had a fantastic time. The staff was truly incredible and anticipated our needs. All of the meals were incredible and offered both American and Panamanian choices. The resort was beautiful and very clean with outstanding views of the volcano. There is a very nice spa and a gym onsite. You are only 5 minutes from town and there are abundant activities within an hour. You are completely off the grid if you so choose but close to a lot of great hiking (hidden waterfalls) and the floral display is awesome. Thank You to the entire staff for a memorable stay!!
From check in to check out Los Establos dots all the i's and crosses all the t's. They made our group trip memorable. All the staff from the front desk, house keeping, gardners, chef's and waiters were not only friendly but accommodated our every need. Rooms were clean and well appointed. Only thing I would change would be to heat the hot tub and pool. We offered to pay the gas bill.
