We had a lovely two night stay here and thoroughly enjoyed the excellent food (breakfast is particularly good and the evening 5 course meal is both good value and high quality), comfortable rooms and, of course, Sam's PR man Beethoven the Bernese Mountain Dog. I'm surprised by some of the negative comments I've read as we found the staff to...

I had a delightful 3 day vacation staying at Sam's Giardino hotel in Swakopmund. Actually, it is more of a Bavarian guest house than a hotel. The furnishings, decor, bar, and dining room are right out of Bavaria or southern Germany. Herr Samuel Egger and his staff made me feel welcome from the moment I walked in the door. I...

It was our second time at Sam's Giardino. We enjoyed the 2-night-stay in this small and cosy hotel with a beautiful garden. The food was delicious and the wine excellent! Many thanks to Sam, his Giardino Team, including "Beethoven".

Sam's is clean, comfortable, professionally run.Exactly what you'd expect from a Swiss hotelier. The location is excellent, an easy walk to Swakop's centre and easy to find if you're driving from any direction. We received a warm welcome from Sam and he provides maps on which he will identify all the main attractions and anything else you may wish to see. My family visited me from Canada/US and we spent 2 nights at Sam's. The first night we had driven from Twyfelfontain so we were tired and road weary--decided to eat in and were hooked from the first course, a potato/salmon starter with capers and a sour cream sauce. It only got better from there. Sam was very friendly and really...

If you visit Swakop don`t miss sams giardino. Sam has the best wine cellar all over Namibia and he knows his wines. His garden is a tropic rememberance in desert sourroundings. Sams Giardino is a proffesionally owner managed small place with a very personal touch. ernst and martina

We don't really understand why Swakopmund exists! More of that later. After a bright but slightly chilly day exploring the lagoon at Walvis Bay we did not expect to drive into fog on the short drive up to Swakopmund. At Sam's we received a rather brusk reception followed by being shown a very cold room. Heating was a plate radiator...

What can we say about our stay at Sam's Giardino other than how much we enjoyed it. We were welcome to the B&B by one of the staff members who made us feel immediately at home. We later met Sam and his very charming personality. We were able to experience the wine tasting our first night which is highly recommended....
