Large, comfortable room overlooking the dunes - a stunning view! There is a wood burner in the room, and believe me in Swakopmund you're likely to need it! The staff were friendly and helpful and although we only stayed one night on our way to Sossusvlei, we had a thoroughly good experience. Just one thing...the bathroom was very dark and had no light over the mirror, so shaving was impossible!

The best of the best, in every respect!! From the first contact with the lovely Andrea when we booked, to the final farewell after our wonderful 3-day stay at Desert Breeze, we were made to feel welcome, and special, in this most unique place. Our spacious desert-themed chalet, with spectacular views over the dunes, provided a perfect home from home after daytime exploration of Swakopmund and the surrounding area. High quality, well maintained, with the added special touch of a log fire, and the largest most attractive shower on our Namibian travels. Oh, the joy of watching the sand change colour in the evening light, and the full moon rising over the dunes... Sleeping with the curtains wide open, marveling at a myriad of stars in the clear night air, waking to a blood red sunrise, and a russet hue on the dunes... Simply magical! Breakfast was delicious and well-presented, the service friendly and efficient. Alan's 80th birthday was a most marvellous and memorable occasion - thank you, Margaret, Andrea, and Desert Breeze, for the spoiling, the champagne, and the manner in which each and every staff member went the extra mile in ensuring we had the best of the best experiences. Our only regret was not staying another three days! We would not hesitate to recommend Desert Breeze to anyone who has ever dreamed of experiencing the wide wonderful sky and a dramatic desert panorama in the most comfortable of accommodation, just a few minutes outside Swakopmund.

We cannot recommend this lodge more highly. From the moment we arrived Anastasia in reception was incredibly helpful sorting out tour changes, booking restaurants and taxis. The rooms are fabulous and funky but clean and modern and a monsoon type shower walk in. Views from the window of our lodge are stunning. If you want to stay in this area don’t consider any other lodge

After a long drive up from Sesriem we found Desert Breeze to be a real home-from-home. Lovely bungalows overlooking the dunes (which are only 120million years old) and only a 5-10 min drive from the old town and seafront restaurants. The laundry service was great as well and delivered a same day service. The room was wonderful too, with a spacious bathroom, lounge area with wood burner and bedroom area. Be careful lighting the fire. My husband knows how to light our woodburner at home and had to re-arrange how they had laid it in the stove to get it going properly. We heard tales of fire brigades being called out and one tourist burning themselves quite badly. They provide paraffin soaked ceramic fire starters, so just make sure you know you how to light fires correctly. Breakfast was freshly cooked and had the usual selection of buffet goods too. The staff were absolutely great as well. We are coming back to Namibia in 2023 and have decided to stay at their sister lodge, the Stiltz, nearer the seafront.

2nd review For us Desert Breeze is not just a Lodge anymore, it is the place where we return year after year to nourish our souls, to feel inner peace and joy. Our bungalow with it's amazing views over the sand dunes, is our sanctuary, our home in Namibia. As soon as I walk through the door, my mind quietens down and I feel happy. Everything about DB is beautiful; the view, the lovely colourful bungalows, the garden with the all the well cared for plants and guinea fowls running around, the dining room with the view over the sand dunes and all this, taken care of by the most lovely and efficient staff, under the guidance of dearest Margaret, who I truly believe is the BEST manageress in the business. We miss our bungalow, we miss the peace and beauty and we miss the Desert Breeze amazing team. Thank you again and again!

The lodge is a short drive from the city centre, which on the one hand makes it super peaceful at night, but on the other hand means a short 5 minute drive is needed to get an evening meal as the lodge offers only a breakfast… It has a small number of individual units for 2 guests, each with super large room, seating area, great walk in shower and stunning desert views. It is located at the end of a nice residential street of pretty fine houses, so you feel safe quickly. One or two units are actually large “villa” self catering sleeping 6 or more, which are break along places…. Breakfast offered at he lodge is really good, with eggs to your liking made fresh…. All in all a great stop…

We often need to overnight or spend a few days in Swakopmund but prefer more open locations. This place, allied with the similar Stiltz closer into town, is ideal. A previously quiet rural area overlooking the ephemeral river Swakop and some splendid dunes and yet easily accessible to the main town either by foot or car. This is B&B only so one needs to eat main meals in the town but this is just few minutes drive away. The rooms are actually quirky looking bungalows each separate from its neighbour and mostly with excellent views over the river. Paths are lit at night and there is ample covered parking for one's vehicle. The rooms are furnished to good standard and clean. Bed, sitting area and access to a balcony are standard as is the excellent en suite Bathroom area. There is a fridge and writing desk and the room is WiFi enabled and a stove is fitted for those 'winter' evenings.. Breakfasts are taken in the communal building behind reception and the Fare is comprehensive with buffet, cereals, coffee etc., plus the option of cooked dishes on request. We booked direct by mail and the process was trouble free and friendly. If in Swakopmund in future this will be our first call.

The lodge is a bit far from the city center (5 min ride) but the view of the dunes makes it totally worth it. The facilities are great (but no pool) and the room is well equipped. No dinner is served but you will find plenty of good restaurants in town. We definitely recommend to visit this place.

We spent a lovely night in a 2 room bungalow overlooking the desert dunes with a view also of the ocean . The rooms each had a refrigerator and lovely walk in shower. They served a nice breakfast at the main office. The rooms were very spacious and had a fireplace as well.

This is an absolute must stay when in Swakopmund. Although just 3 kilometers out of town, this lodge is situated opposite the desert with the most spectacular views. The lodge is really quite and serine. The tranquility sitting on the verandah with the views over the dry riverbed and desert is something to see for yourself. The lodge is extremely neat and clean and the attention to detail mesmerizing. The staff is super friendly. Thank you Elsie for making our stay picture perfect and really going the extra mile. Breakfast is great. Thank you Miriam for the excellent service at breakfast. Desert Breeze is highly recommended.
