We booked Dar Lazuli because of the great reviews on Tripadvisor but the accommodation disappointed us. The price was good, the communication with the owners before arrival great and the staff super friendly. The Dar itself was in a good location but the alley towards the house always smelled of urine and garbage. Not a big turn on. Inside the... More

Dar Lazuli is ideally placed on the edge of the Medina, close to the harbour and the beach. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff - breakfast was served on the terrace, dinner was beside an open fire, and every request for help was no problem.

Communication with the owners Jean-Marc and Madeleine was faultless from beginning to end. Rachid has a beautiful smile indeed, and his wife Latifa was warm, friendly and conscientious. Everybody was always quick to response with queries and the language barrier was not an issue when we needed help. Lots of attention to detail and charming little touches in a house... More

This was our first visit to Essaouira and I have to say it was absolutely fantastic. The riad was just perfect for my family and I. The Keepers of the riad were all such lovely people and very helpful too. The location of the riad was just right. Everything was within a short walk away... the beach, restaurants and souks... This was my second visit to Dar Lazuli - I had to visit again after being so impressed during my first trip to Essaouira. We hired the whole riad for a group of 7 of us and once again, it couldn't have been better. The best location in the heart of the medina, the riad is beautifully decorated in modern... More

The Riad is huge with a nice roof terrace set over 3 tiers, a perfect sun trap. Very hospitable hosts who cooked us food and kept the place spotless, would highly recommend to a friend. The town is lovely and perfect for a relaxing break

A beautifully maintained quirky riad with lots of cubby holes and a 3 storey outside drinking/dining area. The staff are exceptiojnally helpful particularily Rachid who organised taxis and transfers for me and my guests.

We stayed in Dar Lazuli for 3 nights at the beginning of August. I have to say the Riad was absolutely beautiful with Rachid and his staff who were extremely helpful in every way and made you feel at ease as soon as we arrived. They helped us with our luggage and suggested restaurants to try out as well as... More

Myself and a group of friends rented out the whole place a few weeks back for 4 days. Having visited Morocco before I have had a broad experience of accommodation, and I would definitely go back to Dar Lazuli with friends or family. As soon as we arrived we knew we had booked the right place. Super central just off... More
