A masterpiece of the Medina of Essaouira ... this old Caidal house is at the heart of this city loved by artists and adventurers. The panoramic outdoor swimming pool on the terrace offers a magnificent view of the medina and the ocean in the distance. The kitchen offers a subtle blend of French and Moroccan influences

This definitely is a haven of calm just inside the medina gate. A huge courtyard in the centre where you can relax, eat and drink. Everywhere has magnificent tiling and the bar and restaurant fabulous carved wooden ceilings. Fires were lit when weather turned a bit chilly.

We stayed here for 4 nights in December including New Year's Eve. The hotel service and staff were amazing, among the best I've ever experienced. The manager was very present at all breakfasts, engaging with guests and learning about our trip. Having traveled extensively, it was

Dear PT, I am pleased to read your comment. The staff and I had a lot of fun sharing the New Year with our guests. The size of windows is often a matter of surprise for our customers. The traditional riad is turned towards the interior and the openings on the outside very often reduced to the minimum in order to preserve the freshness in summer and the cold in winter. We are also backed by the Wall of Essaouira classified World Heritage of Unesco. We hope to welcoming you again in the furture. Kind regards

The hotel is a lovely building and the location at the edge of the old city is a good one and it is easy to locate amongst the maze of narrow streets and alleys. The room was also quite comfortable and although quite large, did feel quite cramped because of the way it was laid

Wonderful old school hotel with charming and attentative staff. Common areas are excellent and we spent more time at the hotel than we had planned. Rooms are spacious (we had the basis room category) clean and cool. Good location inside the medina.

a week or ten days there in January each year is a great post-Christmas healer with just Maroc gold, seafood and no alcohol. unless windsurfing you do not swim in the sea. the wind is too much and bloody cold. there is a walled pool and bar at the top of the hotel. one thing,

It sounds reasonable but we flew out of Marrakesh. We did use the local Essouira taxi's once or twice and they were cheap if a little on the old side. There are taxi ranks who I am sure would be happy to assist. If booked via a hotel then there will be an uplift then again you may get a more comfortable ride.

The type of air conditioner I would describe it as is a ducted system, so they are not individual air conditioners in each room with a remote to control your temperature, there was a dial on the wall to control. Hope that helps.

I'm not sure. There is a beautiful morning buffet and late afternoon drinks and finger foods. Sorry, but I don't know the answer. The hotel front desk staff were very helpful when we were there. Email or call.

"The higher floors are lighter and the suite 35 we had had lots of room. "
"3 bedroom floors. Top floor, more light but can be noisy - the sun terrace (and pool) are above you, but still go for the top floor!"
"Rooms on the main street are quite nosiy if you have a light sleep."
