We absolutely loved our stay! Ideally located in the medina, close to a guarded parking. Our room was sparkling clean and had a blacony with a beautiful ocean view. Yummy breakfast and super friendly staff, great attention to details. We will definitely be back!!!
Essaouria is 3 hour drive from Marrakech and is a quiet Oceanside town. There is a bustling souk where some stalls have fixed prices. The Riad, Chems Bleu is close to the edge of the Medina and abuts the city wall. Down the expected narrow alley to a stout door which was opened as we approached due to the security camera inside. We had booked the Dunette room which had a large private balcony and a great view over the port and the ocean. We knew it was upstairs but not how many ( three floors which meant six flights ) , however they delivered our breakfast ( coffee in thermal carafe, orange juice, yoghurt, fruit, breads, pastries and egg) and we structures our day so we dis not go up and down too often. Exiting the Riad you are immediately in the souk. Turn right at the end of the alley and in 20 meters there on the right is a small place with excellent food and low prices, mains 30/40. One day we wandered along the waterfront and ate at Sugebi Sarl, good food, mains 60/70. We wandered round the souk a few times and enjoyed the fresh pomegranate juice, squeezed to order - 20. The cotton throws were 50/80 so the prices were good. We found the souk felt very safe and the people were very helpful. I bought some spices and we bought (as we had intended) a carpet from Ahmed on the ocean side of Av. Mohamed Zerktouni. Good carpets, good prices and two adorable cats.…
Absolutely great riad in the heart of Essaouira. You are walking through some strange narrow street but when you come in to the riad you are like in the dream. Absolutely amazing accomodation. Its real gem in Essaouira. Long time I was not in such fantastic hotel. Very clean, comfortable. Breakfast on terrace on the roof. Was general, not so various but I saw later that its everywhere in Morroco same like this. They also ordered me Tacos for dinner because I came late. Reccomend me great places to eat and visit. Fantastic service.
Nice riad ambiance within Medina. Great roof terrace view over the city but problem stairs. Room narrow, toilet and warm shower don’t work, breakfast great, same for friendly service. No credit cards.
From the moment we arrived, we knew we had chosen well and were warmly welcomed by Fatima with a cup of Moroccan tea. We stayed 1 night in the small room, Batik on the 1st floor which was very nice, but rather compact. However we moved to the utterly exceptional chambre verte for the next 7 nights, which had 3 large windows and fab views of the medina and the sea. Also featuring a huge comfy bed and a lovely bathroom also with a view! The breakfast each morning was delicious and varied daily, always including a fried egg, fresh orange juice and a selection of Moroccan breads, jams, honey, olive oil and olives. Views from the breakfast terrace were outstanding. There is also a nice outdoor sun terrace where you can relax on the 3 rd floor. All the staff are amazing at this wonderful Riad, but special thanks go to Fatima, Latifa and Soufiane for their kindness and even doing our laundry for no charge!…
