Victoria Beachcomber Resort & Spa boasts a vibrant atmosphere with entertainment that keeps the mood lively, though the noise level might be a bit much for some guests. The prime location earns high marks for its beach proximity and snorkeling opportunities. While opinions on value are mixed, the service receives consistent praise for its attentiveness and friendliness.
Guests appreciate the resort's cleanliness and the variety of amenities, including diverse dining options and water sports. Room comfort is noted, but there's some feedback suggesting the need for updates and quieter accommodations.

Hotel's Favorite
Stayed here for 8 nights as a family of 4 (including 2 teenage daughters) and we would return in a heartbeat.
Room:
We had a family room on the third floor which had a nice view of tropical trees, the beach and the sea. We contemplated getting a ground floor upgraded room but this one was perfectly adequate. We liked that the third floor rooms had the higher ceiling with wooden panelling and ceiling fan, (which added to the Mauritian feel). There were 2 large single beds for the girls which was ideal and there was a large balcony. Mini bar was upgraded daily and included beers, soft drinks, peanuts and Kit Kats. We had a slight issue with the room initially that was very quickly put right by reception.
Beach and pool areas:
With my girls being a bit older we preferred the beach, which at this hotel is simply stunning. Beachcomber hotels are known for their excellent stretches of beach and this hotel is no exception. There were loads of loungers with shade and there were a number of conveniently situated beach bars dotted along. We never had an issue getting loungers with a wooden parasol on the beach (even after 10 am) although by the the pool, loungers would get taken a bit earlier as many families with younger children would understandably prefer this area. The pool area was also stunning with a great outlook. By the pool you could order food and drinks from your sun lounger, including chicken nuggets and chips and margherita pizzas which my girls loved.
Activities:
Whilst my girls didn’t partake in the kids clubs activities, there was loads for them to do. The boat house facilities were excellent and we went on the glass bottom boat, hired pedalos, kayaks and tried water skiing. At an extra cost of 500 Mauritian rupees pp you can go on various inflatables that are towed by a speed boat which we all did a few times. Myself and youngest daughter went parasailing which the boat house sorted for us (2000 rupees pp).
There was a large games room with pool tables, table tennis etc. so loads for the young ones to do (and family’s) activity wise.
A heads up to anyone wanting to play tennis, you can hire rackets but have to buy balls from the on-site shop which are expensive so bring you’re own. This was one of my only gripes as my daughter wanted to try tennis but it wasn’t worth paying £13 for balls we would never re-use. The hotel should hire out balls IMO.
With all the activities (and available excursions) we never run out of things to do.
Food/drink.
The food and drink options were excellent.
We went all inclusive and found there to be loads of choice for everyone.
Breakfast was in the main buffet restaurant which had a lovely seating area with many tables looking out onto the sea and/or the pool. A huge selection every day (including some lovely Indian nibbles).
Lunch for families was in either the main buffet restaurant or the Italian restaurant off the beach.
Evening meal for families was either in the main buffet restaurant (different themes most evenings), or you could pre book the Italian or seafood restaurant. The only restaurant children can’t use is the Morris Beef (adults only) restaurant, however it’s fine for adults to book here and children go into the main buffet.
We tried the Italian and seafood restaurants and the quality of both was excellent. The seafood restaurant was a real fine dining experience.
Personally I love Indian food and I was in my element as most meal times included an option for Indian dishes (as well as many others including an Italian section for pizzas & pastas which my girls enjoyed)
Loads of choice of cocktails, bottled beers (phoenix, Blue Marlin,Guinness) etc included in the all inclusive as well as a range of wines (including a number of bottled wines). The various cocktails we tried were really nice.
Staff:
We found nearly all staff to be friendly, helpful and courteous. My daughter accidentally lost her toy panda when it was taken away with the bedding…we contacted reception who thankfully located the lost teddy and reunited it with my daughter :)
Sorry I didn’t get the names of staff members but I seem to remember Yogen (buffet restaurant) providing a great service on many occasions.
Trips:
We booked a Catamaran cruise via a beach seller called Clark. This was 9000 rupees for 4 and included transfers from the hotel, food, drink and a visit to ile au Cerfs and the waterfall, as well as snorkelling. A really good day out (despite the bloke doing the transfer from the hotel driving like Colin McRae!!). We were originally quoted 12000 rupees so don’t be afraid to bargain them down.
Other info:
Weather in July/August was overall really nice other than some cloud on a couple of days and one brief rain shower that quickly passed. Probs about 27-28 degrees which was perfect.
The hotel had one of the accommodation blocks closed for refurbishment. Therefore the hotel wasn’t at full capacity, however I felt this enhanced our experience as the resort was quieter, but all facilities were still available. Therefore rarely any long waits for drinks, easy to book the restaurants and loads of available sun loungers…perfect!
Due to Victoria potentially being over capacity with their available rooms (due to the upgrades and refurbishments going on) we were delighted to be offered a free transfer to the 5* Paradis beachcomber for our last 2 nights of the holiday which was a lovely surprise ….and wow what a hotel that was (separate review for that hotel).
Overall we loved our stay here and for anyone who has booked this hotel you’re in for a great time.

Hotel is lovely! Unfortunately despite paying for an upgrade we found ourselves next to the cleaning staffs room so the banging crashing & noise from reversing trucks disturbed us every morning at 7 am without fail. The shower needs maintenance the grout is covered in mould and the toilet full of ants! The cleanliness is good but it just needs maintaining and updating.
Le Superb restaurant is the main buffet style and completely lethal when the floor is wet! Literally like an ice rink and unfortunately it rained a lot during our stay so getting food proved life threatening 😱 Choice of food is ok - lack of vegetables and for some reason tomatoes which are hard to come by. The fish restaurant (you have to make an effort to book this) on the beach is a lovely location and if you don’t like fish like myself there’s alternatives. Attentive staff in all the restaurants - shout out to Anil who served us the previous day in the buffet & remembered our drinks order the next day at the fish restaurant too 😘 The only rude staff member was the towel man who refused to give us two towels each - they are tiny & don’t cover the beds so it’s not an unreasonable request when the beds get red hot where not covered & easily resolved! Take 2 return 2! Don’t argue with the guests especially when the hotel is half full! Beach is beautiful but sitting around the pool you get the fumes from the various motorised water activities which isn’t pleasant 🤢 Grounds well kept and entertainment provided every evening.

We stayed at Victoria for 2 which is the more exclusive side of the resort. The rooms are exquisite; modern, bright, new and "beach apartment" type feel. Some days I could just sit on my balcony and watch the day fade away. The beach is fantastic and the main pool is HUGE! At Victoria for 2 you have a private pool for use solely by the residents of this part of the resort and the pool has a bar in it, yes... in it... so you can sit in the pool and be served drinks. We never had a disappointing meal at this resort at any of the restaurants. Our favourite being the restaurant at Victoria for 2, Morrison Beef, which has a wide variety of food options available.
The staff are all incredibly friendly and always helpful and knowledgeable on their product and offerings. Kishan was a fabulous housekeeper, he left me elephant shaped towels and even received beautiful fresh flowers in the room.
After 2 weeks in Mauritius, I was sad to leave, but I am sure a large part of that was due to the hospitality received at this wonderful resort.

Good Morning, Thank you very much for your review after your ‘great’ stay at the Victoria Beachcomber. We note with pleasure that you have enjoyed our resort and that our offers have lived up to your expectations. The ‘Victoria for 2’ is in fact this space for adults only where the services are highly appreciated by all our guests who want a romantic getaway in a particular setting. The rest of the hotel is also attractive with lots of entertainment and activities for families. Thank you for your intention to renew this experience a next time and your trust in our hotel. My husband and I visited the Victoria in February this year. We opted to stay in the Victoria for 2 section which is adult only and had a swim up room on an all inclusive basis for 10 nights. We had a pleasant check in and the swim up room was well worth the money in our opinion. Le Superbe, the main buffet was very busy and we food the food to be OK. In the individual restaurants La Horizon, La Casa and Morris Beef (Morris Beef is adult only) the food was far more enjoyable. At times the service was a little inconsistent and some staff didn't appear over friendly, however most were fantastic. We attended the fitness facility on a few occasions so must give a mention to Berty,Fabrice and especially Dpak and Ayvind who were always welcoming and nice. In an all inclusive like this maybe it would be nice if there was more choice in a mini bar to suit the drinks you. We very much enjoyed our visit to the Beachcomber resort and would definitely recommend it.

The most amazing family friendly resort.
From the moment we arrived the staff made us feel right at home.
The all inclusive package is absolutely worth it if you’ll be spending majority of your time at the resort. Even if you’re not a family that drinks alcohol, the cost of soft drinks and bottled water will add up quickly. The quality of the food at the buffet is exquisite. Cuisines are different each night for dinner but they still have pizza, pasta and ice cream to keep the kids happy. There are also two other kid friendly fancier à la carte restaurants if you get tired of buffet eating which we would highly recommend. The breakfast buffet includes a separate halaal egg station and the bacon products are kept completely separate which we appreciated very much. Even when you’re at the pool or on the beach you hardly have to walk 10 metres to get a drink.
Most common water sports are included from the glass bottom boat, snorkelling, canoeing etc.
Service is top notch, with staff remembering you by name. The cleaning staff are very tentative to when you leave your room. Everyone is super friendly and responsive. The waiting staff even remembered our preferred drinks at meal times.
All in all a top quality stay. We would absolutely stay here again.
Thanks Beachcomber Victoria for the wonderful memories.

At our arrival the team fumigate us and took our body temperature . After this flight I honestly wanted to be fumigated indeed !
All our luggage was tagged with our room number as we got it since the beginning .
Each person guided us through the room with minimum contact all in full PPE .
The door room was sealed indicating it has been sanitised and only us opening it .
At the beginning i was skeptical as i use specific products to clean constantly but was amazed by the amount of products and well the fact it was eco friendly - well done Beachcomber 👌 .
If you live in a flat in a big city well this room is just soooo big , with a luxury sea view and balcony !
Above all I got a paint of my town hanged in my room I just felt closer to home .
The minibar got dry snacks , water coffee. extra tea , Perette , juices, kitkat and coca cola - I was stunned to see all that food .
It’s not yet done all course meals had entry , main , bread and desserts . I had to ask not having the bread as it was MORE than enough … All of that placed in a menu sheet and given to receptionist on a daily call one day ahead … You talk about a service 👑.
Even more mini bar team come everyday to take orders to replenish it with our desired items .
Above all what I loved most was the big Mauritian hospitality - You cannot see a smile through a mask but the tones used always being pleasant greeting you everytime and ask about you . You will tell me its there job right ? Well they do a whole wuarantine just to serve us far away from their family big up for that 🥳.
We were also entertained by mini concerts during weekend and before we quit the quarantine .
Thanks also to healthcare team to look after us everyday , all PCR test was done gently despite they need to knock out at each room .
A big Thank You To You All

We've just spent 10 days at Victoria Beachcomber for Xmas and New Year, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The service levels were outstanding, with housekeeping being on the ball. We had a problem with our aircon, which was attended to within half an hour. The sporting facilities were fantastic, as were the pool and bar services. Our only gripe is around the pool where people book chairs for hours without using them leaving some elderly people having to trudge down to the beach. What they need to enforce though, like they do on cruise lines, is that if you haven't used your pool chair in half an hour, the staff remove your towel or bag to allow those wanting to use the facilities to use them. Also they need to stop the ball throwing in the pool. Lastly, THE FOOD!!!!!! The chefs were outstanding.

Stayed here for 2 nights whilst visiting family in Mauritius. This is our 4th Beachcomber resort we have stayed at having previously stayed at Canonnier, Mauricia and Trou aux Biches, and we are big fans of The Beachcomber brand.
Our original room was right by some repair works happening outside our room with lots of drilling and hammering that could be heard. We requested a change of room which was done with very little fuse and we were moved to the other side of the resort.
Room was clean and very spacious. Large comfortable bed and soft pillows. Bathroom had both bath and walk in shower. I did find it odd that the toilet was in its own small room. Not great if you’re claustrophobic.
We ate at the main restaurant on both nights for dinner. Food was very good with a good selection of dishes. Breakfast was equally as good but I was surprised that no waiter knew what a flat white coffee was.
The swimming pool is very large and heated to a comfortable temperature. The beach area is excellent and you should definitely try snorkelling in the sea. There are some coral and a lot of fish to see even in the shallower areas. We also tried the pedalo and glass bottom boat.
Overall this was a lovely relaxing stay.

My husband, daughters (aged 5 and 7) and I had a wonderful stay at this resort for one week over the new year. The staff were super friendly, patient and helpful (and all at least bilingual French and English) - from Kalam who kept our room clean, Steph and the Kids Club team who were fun and flexible, Anil and Sogen in the extremely well catered for restaurant, and the skilful Madvi in the Spa. Thank you everyone.
We managed to fit the four of us in a Deluxe room comfortably. We did half board as we don’t drink or snack very much, and so paid for lunch and the occasional drink separately. For a week, that came to an extra £700.
Practical notes: you register for Kids Club each morning and can do full, half days or evenings (to 9 pm). The al a carte restaurants have meals that are included in the HB option. The Spa gets pretty busy so book when you get there. There is a tour desk upstairs in the foyer who do reasonable car+driver options. Request a picnic box the night before - you get a baguette, crisps, fruit, water and juice for about £10 pp.

So many things add up to a great quarantine stay- a very organized arrival, amenities and services offered, generosity and kindness of the personnel and finally the feeling of being treated well, after traveling for hours under the current circumstances.
The room was clean with a beachfront view which made those 14-days being stuck between 4 walls bearable. The staff were the only people I'd get to see and their friendliness was everything I could ask for. I'd like to point out that food has been something I've seen many people spending time in hotel quarantine complain about. The chef at VBC not only made sure that we all had various options daily, but he was kind enough to accommodate my dietary needs.
Every aspect of my stay exceeded my expectations! Thank you everyone for making my quarantine experience a pleasant one!
