Anelia Resort & Spa is celebrated for its cleanliness and picturesque beachside location, often described as vibrant and entertaining by guests. The hotel's rooms are generally appreciated for their comfort and views, though some guests suggest they could be updated.
While the staff's friendliness and helpfulness receive acclaim, there are occasional mentions of service inconsistencies. The amenities, including pools and dining options, are popular, but the value of the all-inclusive packages is sometimes questioned due to unexpected additional charges.

The hotel was nice enough to give us our rooms at 1pm on the first day although the check-in is at 3.They also provided us with a complimentary breakfast on our arrival which was very welcome as we had travelled through the night and arrived at 10.30 at the hotel. The rooms are basic but very comfortable .TV have only 10 channels with BBC being the only English channel. Unlimited supply of tea coffee sachets soap etc. Housekeeping and the porter was very professional . The breakfast and dinner was truly excellent – A magnificent spread for both the meals. We were never there for lunch so cannot comment. The desserts, salads, live counters, cocktails were exquisite and added to the variety . The vegetarians had their own buffet for dinner so everyone was happy. A special call out for Leucine who made it a point to check if everything was comfortable every day and intervened where ever she could to make things right. Special call out to the entertainment committee every night – the dancing performances, Karaoke nights etc were a great way to end the day. The pictures on the websites don’t do justice to the beauty of the property and 3 pools they have and the central location – all attractions are accessible as Anelia is more in the center of the west coast. A tip is to buy your own water outside the hotel as all hotels charge exorbitantly for it . Jumbo supermarket is a 10 minutes’ walk . All in all an affordable 5 star experience.

We had the most amazing stay at Anelia. It has the feel of a 5 star resort but without the price tag. The resort is a beautiful sanctuary of calm and tranquility, not only in the setting and location but also in the manner of the lovely staff. The plants and layout of the resort attracts an abundance of birds, butterflies and other friendly creatures which made us feel relaxed and close to nature. The pools are kept clean and the grains well maintained. The staff that work here are so special. From the moment we arrived, they welcomed us like royalty. Everyone is so kind and courteous and friendly, no one was overpowering or over attentive. I explained on the first evening that I can’t eat dairy. It is often difficult to eat away from home so I was nervous this would be a problem with a buffet dinner. It was no problem for Anelia! One of the staff looked out for my arrival every evening and explained all the dishes that I should avoid. You made me feel so welcome - thank you!! The buffet is different every evening and there is plenty to choose from. We will struggle to find a resort as accommodating to our needs as Anelia have been. The shore of the beach is slightly stoney with lots of coral but still lovely to bathe in. Flic en Flac beach is only 10 min walk along the shore line where is a beautiful sandy beach. This is where the nearest supermarket/shops/tea stair ants are located so the location is great. We felt so safe, welcome and at ease. Thank you Anelia, we will be back!!

Anelia Resort & Spa is the best family hotel I have ever been to. My daughters feels very homely there. The staffs are very helpful, pleasant and professional which makes your stay better than a 5 star hotel. All services are personalized, rooms excellent, very accessible pools for both kids and adults. I have seen some bad rating for this hotel but for me this hotel has all sanitary regulations in place. I personally have been in their kitchen to prepare a " Salad Mangue" the staffs were wearing a bouffant cap, and appropriate PPE and the kitchen was highly maintained. I wish people could be more indulgent towards those working hard to promote our island than spoiling our image. I will always opt to stay atAnelia as they are the best in making your trip perfect.

The good points of this hotel are the location, on the edge of Flic en Flac beach and near a bus stop if you want to go to Port Louis by bus, the views are lovely with gorgeous sunsets, nice looking hotel in lovely gardens and very chilled and peaceful with plenty of sunbeds available (in December). The rest however isn't great, our room was spacious with a fridge, TV, air con and ceiling fan, safe and small balcony however the bathroom needed an upgrade. The housekeeping was not acceptable our bedding wasn't changed for the 10 days we were there and the bathroom wasn't cleaned (just the sink once). Staff were so so some of them would speak but you had to make the effort to speak to them first, the manager however was very friendly and went out of his way to speak to guests. Food wasn't too good, breakfast was the best meal as you could order fresh omelettes, there was plenty of fresh fruit too. Lunch was the worst but you could use the burger bar if on AI. There was a hygiene issue with flies and birds around the food some food was covered but not all. It was sometimes difficult to get a drink/cutlery as the staff weren't always attentive. The entertainment was a bit of a joke, the stage where it happens is in the dining room so all a bit awkward, the staff just seem to want to amuse themselves doing all the karaoke and dancing, there was no daytime entertainment that we saw apart from aqua aerobics and the glass bottom boat was out of service. On our departure at 6.30am there was nobody on reception to book us out, luckily someone found him. Not a four star hotel and don't recommend.

This resort is the heart of Mauritius , the location is very Candy surrounded by a very beautiful beach , the buffet has so many varieties for veg and non vegetarian fellas. I have seen the best crowd in this resort yet . They have this nice place for candle night dinner where you can enjoy the sound of waves with the moon so close , very splendid place for pictures and do not miss the multilevel infinity pool you would have the best time here

All the employees in the hotel are very polite but the vast majority are not properly trained as it is evident in the table service.
During our stay, in the toilets of the restaurant and nearby the pool, the hand dryers did not work despite several remarks I have made to the staff. From the start of our vacation, in our hotel room, a door of a wardrobe was found detached but the technical service did not repair the door correctly. The breakfast, the meal and especially the desert are repetitive and the quality of taste slightly inferior to other hotels we know in Mauritius. Food consists mainly of Indian and Mauritian specialties while other hotels in the Island offer a more interesting wide range of international food. However, if one gets bored with the hotel menu, there is a burger restaurant in another part of the hotel offering good food with burgers, nice salads and French fries.
In general, the benefits and services of the Anelia hotel are lower for the same price compared to a competitive hotel on the same island where we stayed before. The information obtained at the hotel reception can sometimes be confusing and different from one receptionist to another. Organization is often lacking during meal services and also for animation which is not well advertised.
The good points of this hotel are that the gardens and the pools are very well maintained and very clean and tidy. The Spa is very good and clean and its staff very friendly and extremely helpful. The fitness room is very well equipped and very clean. The location of the hotel is good and close to shops and a Jumbo convenience store. A drawback is that there is no beach in front of the hotel except of a few meters of sand which does swimming not make possible because too small and too shallow. It has to be pointed out that the dinner evenings at the beach are very well organised and offer a very exceptional sphere.

Facilities 4/10 Upon our arrival in the hotel we discovered a leakage in our room and water dripping onto our floor. After we informed the reception, they said they will fix it. Apparently this meant for them to wipe it dry with the guest towels without replacing the towel. Only after we have complained twice we were offered to change the room for ONE night so that the maintenance could fix the leakage. The gym is a nightmare, the majority of equipment is out of order. The natural pool is not safely accessible (see pictures).
Location 9/10 The location is great. You have a nice seaview and beautiful sunsets.
Food 3/10 We experience the food to be very one-sided. In the end this is subjective, but what is not is that the hygiene at the buffet is not very good. You see birds at the breakfast buffet. The food lies in the warm and is covered by very old plastic covers. The food at the burger bar is actually quite good but it is only open a couple of hours. You cannot get dinner there.
Service 3/10 The service was extremely poor. I am really confused by the good reviews stating that the staff is so mindful. Despite the issue we had with our room and the staffs reluctancy to solve the problem, the service was not existent. There is no staff going around the hotel areas to ask if you want to drink something. Even if you are sitting by the bar. You have to go up to the bar and order it yourself. Some staff was giving us the feeling the were annoyed that they had to fix us a drink. Only after we have raised our complaints to the agency and the hotel, the director became aware of the situation. He was trying to make immense for the past days and declared us to their special guest. Even though they really tried to make up for it (inviting us for lunch, giving a 50% discount on the drinks) it was already too late for us. We experience most of the staff to be unfriendly.
Apparently many others feel different about this hotel. It may be that we very extremely unlucky with a bunch of events. Just be warned and informed about our experiences in this hotel…

Firstly, we paid for a superior room, there was nothing superiod about it. Was really small and amenities were below average 3* hotel. The quality and spread of veg food was very poor throughout our trip, barring a couple of dishes. The service was really bad. The AC made a lot of noise, there was a rat in the room, bedsheets were not changed, they refused to provide empty plates and spoons to our room flatly. The date night organized was really average, food quality and service was pathetic, we left it midway. Overall would not suggest anyone to opt for anelia. There are better options available for a similar price.

I thought the grounds were beautifully maintained, there were always staff tending to them. The infinity pool is a great photo opportunity, although the water in the ocean is less cold! There are lots of pretty areas with sun beds in them, it’s not just all focussed around the pool, and the parasols are steady as a rock. It was pretty windy while we were there and the parasols were steady as a rock.
The food was amazing, lots of choices, very flavoursome curries, excellent range of salads, plus meat and fish on the grill. My favourite was the pancakes with chocolate sauce, available every morning and afternoon. The lamb burgers in the burger bar were another favourite, and my partner loved the fish curries. This is the first time we have been all inclusive and we were very happy. I like a lot of soft drinks during the day and there was plenty of juice and water available, plus a few cans in the mini bar. We also indulged in the cocktails, and the local wine was excellent. We had a lovely candlelit meal for two on the beach, well not quite candlelit because there was a breeze and the candle didn’t stand a chance, but a lovely salad, seafood platter and a heart shaped cake in a beautiful romantic setting.
I must mention also the staff who were just wonderful, I could not fault the customer service. I felt that they were all focussed on making sure we had a lovely holiday, and we were constantly told to ask if there was anything we needed. They arranged a couple of tours of the island for us, much cheaper than our tour operator. We also went out on the glass bottomed boat, which is free. It’s only a half hour trip, which really suits me because I get seasick easily, so we were out and back before I started to feel queasy and we saw some beautiful fish plus some rays, starfish and coral. Due to the wind we were unable to go out on the snorkelling boat trip, and they wouldn’t let us borrow masks to just go out in the bay so it’s worth taking gear with you or buying some in the town.
Flic-en-Flac beach is very appealing. It has swimming areas marked out with buoys, but there is broken coral everywhere so you need water shoes for swimming and walking on the beach.
I thoroughly enjoyed yoga on the beach. I’ve often done Pilates with some kind of soothing music in the background, but you can’t beat a session to the sound of the actual ocean.
