Nestled in a picturesque and tranquil beachfront location, Sands Suites Resort & Spa garners high praise for its plethora of amenities including well-kept gardens, a pristine swimming pool, and various water sports. Guests commend the exceptional staff for their attentive and personalized service, enhancing the hotel's relaxing atmosphere, complete with live music. The hotel in general is super clean! The entire complex from over the infinity pool to sauna in the spa, which can be used free of charge, is kept very clean. On arrival you were greeted very friendly, you brought the suitcases to the room and served a welcome cocktail. Furthermore, one was shown the plant and explained everything essential.
Room service came twice a day always with fresh water bottles. Also the hotel's own beach has been very well maintained and you were served excellently from the beach lounger, whether lunch or a drink by the sea or pool, everything was no problem, it was brought to you to the lounger. The ''pool boys'' who were responsible for this were extremely attentive and polite (cleaning sunglasses, putting towels etc.)
Also the waiters in the restaurants were extremely friendly, non-intrusive and very attentive. Personally, I have NEVER experienced such a great service. The rooms are very large and spacious (standard room), walk-in closet, separate toilet and two watch basins. The bathrooms are a bit old yet very clean and well maintained. The hotel location is a bit off and you already need a rental car or you have to walk a few minutes to the bus stop (15min). But that's exactly what makes the hotel so quiet. The fitness area is also perfectly adequate and offers everything you need.

The only two notes I have are the prices of drinks and food at half board. The drinks are definitely overpriced (Cappuccino 6€, Poke Bowl 19€). And another point which is very important to me, free water! Except for the two water bottles (0.5 litres) per person, you do not get water for free. I think that at least still water should be served free of charge when eating as well as there should be refill station, which is sustainable and contemporary. Especially since there is no supermarket near the hotel where you can buy water. You are always forced to buy the expensive water in the hotel. We have already passed this on at the reception on departure, hopefully this will help.

My husband and I just spent a little under a week here as part of our honeymoon and it was absolutely wonderful! The resort is nestled at the end of the beach which makes it somewhat private feeling.

Every room seems to have a balcony and view of the ocean, there are also plenty of chairs on the beach and also around the pool. It was too windy on our trip to fully make use of the beach but we did see people swimming and on the calmer days even kayaking. We were able to enjoy the pool though as it seemed to be heated and felt comfortable!

We also very much enjoyed the spa, the gym, and the buffet/restaurants.

We loved that you could use the sauna/jacuzzi/steam room for free and could book an appointment so it was private. I also absolutely loved my mud wrap treatment- I had never done one before but highly enjoyed it.

The people here are also absolutely wonderful, always making sure we were enjoying ourselves and comfortable! One thing I really appreciated that I’ve never experienced is they have you pick a specific time for your room cleaning and turndown service so you knew exactly when to expect people to be in your room. This was great!

We also truly enjoyed the buffets at both breakfast and dinner! It was always a good mix of food and different every day! We also loved that when it wasn’t windy that you could eat outside closer to the beach or you could eat under cover but still enjoy the views! Only negative was having to pay for water at dinner but it wasn’t a huge deal. We went with the half board option which worked out well since we were usually away from the resort at lunch, the days where we were there we ate at one of the restaurants which was also very good and just charged it to our room.

We also worked with hello islands to book various excursions though the resort does have a concierge who I’m sure also could have booked activities for you!

We are finishing our vacation in Mauritius and we are fully satisfied with our excellent stay at Sands.

The welcome was very warm and smiling when we arrived early in the morning (thank you Brenda!).

The staff is numerous, present and attentive to our needs, always friendly, smiling and very kind (special mention to Soudesh for his advice and Nitin at the restaurant).

The view from the hotel over Tamarin Bay and Morne Brabant is incredible (and all the rooms overlook the sea)!
The hotel is on a human scale (less than 100 rooms), which allows you not to feel drowned in the crowd, and it is very quiet (it is located in the very south of Flic en Flac, at the very end of the beach de Wolmar - for those looking for the city's festive atmosphere and proximity to shops, you won't find that at Sands, but Flic en Flac beach is 5 minutes away by taxi).
The architecture of the common areas is sober, simple and tasteful (nothing ostentatious).

We were able to have connecting rooms as desired and requested before our stay, and they were available upon our arrival in the morning.
The rooms are spacious, including when the sofa is extended for a 3rd child (conversely the room provided for changing and taking a shower on the day of departure while waiting for the transfer seemed a little cramped to us).
The bedding is of very good quality (king size bed) including the sofa bed, and the double curtains are good blackout, daylight does not filter through.
The bathroom is very large with 2 sinks, a shower and a bathtub + a dressing room with a large capacity.

Regarding catering:
The breakfast is plentiful and varied (the waffles are delicious!)
Possibility of having lunch at the bar restaurant for lunch or on the beach by the water
The theme of the evening buffet varies each day of the week and the choice of food is vast (a small regret: not being able to have fresh fruit for dessert). The staff is still very available.

Many water activities are offered (paddle, kayak, pedal boat, sailing, etc.). It’s a real chance to be able to learn water skiing in such an idyllic setting: the Tamarin bay on one side and the Rempart mountain behind the hotel and always Morne Brabant in the background.

The spa is very welcoming, the atmosphere cozy and calm and the staff attentive to our needs (a suggestion: why not put a little essential oil in the hammam and sauna to perfume the place a little?)

We had a wonderful and relaxing stay at the Sands and this hotel really has everything a five-star hotel has to offer.
We will keep unforgettable memories of it and we can only recommend it.

A big thank you to all !

Really worth all the money! We'd be happy to come back anytime!
We really enjoyed our days here because you're pampered from the start. You get a very warm welcome and everything is shown and explained to you in detail. The staff is super friendly, helpful and very professional. The rooms are very stylishly furnished and spacious. In the morning there is normal room service and in the evening the bed is prepared for you, the towels in the bathroom are made again and you get a little bedtime treat. There is a boat house where you can book lots of activities (including water skiing) that are expensive fun elsewhere. There are also game boards, a library, darts, boules and table tennis. The buffet is usually delicious and has a large selection.
We will always look back on our stay with great pleasure!

I am sad not to be able to give a five star review, especially as it is not the hotels fault. I wanted to give 4.5! Starting with the excellent, the staff are super helpful, friendly and professional and they immediately resolve any issues with above expectation outcomes so thank you sands for resolving small issues for us, the best service we have had. Rooms are lovely, very spacious and gorgeous views… you cannot fault! Food and drink offerings were also fab and we felt good value, we had drinks at some of the other hotels along this beach and they were either no where near as good or very expensive! Water sports readily available and the gym had good facilities. People do like to reserve sun loungers at this hotel, not the hotels fault but perhaps more could be done to stop this. We watched beds with towels on sat empty for hours on end, while other guests wandered round looking for places to sit. There is currently a lot of construction along the beach road leading up to and right outside this hotel, beyond their control and not the only hotel it is impacting however, the first room we arrived to there was the loudest pneumatic drilling going on directly outside! Definitely not the peaceful holiday we wanted after 20 hours of travel, the staff immediately changed our room to the other side with no noise, had they have been full and not able to do this the noise would really have been an issue to the point of moving hotel. This also meant we were unable to use the spa most days because the treatment room again backs on to the construction site. You can also hear low levels of noise all day if you are sat at the far end of the right side of the property on the beach and by the pool, not the end of the world and will not bother everyone but I think it’s important for people to be aware while this is happening, perhaps this is due to finish very soon… I hope so as without this our stay really would have been faultless. I am surprised no one else has mentioned it! We hired a car for a few days organised from the hotel and this was well worth it to see other beaches, good price through hotel and easy to navigate the island. Once the construction is complete we wouldn’t hesitate in returning and we would have given 5 stars for sure!

Very friendly welcome, we were shown straight to our room and everything was explained to us there. Our room request was fulfilled, we have rarely had such a practical room as here, even though we travel a lot. Everything has been freshly renovated, very good beds. The friendliness of the staff was exceptional, on the second day we were addressed by name and room number. The location of the restaurant is beautiful, almost on the beach. At first we were disappointed with the small buffet and the food, rather tasteless, you have to add seasoning to everything, there are a few dressings. The kitchen is a shortcoming. Unfortunately there is no entertainment apart from bar music, which was unfortunately too loud. There is none in the town either, you can save yourself the trip to Flic. On the beach you even get an ice bucket for your own water and your glasses are cleaned, great service. I think the island lives from the friendliness of the residents, there are certainly nicer beaches, but not such friendly people.

Although the overnight flight was difficult and long it did mean that we arrived nice and early! I was overwhelmed by the entrance of this hotel! The ‘framed’ view of the infinity pool, sea and Le Morne mountain was breathtaking! We were greeted warmly and escorted to our suite. Again, another beautiful vista from our floor 2 balcony. A cold vanilla drink was served while information given. The suite was lovely, bright, spacious and spotless.
The hotel has 3 restaurants, we tried all three and all were great. Spices had a small a la carte menu ( I do wish they changed it weekly though), Pink peppercorn had lovely grilled dishes, especially fresh fish and Tamarind Terrace had nightly themed buffet. The Dolphin Bar also served lunches/snacks which were cooked fresh to order and were delicious and very reasonably priced as were the cocktails and drinks!
The gardens were nicely kept ( it was their winter so not many blooms about) with many varieties of flora. I also enjoyed the variety of birds, fruit bats, lizards, snails and chorus of frogs in the evening! The safe swimming was great for snorkelling and had free use of the water sports.
We spent time relaxing and seeing the sights of this beautiful island!
Last but by no means least… the service was exceptional! From start to finish, the team were welcoming, polite and were happy to meet all our requirements. I have never felt so valued in any other hotel I’ve stayed.
I will not name individuals, because every single person at the Sands deserve a mention, including the ones behind the scenes, they should all be very proud of the fantastic service they provide! We thank you all very, very much for making our stay exceptional!!

From the moment you arrive you are treated to the wonderful views of the bay and mountains, including beautiful sunsets

All the amazing staff make this such a special hotel, it is located at the very end of Flic en Flac therefore not really anywhere to walk too!! only along the beach or through the adjoining woods during the day! but there are plenty of taxis cars to take you into flic en flac or beyond if you wish to explore the beautiful island the concierge Kashan was happy to arrange a trip of all the places we wanted to visit at a reasonable cost

The hotel due to its location is great for a quiet relaxing holiday with attentive staff always on hand to chat and help in any way they can from management to reception staff, bar staff, restaurant staff the beach lads the boathouse crew the gardeners and the cleaning staff everyone is so lovely and friendly so many to name individually but Yhaz guest relations girl and everyone else constantly made sure we were enjoying ourselves

It was our anniversary whilst there and our evening table was decorated with petals and a cake was brought out to us thank you for the special touch

Our only suggestion could be to have a bit more variety in menu choice as both Spices and Pink Peppercorn have the same menu every day and the main buffet menu is the same each day on a weekly basis ! If your staying two weeks it does become a bit repetitive

It did become very windy during our stay which staff told us was very unusual as they are just going into Summer, it’s mostly a lot calmer in the bay with only gentle breezes ! we did choose the west coast for this reason so were just unlucky or their Cyclone season just like the rest of the world weather is changing ?

From the moment we arrived, we felt as though this was a special place to stay. After ten nights, we still felt the same. The staff had great customer service ethics. Nothing was too much trouble. In fact, they really wanted to do everything for you and not let you lift a finger. The hotel is the last along the coastal road from Flic en Flac, so it was very peaceful and didn't have people walking up and down the beachfront like the other hotels did. The sand was cleaned literally every day. Watersports and outings were freely available. Between us, we made use of the glass bottomed boat, water skiing, a pedalo, and kayaks. The swimming pool and surroundings are lovely and clean, with the staff from the bar checking in on you, helping with the towels and umbrellas in a completely non pushy way, considerately and consultative rather than selling. The views out across Tamarin Bay are beautiful and changing with the weather. We went out on a boat and saw dolphins swimming just a few hundred metres from the hotel. The gardens are glorious and well kept. Our suite had great views from our balconies, the bathroom was well appointed with a separate shower, w.c. bath, dressing room and two washbasins. The restaurant had a great choice each morning and evening, with staff checking in and offering alternatives, as appropriate. Above all, I can not emphasise enough how great the staff were, especially Ashvin, Brenda, Vishal, Sandia, Vick and James, as well as those who I didn't catch their name.

Sands Suites Resort and Spa blew us away with how amazing our stay here was. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful and the attention to detail and care for customers was above and beyond. Staff would set your towels up for you on your sun bed in the morning, come around to clean your sunglasses, offer you a five minute massage by the pool, and we’d go away for an hour and come back to our water bottles in an ice bucket etc. The rooms were beautiful - cleaned about 3 times a day, mini fridge prices reasonable and restocked daily. The hotel had a great atmosphere and the pool never felt too busy. Activities on offer (SUP, kayak, snorkelling etc) were great and well organised. We also used the gym 3 times and it was nicely air conditioned. We had massages which were lovely and the spa and sauna area are free to use. On our check out day we were allowed to use all the facilities until our taxi came at 5:45pm and they even booked us a shower room at 5pm where we were provided with towels and a lovely private space to get ready for our flight home. Everything felt like great value for money - especially considering that we stayed one night at the Sofitel next door which was more expensive and we didn't get nowhere near the service or provisions that we did at Sands Suites. Would not hesitate to stay here again and recommend it to family and friends. Massive thank you to all staff for how well we were looked after. Special "Shout Out" to Vishal who even sent us a WhatsApp message to check we'd made it home okay and to wish us a merry Christmas - but really, every single member of staff deserves a shout out for being so amazing.
