This newly renovated hotel looks amazingly beautiful. In particular, the garden is a gem with diverse plants. Some areas seemed redone and plants need further growth, but the area with established trees and flowers are so nicely designed and the pond linked with the pool area is lovely.

The Flic en Flac beach itself is picturesque. The sea is shallow for swimming or snorkeling, so it’s important to check and wait for the high tide. This long beach was better for a hike. For swimming, we mostly used the pool. The adult pool is beautiful and calm. There are plenty of beach chairs on the beach and around the swimming pools.

All restaurants and bars look posh and provide foods and drinks of high quality at reasonable prices. The hotel offered a variety of live music and performances for lunch time and evening entertainment. I particularly loved to listening to lovely songs mixed with the sound of waves at the bar next to Les Coquillages.

The spa is under reconstruction so sauna and steam room are not expected to be around until end of December 2023. Massages were available in two designated guest rooms with massage beds or on the beach. I preferred the one on the beach.

Staff members were welcoming, friendly and helpful.

There are wild life such as lizards, birds, frogs and cats. Don’t get scared by the frog chorus in the evening. Unlike European ones, they stop singing around midnight. And according to our search they help controlling mosquitoes. On rainy days and in the evening, baby frogs can hop around, so mind your steps.

We’re currently staying at Hilton Mauritius Resort & Spa.

On arrival, we were greeted with a welcome drink and instead of having to queue at re working, we were sat on outside sofa’s enjoying the view and attended to personally by reception/guest services. Perfect introduction on arrival.

The initial room we were given was a little close to the evening entertainment (personal preference) so we were eventually moved to a more quiet room (2015) near the adult pool.

We agreed to pay the upgrade costs of 2,200 Rs per evening but it was well worth it and highly recommend doing this as these are refurbished rooms in a much quieter part of the resort.

Free water is limited which is a shame and you’re ONLY allowed one towel per person... bit different from other resorts on the island but it works.

The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. The food is brilliant and the restaurants cater for all tastes and ages.

The beach is lovely and not too crowded. Make sure you bring paddling shoes as there is a lot of coral and rocks on the beach.

Shame there’s not any waiter service to the sun beds as we’re good tippers and would like the odd round of drinks or lunch as we’ve come on half-board basis. First world problems!!!

The refurbed rooms are really nice, modern and everything you need. Nice bathroom. Big TV and movie channel for when you come off the beach and want to relax!

So far we love it here and would come back anytime.

The hotel, when we entered the room was very clean , but it smelt like a very strong perfume but we got used to it , we had a pot of noodles which were very hot so we thought it was just made. The room was huge there were two beds in each room (2 bedrooms and a hall). The best part was outside , where thee was a huge garden where you could even picnic. And behind there was a beach where you had seasports available. To take you to places you could call service and they would drive you there in a golf cart. The food is very good and cheap and drinks are free. At night they have LED lights everywhere and for kids they have a children’s care to sit . Kids also can ride on the golf cart for free. There is a massive pool which is cold or warm depending on the weather. The beach is a very calming place too.

We really enjoyed our 8 night stay here. The location is good with a nice beach and the tropical views that you would hope for. It's not the biggest or smartest hotel on this stretch of beach but for the price we paid it was excellent. One of the real features of the hotel are the staff who are smiling, charming and professional but also get things done. They are all well versed in their roles and well managed to provide such service. Our room was fine with a good sized bathroom with bath and shower. Large TV which had mostly local channels so no BBC, Sky or CNN. We had a ground floor room near the quieter adults pool which is a location I'd recommend unless you have children the the same ground floor rooms near the main pool would be good. The rooms lead out onto the gardens and then the pools which is excellent. The Hibiscus bar at the adult pool was really good with excellent staff and a very popular happy hour at 5.00pm which coincided with sunset at 6.00pm. There was a later happy hour in the Vista bar so it was quite possible to drink half priced cocktails for most of the evening. In addition, as Diamond Hilton Honors members we were given a voucher for daily cocktails and snacks which was much appreciated. The beach front restaurant was good for lunch and dinner (when open). Perhaps our only concern was the lack of A La Carte dining options for dinner. The Thai restaurant was closed during our stay and the beach restaurant not always open. We actually ate out several times which was easy to do with a local taxi. I think the hotel is just getting back to normal and the restaurants should be properly open going forward. The Thai restaurant did open on the day we left and the staff generously arranged for us to meet the chef and try one of the dishes before we left. A nice touch, Overall a very good stay assisted by the excellent staff.

From the moment we arrived with a large "Gong", we were made to feel very special at this Resort. Maria from the Reception staff had already been in email contact with us clarifying our arrival details and showed us personally to our room.

We had a wonderful room with a view of the infinity pool, gardens and the beach. The gardens here are particularly beautiful and this pool is designated "adult" which made it very restful.

Mai Ling made herself known to us from Housekeeping and kept our room spotless and was very friendly every time our paths crossed.

We ate twice in the theme nights in the main dining room. The food was varied and plentiful. Breakfast was very good also.

We ate in the Ginger Thai twice (my birthday the first time, when I was sung to and given a birthday cake) and the last night, when my husband's favourite dessert of Mango & Sticky Rice was prepared specially.

We also ate in Les Coquillages, the lamb rack was particularly good. The staff made us feel very special eating in such a nice location right on the beach.

We also had breakfast on the beach laid on specially which was a highlight of our trip.

There are three bars, one by the infinity pool, a beachfront bar and the main bar upstairs which was showing the World Cup. We took a pedalo out on two occasions and my husband used the flippers available from the beach staff.

There were three weddings while we stayed and this looked idyllic and seemed very well catered for by the Hotel.

The Mixologist and head barman Damian, Noemie and the other bar staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Every evening the torches are lit around the gardens by members of staff and from the upstairs bar you get a great vantage point to watch this, with the stupendous sunsets as a backdrop it is magical.

There is a bus station next to this resort and I would recommend you get the bus to Flic en Flac as it is a bit far to walk and the bus is very cheap. Also if you want to visit Port Louis it takes around 45 minutes and is around £1. The local shopping centre Cascavelle is on the way to Port Louis and although not extensive was nice to look around.

We went to Chamarel Rhummerie and the local Bird Park Casella, with a taxi arranged by the Hotel. Both trips were very good and I would recommend as a change from the beach or if the weather is a bit cloudy.

Hemkesh one of the Managers stopped us whenever he saw us around the Hotel to enquire if we were enjoying ourselves and if there was anything anyone could do to improve our time there.

The only thought we did have, was if you are bed and breakfast, as we were, although there is room service and snacks available during the day, no bar food option was available, if you did not want to go to one of the restaurants for a full meal.

We did eat in Flic en Flac a couple of lunchtimes which was pleasant.

If you are thinking of staying at this Resort I would highly recommend and wish you a pleasant stay.

Having travelled to over 130 countries I don't usually take time out to write reviews but feel compelled to commend this establishment for its professionalism and charm.
Much has already been written about what the hotel has to offer but I would like to mention the small things important to frequent travellers: the soap dish in the shower often lacking, efficient beside reading lamps, noiseless air con, proper hangers for example. The attention to detail is ubiquitous from building mainetance to room cleaning and above all by restaurant staff who meticulously clear tables and restore food items as they run down.

Personally I am not a fan of buffets but the layout is outstanding with individual side areas creating avenue of personal space. Ginger Spice has proven to be my outstanding ding venue of dining choice for setting and menu. A bonus has been the opportunity to dine with my feet in the sand in Les Coquilages as we have so often done in Thailand over the years.

Some say the hotel is expensive but I think room and food prices are reasonable in today's post pandemic world. If permitted a negative comment, I would ask whether loud evening music is a major attraction for either parents with young children or guests n their later years.

So thank you Hilton and your myriad of ever present delightful staff for encouaging 2 80 year olds to believe we're still young enough to delay taking up pipe and slippers yet.

Just finished a 10 night stay here. The hotel was fairly quiet due to the corona virus issues. However, that aside, we thoroughly enjoyed our time here. It has excellent facilities and is right on the beach, though we found the sand quite corally and a little sore to walk on as you went into the sea. Free boat excursions to see the dolphins and several other watersports like kayaks and pedalos. We liked the Thai restaurant although a little expensive and the breakfast was good, but we found the evening buffet meals a bit disappointing and not great value for money. We were staying bed and breakfast and went out for dinner most nights with plentiful restaurants and a couple of bars nearby in the village. We took advantage of happy hour, enjoying cocktails and watched the excellent live bands playing nightly. Special thanks to Julianna in the bar for looking after us so well. The only negatives we found were the evening buffet meals and general slow paced service though the staff themselves were excellent. Worst thing for us though
was that everything shut down at 10.30 PM. We felt that at least one bar in the hotel should have stayed open later to allow people to finish off their night if perhaps they had been out for dinner like ourselves. On the whole though, a lovely hotel in a good location and lovely friendly staff.

We can’t recommend spending any money on this Hilton property - you’ll be thoroughly disappointed. There’s literally no service at all. It’s only our 2nd day and are already annoyed, have had to repeatedly ask for basic service and do the job of staff. They missed cleaning on the first day (although specifically asked), while doing room service had to remind to replace cups and spoons. Plug in bathroom not working, had to ask over and over and still not fixed. Hairdryer in room not working due to missing / incorrect plug. On top of that had to ask for Diamond voucher (and seems have to remind staff daily). Those are simple basic services - if you can’t get this right you shouldn’t run a hotel - and it’s certainly not the job of the guest to remind staff at all times. Regardless of status and length/room of stay, this is simply basic service every guest should expect. Besides that, rooms are very old and run down, at check in we had hairs in the bath tub. There’s a price list for the mini bar but the fridge is empty. Overall very disappointing. If you’re looking for basic services and a nice room to stay in this Hilton property will let you down. At least this is guaranteed. Very, very disappointing. Regrettably.

I understand nature will be nature but to be a great facility I think guests should not have to be concerned with ants and geckos in their rooms. I also feel the dining areas should be kept clean of birds and their droppings specifically where people are seated.
The staff is fantastic and they do go out of the way to accommodate guests. Bars should/could stay open later, maybe a simple piano bar for after hours, just a suggestion.
The pools and beach is very nice, location is good as well.

Dear Mike_Montanye, Warmest greetings from Hilton Mauritius Resort & Spa. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience on TripAdvisor. We regret your encounter with small insects in your room; we do ensure the hotel is free from harmful insects and we have regular inspections done by a pest control specialist. Our resort being surrounded by a lush garden and all patios and corridors being in open-air, it might be possible to find occasionally, small harmless insects around. Moreover, we have taken good note of your comments regarding the birds. We are also very much concerned by this matter; we would like to advise that we are trying different solutions with local and international specialists to reduce this inconvenience in an environmental friendly way. Meanwhile, we have emphasized to our restaurant staff to increase their vigilance with this regards. On another note, we are glad to read that you appreciated our location, the hotel facilities and the helpfulness of our team members. Thank you again for sharing your feelings with us, we look forward to have the opportunity welcoming you back at the Hilton Mauritius Resort & Spa. Yours faithfully, Jacques Brune General Manager Hilton Mauritius Resort & Spa

We stayed here for 7 nights and thoroughly enjoyed each day of our stay. We are family of four with two kids. We had booked two interconnecting family rooms and were pleasantly surprised to find ourselves upgraded to higher level interconnecting rooms on check in. We reached late in the night and the hotel was thoughtful to keep plates of cold cuts and fruits in our rooms. These pretty much set the tone for the rest of our stay!

The property has nicely manicured lawns, a small but active kids club (which my 8 yr old daughter can vouch for!) and a lovely pool. The water temperature was optimally regulated and was pretty scenic as the water flowed under small bridges with mini waterfalls gushing in.

Contrary to some poor reviews on the beach, we found it nice and clean and thoroughly enjoyable. There were a bit of seaweed but nothing extensive. The hotel had free water sports facilities like snorkelling, paddleboat, kayaking etc and the boat house was manned by really friendly and helpful folks. The sea is quite placid so may be a bit of dampener for some folks, but for families likes ours with kids, it was just right. Lot of sun decks on the beach and hotel staff ensure very prompt service of food and drinks on request.

We had booked half board and hence availed of the breakfast and the dinner buffets. The food variety during dinner was excellent, with a special mention of the array of desserts on offer. While the breakfast range of options was comparatively limited, it was sufficiently varied to meet our expectations during a week’s stay! Lunch options are much more limited - pizzas, pasta, burgers, sandwiches and salads etc.

The room we stayed in was quite spacious, with a nice balcony overlooking the garden. Other rooms had a better and a more direct sea view, but we were generally happy with the room and its amenities.

The staff everywhere were quite friendly and cheerful – made us feel at home.
There are quite a few activities to keep the kids entertained during the day. There are musical performances in the evening to regale the guests as well. There are tennis courts and arrangements can be made for badminton, table tennis as well.

There was one aspect worth looking into though. There is a public beach right next to the hotel and entry from there into the hotel is not restricted. As a result, the security personnel doing their rounds randomly keep asking guests whether they belong to the hotel and which room are they staying in. I found myself being asked thrice during my stay, while I didn’t find Caucasians being meted the same treatment. Makes one feel like a second citizen. Am sure there are better ways to ensure that outside public is not encroaching into the hotel property, instead of “randomly” asking guests whether they are residents of the hotel.
