We visited the Lux Belle Mare a third time in January 2020 (as one cannot select a date older than a year) I am mentioning it this way although January 2021 is displayed. A third unforgettable experience of excellence, hospitality and a standard not yet seen anywhere else although my husband and I do travel quite a bit and tend to opt for the luxury options whenever we do. This hotel keeps standing out in distinction. We stayed at the hotel at the time of the beginning of the COVID pandemic and appreciated the hygienic and cautious approach of hotel staff. A year and a half of this third visit later, the following memories of this high standard hotel still remain (we have been wanting to write a review for some time but havent gotten round to doing so earlier): 1) the fresh, natural and homemade options at the breakfast and dinner buffets which we have not seen anywhere else. In particular the fresh exotic fruits and juices at breakfast, home made naan bread in a clay oven. Curries and stews that are out of this world and grilled meat options which make grill restaurants pale in comparison. And the desserts are nothing less than michelin star quality. Each one an individual masterpiece of art. And we cant forget the smile of Mr Aktar Jafferally which can light up the whole room. 2) The room service twice a day which elevates this hotel above others. 3) An attentive room division manager Ms Sheila Malloo who really walks the extra mile tirelessly to ensure that guests are comfortable and relaxed. Sheila: How can we say thankyou for all your hard work and ways in which you made us feel special and welcome? We consider you a national treasure! 4) The Lux Coffee: The flat white - unforgettable and in the morning before breakfast the one thing that is worth waking up earlier for. The fresh roast - literally - is a unique experience. 5) the sand that is so soft it feels like playdough under the feet. Bare feet never burn due to its moisture content. We cant wait to travel to this hotel again. We hope to be able to do so in the next months. Then it will be our fourth visit!!…
I am a year and a bit overdue writing this review (holiday 12 March to 22 March 2020) but thought I needed to say how appreciative we were at the excellent customer service we received amid the beginning of lockdown restrictions in Mauritius. The hotel manager and all the staff who multitasked in different roles, especially the single operating restaurant, continued to offer a 5* service with the greatest of humility, not once complaining or showing struggle during an unprecedented time. Thank you and well done!
Overall services were fantastic. We enjoyed our 2-nights stay. Rooms were clean, spacious and the beds were super comfy. Prompt responses for housekeeping. Great variety of food. One of the best beaches to relax and enjoy a good swim in the sea. Top-class treatment.
Excellent stay and amazing staff. Buffets had a wide food variety and food quality was great overall (except for the naans and seafood kebabs which were rather average). The spa was nice as well, although the session was slightly too short but understandable due to high season. What we really liked: - The two-seat tables at Mixte have such a romantic view, particularly at dinner - The attentiveness of the staff - The bathroom amenities were simply a class above What we disliked: - The cleanliness of the in-room coffee machine was not on point - LUX Belle Mare having only 1 pool meant that the pool area was always quite busy and rarely had any free spots
We had a fantastic stay in this beautiful resort, the staff were incredible, very nice and welcoming, willing to go the extra mile to make us feel special. We stayed during Valentine's day and it was simply amazing, the buffet during the dinner was the best either of us had ever had, the owner of the restaurant was very customer service orientated and a pleasure to meet. There are many activities that you can do and the place is very clean. Special thanks to Sam at the LUX cafe and the rest of the staff that made our stay a wonderful time.
