Hospitality: amazing. So friendly. In particular Ramesh, Godswill and Oliver at the bar. Jenny, Rahul and Corine at breakfast were amazing. Room: super spacious and modern. Enough room even with a cot Pool and beach area: clean, lots of beds around Food: The buffet was the best. Great variety and good quality food. Chef Prakash made sure our dietary requirements were catered for. Nice area to chill out in the evening with live music. Family friendly pool with sloped area for little ones to play. Overall highly impressed and would definitely return.

Long Beach Mauritius Review - fantastic hotel We have just returned home from our holiday 31/08/23 - 08/09/23 at the Long Beach Hotel resort in Mauritius and we miss it so much already. The holiday was to celebrate our 6 year anniversary and I had emailed the hotel in advance to mention this. Board All Inclusive Resort The resort is absolutely beautiful, well attended to by the grounds staff and has spacious surroundings, lots of greenery with the backdrop of the Indian Ocean, Sandy white beaches and lush fruitful palm trees and blue skies. They are very sustainable and have an on site fruit/veg/flower garden plus a Nature Trail you can visit on your stay which include the hotels very own bee hives where honey is made for the hotel. The square in the middle of the hotel serves as a beautiful seating area in the evening and also doubles as a craft market and entertainment stage. Arrival On arrival we were greeted by the team with a lovely little cocktail drink and asked to take a seat in the beautifully designed lobby while everything about the hotel was explained to us. A lovely little one to one introduction rather than a mass meeting by a rep. Our room wasn’t quite ready (as I had secretly requested an ocean front junior suite upgrade (my wife originally booked a junior suite with beach access)) however this wasn’t an issue as there were two very well equipped family sized changing rooms near reception so we could freshen up, leave our cases and go and explore the hotel for a bit and also use the facilities if required. We were contacted via WhatsApp when the room was ready so no need to keep going and checking. The Room Luckily the upgrade I requested was available and we were put in our Junior Suite Ocean Front room. Wow, what a room. I’d already looked at the floor plan on the Long Beach website but in reality it was so much better. The bed was massive (enough to fit 4 people) and so comfy with plenty of room either side and at the foot of the bed. The bathroom had separate loo, bath and shower for added privacy while the double sink area was well sized and enough for both my wife and I to get ready together in the evenings which was lovely. All the usual amenities were included, mini bar , hair dryer, tv, tea and coffee making facilities, bath robes, slippers etc.. some of the mini bar was on the all inclusive such as the local beers, juice and milk and some small snacks which were replenished daily. From the room the patio doors lead to a private patio area consisting of a comfy double patio settee and a table and two chairs. A lovely grassy walkway lead direct from the patio area to the beach. Pure bliss. The food We found the food to be excellent at all times of the day. The hotel has 5 restaurants and 1 main Bar Le Marche restaurant - the main buffet restaurant for breakfast, Lunch and dinner (no need to book) Tides restaurant - Beautiful beach bar with Mauritian cuisine (evening booking recommended) Sapori restaurant - delicious Italian food and used as overflow for Le Marche at breakfast (evening booking recommended) Chopsticks restaurant- Chinese cuisine (evening booking recommended) Hasu restaurant - fantastic Japanese cuisine (evening booking recommended) this is the only restaurant where you have to pay (even on all inclusive however we were given a 900 rupee voucher to use). We had our anniversary meal here and it was out of this world so we were happy to pay for it. We were also surprised with the best table in the house (decorated for anniversary) looking over the main hotel square, free cocktail and a beautiful chocolate ganache to celebrate our anniversary which was a lovely touch. Elvis and Parmeet were our fantastic waiters and didn’t disappoint so thank you guys 👍🏼 Shores - the main bar where most people are drawn to after dinner. A lovely place to sit and have a drink during the day to cool off and in the evening it transforms into the entertainment hub for the hotel with quality live music every night and then a dj for the last hour or two. There are also some live acts on in the hotel square some evenings which are visible from Shores bar , Sapori and Hasu. In the evening we loved sitting out the back of Shores bar overlooking the garden and looking out for the massive fruit bats that would fly palm tree to palm tree. A sight to behold! Drinks The hotel has a great selection of drinks. The Thirsty Fox Weiss was my go to bottle of beer. We were very impressed with the selection of cocktails and other drinks you can get on all inclusive. It was way better than other places we have visited where you get a plastic beaker with half a watery beer in it. These are proper drinks. 🍻 🍸 . There are also water stations dotted around the resort to fill your water bottles which was very useful. Oh and if you haven’t already, try some Amarula. It’s like baileys with a twist. Pools Long Beach has two pools. The main pool is a good size, has crystal clear water and plenty of comfy sun beds and sun pods. There is also a pool bar so you can sit and have your drink with your feet in the pool. The other pool is an adults only infinity pool. Again with Crystal clear water it looks out straight onto the beach and ocean and is a lovely place to relax. There’s numerous sun pods here which are great for couples to cuddle up and catch the sun Activities The hotel has a number of land activities such as table tennis, tennis, gym etc.. none of which we used but they all looked in great keep. They also have a daily activity board where you can get involved in yoga, frisbee throwing, etc… they also offer a cocktail master class which we did on our anniversary day. It was fab and we learned a lot about the fruits, flowers, herbs that’s are used in the cocktails. Mauritius also has a lot of sugar cane plantations and so make a lot of their own rum , alot of which you can try in the hotel. We’d like to thank Arish and Sonish for making it a special treat for us. Obviously we got to drink the cocktails we made 😀. The hotel also offers a number of free water activities such as Kayaking, wind surfing, paddle boarding, paddle boating, glass bottom boat and snorkeling. These are all free, just go to the boat house on the beach behind Le Marche and speak to Nicolas the boat house manager or one of his team. They also offer paid activities like parasailing and underwater walk. We had a fab time making the most of the free activities. There’s also a beach bar opposite the boat house so you can get your all inclusive drinks from there too and enjoy the views (if Toory is on shift and you’re a Newcastle fan then let him know as he is one too and will quite happily show you his shirt collection). We spent a few hours drinking with the guys after they shut up for the day. It was great chatting with them and finding out about Mauritius from their point of view. What a top bunch of guys! Spa The spa is located near the hotels botanical garden and looked amazing but we didn’t get the chance to use it unfortunately. Staff The staff at this hotel are absolutely the best in the business. Pretty much every one you pass will say hello (they also place their hand on their heart) which makes it feel even more sincere. They’re very attentive and all want to make sure you’re having a good holiday and know that you’re ok. They honestly can’t do enough for you, it’s so nice to see. The Mauritian people really are the loveliest. Special thanks to Pratimah in guest relations who was instrumental in ensuring we had the best anniversary holiday, Arish, Sonish, Toory, Oliver Elvis, Parmeet and Isaac in the service team and Nicolas, Antony and his team in the boat house. Trips We didn’t use the hotel for excursions because we met a guy further down the beach outside Solana Hotel called Tony Pablo. We booked the North Tour and Catamaran trip with him. Both trips for 2 of us cost 16,000 rupees in total and we had two fun filled days. Other operators are available. Recommendations 1. Do use the free water sports. I get the feeling not many people know about this until the end of their holiday. It is mentioned in the welcome but I’m not sure people take it on board. Say hi to Nicolas from Andy and Emma and if your a toon fan give Toory a fist bump 👊🏼 2. If you need something, ask. The staff jump through hoops to help you. Pratimah in guest relations is a lovely young lady and will do whatever she can to help you enjoy your stay. 3. Book your evening meals with each of the restaurants at the start of your stay to make sure you get to experience what each one has to offer. 4. Try the Sante cocktail master class. 5. There are a number of sun beds and sun pods about the resort but there’s a lovely little cove section of beach that was out the back of our room (518) which had bean beds (I called them hippos cause they looked a bit like one). Head out to the beach from the hotel and turn left and keep walking, you’ll see them on your right. So comfy to lie on in a quiet spot. 6. Make use of the “Call Button”. Most of the thatched parasols have a Call Button. Press it and the guys will come and serve you food and drink all day. We spent a whole day on the beach and didn’t move 😂. Thanks Oliver and Isaac for your services. 7. Get your rupees at the airport as the hotel charge 7.5% commission. 8. Grab a pizza from Sapori (ask for takeaway) and eat it at the beach bar while having a drink , taking in the views and watching people fail at wind surfing 😂 9. Most of all enjoy. Long Beach Resort is by far the best hotel we have ever visited. Maybe it’s a seasonal thing but we didn’t have to fight for a sunbed once. Everything is so well spaced out there just seemed like there was plenty of space for everyone. So no need to rush out at 7am to get towels out 😂 (plus they also operate a 45 minute empty bed policy) not that we ever seen it imposed.

The Spa was exceptional especially the therapists and atmosphere. We chose a couples 2 hour treatment and the staff were very attentive to our needs and modified the treatment to our needs. Special mention goes to our two therapists Varsha and Karuna who were gracious, attentive and very professional.

My elderly Mum (90-yr old) and I stayed at the Long Beach for a week. The Hotel management and staff at the restaurant went beyond the call of duty to accommodate my Mum's mobility restrictions by providing us with a room with easy access, as well as a friendly and helpful room dining experience. Kudos and thank you! We will be back for sure! Keep it up!

Let’s start with some of the truly excellent parts of our stay. 1. The boat house. Nicholas, Eddie and the team there could not have been more brilliant! They are truly water sport experts. Nicholas was so kind when my daughter had a (very mild) jelly fish sting (they have little blue bottle ones here). Eddie took me and my son out on the hobbiecat for a sailing lesson. He was superbly patient and kind with him. Encouraging, chilled out and just a warm manner. 2. The kids club. My 4 and 9 year old enjoyed their time there so much. The ladies provide so much care. The best thing for us as parents was that they can eat there - lunch or dinner - you just need to book ahead. It meant we could enjoy a child free dinner when we wanted to! The activities are varied and set according to age group. Really very nice set up. 3. The snorkelling is incredibly good. A real surprise! Take the hotel boat out to the reef and you will not be disappointed. The coral is doing pretty ok and the marine life is wonderful. 4. A very comfy bed and good 2 bedroom accommodation for families. 5. Most staff are extremely helpful. Gaytree at tides looked after my husbands dietary needs most lunchtimes. 6. The beach buggies are handy for tired little legs to get back to your room. 7. The evening entertainment was lovely. Very chilled and natural - no big disco/cheesy holiday stuff but that was actually quite nice and the kids had a nice time making friends and looning around the piazza. 8. Hotel pool is warm and lots of different depths. 9. The fruit bats and birds and general feel of being in nature is a lovely vibe. Some good but should be improved upon aspects: 1. The decor in the rooms is dated and run down in my opinion. Just the rough around the edges repairs and some of the furniture has seen better days - see below. 2. The food if you have no allergies is pretty good actually. It is tasty - lots of curry if you like it. Lots of variety. Chopsticks was great and we had a nice meal in Hasu (paid extra as not in all inclusive). If they put up better labelling with allergens and kept diary free and gluten free dishes together for example this would be most helpful! Some awful aspects: 1. The mushroom table in the master bedroom - v unstable. Daughter sat on it upon arrival and it wobbled over - nasty scrapes to her back. 2. The table in the kids room (too big to move away) had very rough edges. Daughter cut her legs on it. 3. Wild dogs on the beach. One was a little bit aggressive - I think because its mate was in season. Also I stepped on some dog poo on the beach - yuk! 4. There is no allergen information at the buffet. I try to avoid dairy as it doesn’t agree with me but I had no information to support this. 5. Husband is gluten free. Very poor information available for him as above but the chefs did try to accommodate him and if we asked (had to be firm) they would cook him something special so he didn’t have to risk cross contamination at the buffet. There are some secrets like if you want a pizza from sapori, you need to order it a day ahead. Annoying! He was glutened at least once despite being incredibly careful. No gluten free pancakes at breakfast. He ate an omelette every single day for 12 days! 6. The hotel pool is filthy. I’ve no idea if they treat it but there were lots of reports of ear infections and tummy upsets around the hotel. 7. The hotel pool has lots of tiles missing and these are left around d the edges of the pool just in little stacks of glass. Also lots of edges to the pool that stick out. One child needed a stitch while we were there when they hit their head. Ours were ok but needed reminders to keep away from the edge when on the inflatable etc. 8. The wait for food at lunch time is extremely painful. So so slow at tides. Top tip would be to go to the beach hut for bento boxes if you have no dietary requirements. Generally very nice but nowhere near 5 star standard. Windy as it is on the east side. If you are looking to windsurf it would be amazing. La vanille where there are giant tortoises was a fantastic day out for the kids. April weather is much like at home but way hotter - very unpredictable - wind/rain at times. One day was a total wash out. Tips: Bento boxes for lunch. Kids club dinners. Included watersports at the boat house.

Overall we were overjoyed with our stay here. It was excellent, the service, facilities and food were all top notch, nothing was too much trouble for anybody and they were always happy to help. The blue bay and five island trip organised by Monica (who was always on the beach) was exceptional and I would highly recommend it.

We have just come back from Long Beach Mauritius feeling happy, refreshed and desperate to return! We are a family of 4 with children aged 5 and 3 and stayed for 11 nights. The kids were obsessed with the main pool which is perfect for children as it has lots of areas that are shallow for them to stand and play. The daily Aqua Gym in the pool is also a highlight for the adults, if you go definitely give it a go! The kids also loved the buffet with lots of their favourite foods to have each day. The staff were lovely, with a special mention to Samia who the kids were giving morning hugs to at breakfast by the end of the holiday. Samia also laid on a special breakfast table for my wife’s birthday, just wanted to say a big thank you to her. We had a family suite which we were pleasantly surprised how big it was and having a separate room with proper single beds for the children made the stay very comfortable. There was a little tiredness to the decor in the bathrooms but nothing that detracted from the holiday. We went all inclusive so enjoyed the array of drinks and food that were available from the pool and beach areas. There are a large selection of cocktails to try that are included, and they do bento boxes for an easy lunch on the beach if you don’t want to go to Tides for a sit down meal. The hotel feels very safe, we would leave our bags on the beach while getting our lunches! Finally, the pool area does get busy and the best beds do go early, however the beach always has lots of spare beds and we never failed to find somewhere to sit/lie and actually were surprised to hear the hotel was at full capacity as we never felt like there were too many people around us. It helps that the beach is so large! I can definitely recommend a stay here for families we had the best time, thanks Long Beach!

Beautiful hotel, beach and grounds, lovely food and good range options, friendly staff (especially Vini at Tides bar, Samia, Pamela, all the lovely ladies in kids club) and plenty of activities. A relaxed place, with excellent village square layout for kids to play in the evenings. Chopsticks was our favourite restaurant but all food was good and the AI has plenty of options (pages of cocktails). Would recommend the snorkelling trips and various water sports at the hote (included) and a visit to Ile aux cerfs not just for golf but perfect beaches. Wonderful trip for family of 4, kids 7 and 8. The weather is much better than the forecast suggests! ☀️

A stunning resort in an amazing location! The beach is beautiful, with coral and tropical fish that you can spend hours snorkelling around. Rooms are spacious and quite private. The restaurants were all great and we had some amazing dishes - particularly in Chopsticks and in Tides on the fish night where there was an incredible choice of seafood and some great entertainment. The best quality was the service where it seemed every single member of the staff were genuinely interested in giving us the best possible stay! In particular I'd like to mention Dani & Yudish at the Tides restaurant, Nilesh at Sapori, Shika & Nadia in guest services, Aidah at Chopsticks and Samia who served us multiple times at breakfast. We'll definitely be back!
