Nestled in a prime location with direct beach access, Veranda Palmar Beach Hotel is celebrated for its serene and welcoming atmosphere, underscored by professional entertainment and a homely vibe. Guests frequently commend the hotel's cleanliness, spacious rooms, and the variety of complimentary water activities, despite some noting the occasional noise and desire for more sunbeds. We had not visited this hotel previously so did not know exactly what toexpect - my husband uses a wheelchair so we need to choose carefully where we go. The staff at this hotel really were most helpful and considerate, anxious to please us and make our stay as comfortable as possible. They provided ramps where necessary so that we could access areas where there were steps. They were also very helpful when my husband used the pool, he does have limited mobility and each time we approached the pool there was always someone there ready to assist.

The hotel is quite small and has an intimate feel. There are only about 86 rooms, consequently the staff get to know the guests which makes it more personal.

Our air conditioned room was on the ground floor as we had requested, positioned close to the pool and pool bar which was convenient. The patio doors opened onto a private veranda, looking out across the pool and neat, nicely kept gardens.

There is a lovely beach with a buoyed-off safe area for bathing. There are also numerous beach and aquatic activities available, some of which are free.

The food in the restaurant is buffet style and we thought the quality and variety was very good. They also have an al a carte menu for which there is an extra charge. The restaurant staff were anxious to please and would try to oblige if you had any special requests.

It was a relaxing holiday and we would very much like to visit again. I am happy to recommend this hotel.

The staff are very friendly, especially Anoosha who kept saying "Hello Birthday Girl" to my daughter who celebrated her 21st whilst there, also Maureen, they gave her a cake during the evening meal, and sang Happy Birthday, and the whole restaurant joined in, it was adorable. We had a nice room, larger than expected, but for 3 of us, more coat hangers where needed and only 2 chairs provided on the terrace.
We booked a Dolphin trip through the hotel, highly recommended, early start, taxi leaves at 530 am. If you are thinking of doing any of the trips, bring Mauritian Rupees with you, to exchange money in hotel means an additional charge of 15%. Taxis are supplied by the hotel, and again cash is the method of payment, no Euros or dollars accepted, only Mauritian Rupeees
The hotel is located on a very long beach, which you can walk down to go to Belle Mar to buy souvenirs. Also recommended is the Pharmacy in Belle Mar if needed, very helpful staff.
A few areas to address maybe, at meal times, which are held over 3 hours, halfway through the food runs out and can take a while to refill, also when a "special" is on the menu, it makes for a long queue, resulting in not being able to access other hot food nearby. Salads area could do with a covering to avoid insects and birds.
Not enough sunbeds around the pool, but to be fair, not really much space for anymore, but the area could definitely do with more sun umbrellas.
Pool bar gets very busy, and can take a while to be served, especially with people having cocktails made, and coffee served. Probably could do with a self service station for coffee as they have at breakfast, so staff not run off their feet.
There is a creche on site which was well used, as many adults had a few toddlers
Would definitely return, great location, all inclusive, with an additional restaurant on the beach where you can have a 3 course meal for around £60 per person.

This quaint hotel set of the tropical shores with a private beach has enough luxury whilst still maintaining a community home style feel.

On arrival the front of house staff Yashveer, Kashi, Jonathan, and Beatrice to name a few settled us in to our room. Which was spacious enough for 2 adults and 2 children for us not to feel on top each other. Clean tidy and excellent housekeeping made it a comfortable stay.

Some of the reviews here do not rate the food in the restaurant. It was fair for a 3.5 star hotel there was enough variety and change with live grilling and pasta stations most nights. The service in the restaurant was excellent with nothing too much trouble from fries and pizza for the kids to cocktails from the main bar. Sunny, Manoj, Christophe, Anousha, Asha, Maureen and Chef Kumaren all made our dining experiences pleasant and fun.

The in house water sports were excellent. Robin, Navin and his team made sure when tides and currents were perfect for us to go out on kayaks, paddle boards and wind surfing. We also took a glass bottom boat to see the coral and wildlife. This was then topped when we went snorkelling with the team (remember to take some bread - the fish love eating it straight out of your hand).

The bar staff are friendly and always having a laugh. They also pour a mean double! Rohan, Elvis, Akshay, Akash and Abi all did a great job all holiday.

The hotel has its own in-house tour/excursion operator but there are also some that act on the beach with a variety of activities. We opted for the cheaper from the beach with a full day tour of the south and the 23 colours nature park - highly recommended.

The animation team also tried their best with Clive and Lucas putting on events through the day from darts, pool, beach volley ball and other activities including learning creole, Mauritian dancing and cooking demonstrations.

Charlene and Anais in the kids club were impeccable. The boys loved spending down time in there and going on little adventures. They were thoroughly entertained and well looked after.

In general a fantastic hotel, in a beautiful part of Mauritius. We’ll definitely be back.

We were in a large group occupying 7 rooms, so this review reflects a wide opinion. The rooms were small and dark with only a single set of French doors and no windows, so if you didn’t want air conditioning there was no cross-breeze and no ceiling fans. Even with the doors closed and the air conditioning on, everyone had mosquitos in the rooms; especially the bathrooms which always smelt damp. There was limited space to store clothes with no wardrobe or drawers; in fact there was very little furniture at all in the room. The pool was small given the number of guests and needed re-lining. The dining room was like eating In a canteen and lacked any atmosphere at all. The food was average at best; in fact the a la carte restaurant was even worse than the buffet. The coffee was awful; even the espresso based coffee (which they charge extra for) was poor. The beach is well provided with loungers and umbrellas.
I wouldn’t have any major problems with this hotel if they charged a reasonable price- but at the prices we paid, then everything needs to be MUCH better. I know Mauritius is expensive and that this hotel was reasonable given prevailing prices on the island, but in international terms it’s simply not competitive. There are plenty of places in the world offering a beach and a pool. The staff however were ALL wonderful, and are the only reason I did not give a worse review. Note that this review is more a comment on Mauritian hotels in general than the Palmar in particular, as I don’t think it is out of line with the local competition in its price bracket. But given what is provided at the prices charged, the conclusion is that Mauritian hotels are not internationally competitive.

Our second visit to this lovely hotel and we were not disappointed. From the moment we arrived, Nelson was waiting for us at the airport, check in was quick and efficient , we were allocated the room we had requested and just waited at the pool until it was prepared. The staff are amazing - it is unfair to pick out specific people because they are all friendly and efficient, but we would like to mention Maureen and Anouchka in the restaurant, Charente in the pool and beach bars and Jason and Kris at the beach. The snorkelling and glass bottom boat trips are lovely. We were made to feel so welcome, our room was beautifully cleaned every day with towel arrangements and flowers on the bed. Breakfast every day was great, lunch and dinner too, we enjoyed the cocktails and the evening entertainment is varied and good fun. We find it difficult to believe that anyone could complain about this hotel and we will certaintly be planning to return. Thank you everyone for giving us such a memorable holiday.

On the hotels website it looks stunning but in reality its just OK. The food was very repetitive, plenty of it but all very similar, no mobile food truck no food/snacks at the bar as advertised on their fact sheet. The rooms pretty standard. The entertainment was like any hotel entertainment, karaoke, singers, nothing that stands out. Water sports not great, they advertise electric sea scooter, floating sea lounge, floating volley pit and they don't have any of those, they do have a glass bottom boat but they will only take you out at a set time, mornings only 11.30am for an hour. The staff are predominantly friendly, the bar staff and waiters along with housekeeping all friendly and attentive. The reception not so friendly, on arrival you have a COVID test, the staff member who carried out our tests did so quite harshly and poked the swab way to high inside the nostril causing pain. We were not given any overview of the hotel and found out more talking to a vendor on the beach than the reception staff. The rooms we had were very noisy, pool view and opposite the entertainment, we asked for a quiet room and were told the hotel was fully booked unless we wanted a sea view riom which would be an extra 50 euros per night. Overall, not impressed and considering the cost would not recommend this hotel.

Me and my partner just came back from visiting the Veranda palmar beach from the 5th to the 14th July and it was honestly one of the best holidays we have ever been on.

Every single member of staff was so friendly and accommodating and by the end of our time on holiday a lot knew us personally which was great.

The food was 10/10, lots of variety for breakfast, lunch and dinner so there's always going to be something for everyone. There's also a good mix of local and international cuisine and it always varies daily.

The resort itself is small but there's always enough for everyone to do and the beach that opens up from the resort is absolutely huge.

There's loads of free activities included at the beach hut which we took advantage of despite it being quite chilly when we visited (of course it's winter there)! And highly recommend the glass bottom boat as we saw so much marine life.

We would both be really happy to come back again for a relaxing holiday and if you do go I highly recommend a couple of veranda coladas!

Special shout out to Soobeer who is an absolute legend of bartender who made us some of the best drinks when we were there. However all of the lads working behind the pool bar were equally as lovely. Also the lady who makes the omelettes at breakfast and the chef may be my new favourite people as they cooked such good food.

Also special shout out to Kushi who was the housekeeper for our room. She always made it looks so fresh and clean and the art that she made us each day from towels and petals was amazing, we took photos of them all.

We hope to come back again one day and see everyone again and we send out sincerest thanks to everybody who was working at the time we visited you are all amazing.

Also, room 808 has an amazing view so if you get the chance definitely request it!

We have just returned from 2 weeks at this fabulous hotel and have had the most amazing time. The hotel is small only 77 rooms which suited us perfectly. The staff are very polite and friendly especially Maureen,Soobeer,Abi,Christophe,Elvis,Annoska and Kavish. The guys at the boathouse are great fun and helpful thank you to Jason who looked after us with the water sports and towels. The whole hotel is spotless and the lady who cleaned our room each day did an amazing job ( I am very sorry I cannot spell her name) 😢 I do not have any complaints at all it was the perfect paradise we were hoping for. Entertainment was provided every night and all through the day things put on you could join in if you wanted to or just laze around on a lounger 🥰 I cannot wait to go back thank you all at the Veranda palmar beach for the best holiday ever

We recently stayed at the Verdana Palmer Resort in Mauritius and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. The resort is located on a beautiful stretch of beach and peaceful area. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always going above and beyond. Especially Asha who looked after our room (we really enjoyed her daily creative towel art😃). We would like to give special mention to waiters Yash and Suren who always served us with a smile and showed us true Mauritian hospitality. The team manning the boat house, especially Jason and Niven, also deserve a mention for adding so much value to our trip with the snorkelling experiences. The food at the resort was also excellent - we particularly enjoyed the daily buffet breakfast, which had something for everyone.

Overall, our stay at the Verdana Palmer Resort was an absolute pleasure and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday in Mauritius.

From the minute we arrived all the staff was friendly, helpful and made as feel at home instantly especially Suren, Elvis, Neelesh and Tanvi. The location is beautiful. The rooms was neatly done and cleaned daily, Sabrina left us a special touch every day with the towels in a form of something special like a sting ray or a elephant. That was a special touch to our stay for sure. This place is a must to relax, have fun, explore and just have an overall wonderful never to forget vacation. We will most definitely be back!

Hi. We saw lits on small shops/store on our way to the hotel. But I'm not sure if they have nappies. Better bring your own. I know it's a bit of hassle, but it's better for your peace of mind.
