We booked this resort by chance... and it was amazing! Kanuhura is an excellent choice if travelling with kids of any age (ours are pre-teens and loved it, but there were a lot of smaller kids and the kids club seemed to keep them very happy). The island is small but not too small (can walk around it in 35 mins, perfect for keeping up some semblance of activity), and each villa gets bikes to use. I did not wear my shoes, including flip-flops, fur the duration of our stay. The food is excellent, the on-site Dr extremely handy and efficient, and was able to perform Covid-19 PCR tests and get the results in 5 hours. We had a 2-bedroom family villa without a pool, and it was very spacious and comfortable, although quite sparsely furnished (especially the living room). The bathrooms are amazing. The beds, too, extremely comfortable, and the linen sheets are a nice touch. The gym (which my husband used) is small but good. The spa is amazing, truly, but book in advance. All of the staff are extremely friendly, perhaps not the most efficient, in all honesty. That was my first trip to the Maldives, and I expected to be underwhelmed, especially the beach... but I was not, it was impressive, especially the beach - you can swim from anywhere around the whole island, it really is white and turquoise everywhere.

We had booked a holiday with Luxury Escapes and didn't know what to expect. We had heard a lot about the Maldives. It was supposed to be expensive but worth it. Living in Australia, which has amazing beaches and coastline, it was going to be hard to top. However, our Maldives experience (a bucket list item) was absolutely the best holiday we've been on as a family of four with a teenager and an 11-year-old. The island was Kanuhura. We stayed in the water villa with the sunrise view. From the moment we landed in Male, we knew the Maldives was special. Where else in the world would you find water ferries right at the airport. It had a holiday vibe the moment we landed. The temperature was perfect, the people were so friendly, the island was relatively clean for the main tourist spot. We had to stay overnight in Male. The next morning we caught a seaplane to Kanuhura. That was an experience in itself. The Maldives is an archipelago of 1900 islands grouped into 26 atolls. The view from the seaplane was amazing. Each island seemed to have its own resort. Our destination was Kanuhura. It did not disappoint. From the moment we met our guest relations we knew we were in for a treat. The staff were extremely extremely friendly. The restaurants were amazing. The facility was incredible. This was definitely a trip of a lifetime and the staff made it all the more special. We would definitely visit again. Highly recommended!!!

I returned to Kanuhura for New year 2020/21. Clency Romeo and his team appear to have worked hard over the lock down break to ensure the resort was in terrific shape. The facilities are excellent, it is particularly strong on cuisine, with two, first rate, restaurants - Italian and Indian Grill - to supplement the main dining facilities. For my family, it is the ambience created by the staff, which generates a warm , informal environment - almost like staying with friends. There are numerous resources for activities: diving, water sports and gym, are all professionally run. The nearby marine life is diverse and abundant - the island now has a resident marine biologist to help educate, and we were able to participate in a little bit of reef- rebuilding. The required COVID changes had been throughly, but discretely, integrated into the hotel operation. All the guests I spoke to were uniformly positive. This is a truly first rate experience.

I haven't been to the Maldives in 15 years, it is somewhere I have wanted to visit for a long time. After a horrible 2020 and with my 30th birthday looming next month, my family and I booked a last minute trip to the Maldives, we chose Kanuhura and I am SO glad we did! The Maldives is not cheap but it is worth it, I have never treated myself to such a holiday in mu life! Your experience starts the moment you leave the airport, the island has its own lounge in the seaplane terminal which is great, it has aircon, wifi, nibbles and drinks. The seaplanes take around 30 minutes to the island and they are fun! We had someone in our party with claustrophobia and could not make it onto the seaplane due to a panic attack, we went straight back to the seaplane lounge and the island were incredible at organising a last minute boat to take us to Kanuhura. Our family went off on the seaplane and my sister and I took a 3.5 hour trip by boat. As we sailed up to the island, it took my breath away. Check in was quick and easy and done floating above the crystal clean Indian Ocean. We met our villa host Lateef who was amazing from start to finish. Our beach villas were upgraded to pool beach villas, I would highly recommend these as they are on the sunset side of the island and the beach is much wider on this side. We were in villa 126 and it was perfectly positioned between the heart of the island and the Iru beach bar on the other end. Bikes are provided so you can cycle around the island but walking is easy and enjoyable too. The island is luxurious but casual, I don't think I wore shoes for a whole week, it was just the relaxation I needed! The food and drinks were all great, we went all inclusive which included a great range of cocktails. Our favourite restaurant was the Italian, but each restaurant goes out of their way to accommodate you, even making things that aren't actually on the menu. The beach and ocean is divine, it was like stepping into a warm bath. Guests are able to snorkel straight from the island, snorkelling gear was free and we were able to keep this until we left. We also went on the snorkelling trip which I would highly recommend. For just $50 we were taken out into the ocean by boat for around 20 minutes, we saw dolphins, sea turtles, a white tip shark, plenty of tropical fish and the icing on the cake was swimming with 20+ nurse sharks, it was an experience I will never forget. The island is perfect for couples and/or families. We travelled with two young children, they absolutely loved the kids club. The restaurants all catered to children very well and they had the time of their life! The villas are pristine and spacious with gorgeous outside bathrooms. The sea villas are also magical and I would recommend splitting your stay between the two. We travelled during the pandemic, all entries into the Maldives require a negative covid test so we left the UK with confidence. Once on the island, all staff wear masks, however, it felt amazing to have a week mask free myself. Our temperature was checked each day to make sure no one on the island was developing Covid symptoms! I could not fault this trip and could not have asked any more from it. I feel like I left a piece of my heart on the island and I cannot wait to go back again some day.

We stayed at Kanuhura to celebrate my parent's 25th anniversary and needless to say, all of us had a lovely time there. Arshad was our villa host and he made everything so simple and easy for us. He's one of the best people I met during my stay there. Super friendly and accommodating people. I felt every experience was personalized and custom made for us. I had a great time and I'm sure my family would say the say. We definitely had a hard time leaving that place. Until next time!
