This was our second stay on this island and will not be our last. Very friendly and very helpfull staff, especially our roomboy Khaleel. The island is very beautifull maintained, but like all other islands on the maldives, has problems, with the drifting sand. We have the feeling, that the people here are protecting the nature, as far as it is possible. We will come again. And also the requirements for the pandamic situation were very good maintained by the staff and guests. We felt very safe at any time.

Dear 802philippd, A heartfelt thanks for continuous support, sharing your marvelous experience and review following your stay with us at Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru. We are so humbled to learn that you enjoyed the charming and serene island, the unique designed and immaculate villa to the personalized and hearty service from our friendly, courteous and passionate associates. I will personally share your kind words to Khaleel from housekeeping and the whole team. They will be happy to know that they made your holiday memorable and felt like home. The safety and wellbeing of our guests and associates is of paramount importance and we strictly follow both national and international guidance. We are glad to know that you felt safe and comfortable during your stay with us. Your kind understanding on the beach erosion is highly appreciated. We are continuing to maintain the beach condition by placing sand barriers and pump sand on the affected areas. We are in the process of replacing our existing bags used to build sand barrier to GEO bags which are environment friendly. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kind feedback! I am sure that it will help all possible future guests in their search for the perfect island for a dream holiday. And we shall be looking forward to welcoming you back to your home sweet home in the near future. With best regards, Kanruethai Roongruang (for) General Manager Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru & Angsana Ihuru

This is the perfect place for a romantic retreat. With just 38 villas, each with their own pool, you are guaranteed privacy. We were here for our wedding anniversary, returning to the island of our honeymoon 25 years earlier. It was wonderful to find the island largely the same, unspoilt, and with at least two members of the staff team who were here when we first visited 25 years ago! There was the same warm welcome and personal attention that we remembered. We felt as if we were part of the family and treated royally. Our waiter Adam was outstanding: he was discreet, anticipated our every need and brought us the drinks we wanted without us even having to order. His timing was impeccable and it honestly felt as though we were his only customers. Shazilee who was in charge of our room was also thoughtful, thorough and kind. He quickly got to know our routines and requirements and fitted his work around them. The food was absolutely excellent. Good choices, ample food (4 courses for lunch and dinner) and superb breakfast buffet. Salads were grown on the island and the local fish was superb. The chef is to be complimented on healthy, very tasty and beautifully presented meals. The barbecue buffets were fine, but recommended getting to those meals early for the best choice. We preferred the a la carte days. We had private dining on the beach outside our villa which was absolutely superb. The biggest surf and turf prepared on a grill before us! Every member of staff greeted us with smiles and warmth. They were never intrusive, all was easy and comfortable. We also loved talking to Habeeb in management about the changes and challenges of the 25 years since our first holiday. The team work incredibly hard to make the island sustainable, safe in the time of Covid and to help protect the unique and endangered marine environment. The reef has suffered, as have parts of the beach through hard monsoons and two bleaching events in the last twenty years. Yet they work tirelessly on fortifying the beaches and growing coral. The marine life remains so varied and this is among the best we have seen in travelling all over the world. Where else can you see at least three different types of shark hunting in good numbers right off the end of the jetty in lit, sparkling clear waters each night? We were amazed that fewer guests took advantage of this nightly 'show' but this meant we could watch the sharks every night in solitude. All in all, a perfect island paradise, the best in the Maldives, with luxury and privacy without being ostentatious. Keep going Banyan Tree, never change!

We stayed here for three nights at the end of our honeymoon, after ten nights at the neighbouring island, Ihuru. Our stay was total luxury and a wonderful end to a fabulous two weeks in the Maldives. From arrival on Banyan Tree, the staff were exceptionally helpful. I had emailed ahead requesting a room on a particular part of the island with more beach, and they had acknowledged and accommodated this request. The rooms are stunning without being pretentious. A great selection of drinks in the minibar included in the AI package (although no snacks in the room - but being on the AI package we were never hungry anyway!). Our room boy Irufaan was so friendly and lovely, the room was always done immaculately and he left little gifts for us each night which was a lovely touch. He also did the bed in a spectacular swan and flower display on our last night. The island has lost a lot of sand on one side, so if you are a keen beach sunbather I would recommend a room from 30-49. We had ocean view room 36, which basically meant we had a nice long garden in front of our room rather than walking straight onto the beach. You still get your section of beach with your own sunbeds, so to be honest we found this room much nicer and a bit more private than the ones straight onto the beach! There is a house reef all the way round the island with no water bungalows - a wonderful rarity in the Maldives and the main reason why we chose Banyan Tree and Ihuru. It really feels like they respect the marine life and the reef. We saw a huge number of rays, sharks, eels, turtles and marine fish in our short stay. The best part of the reef for snorkelling was around the two western access channels (right of the jetty as you look out from the island). Much of the rest of the reef has died sadly like a lot of Maldives reefs. But that section is really beautiful and where we would always find the turtle ! The food is exquisite, and our waiter was wonderful. I’m not sure how he spelt his name, apologies, but I think it was pronounced Aiden! He was always so smiley and chatty. A-la-carte menu for lunch was a real luxury ! And the drinks included in the AI package from the bar were brilliant too, a good variety of wines, beers and cocktails. We were just sad we only had three nights to experience it all! Also to mention, we had an evening flight and the team at Banyan Tree were wonderful and let us keep our room until we had to get the boat at 5pm. This not only kept our travel stress-free but also gave us an extra day to enjoy the luxury ! We can’t thank you enough for this. All in all, we want to send a huge thank you to the wonderful team at Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru for making our stay so brilliant and for running genuinely one of the nicest resorts we have ever stayed in. We really hope we can return one day!

Dear millie1033, A heartfelt thanks for sharing your review following your stay with us at Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru. The constructive feedback from our guests such as yours will truly assist us in our efforts to improve while continuing to provide a high level of services to our customers. First and foremost, please accept my sincere apologies for the unpleasant experiences you had encountered during the stay particularly with the electricity and drainage issues in the villa. I am pleased to learn that my team was able to resolve these issues promptly. Furthermore, we have rectified the root causes and strengthen our maintenance program to prevent recurrence in the future. I appreciate you taking your time to raise your concerns. In order to prevent the beach erosion around the island, we have a program to monitor and prevent the beach erosion by continuously pumping the sand back in the area where the beach is eroded. This phenomenon is seasonally changed as it is part of the mother nature, hence we place sand barriers and pump sand on the affected areas. We are in the process of replacing our existing bags used to build sand barrier to GEO bags which are environment friendly. Also, due to the high occupancy, we were not able to offer the villa to you upon your arrival. Your kind understanding on these matters are much appreciated. I am happy that you enjoyed the charming island, the beautiful and comfy villa with private plunge pool, jet pool and garden, the scrumptious cuisine specially beach dinner, the daily stingray feeding, and the excellent service from our friendly, courteous and passionate staff. I will personally share your kind words to Moosa – your designated waiter, Chika – the best friend of our stingray gang, and the whole team. They will be very happy to know that they helped made your stay a memorable one. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kind feedback! And we shall be hoping to see you once again on our shores in the Maldives when the weather is beautiful. With best regards, Kanruethai Roongruang General Manager Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru & Angsana Ihuru
