We had such an amazing time in Amilla resort. They have everything you need to get a relaxing upscale holiday. We stayed in a beach pool villa and it was great. The pool and the view over the ocean were just breathtaking. The staff and your private butler were very helpful, the welcome you from the very first moment you arrive to the very last moment you leave the island. The restaurants and facilities were also great and various. We will be back again for sure. Thank you Amilla and all the staff there for making our stay memorable and unforgettable ❤

Amilla island is one of the best Island resorts in the world. We have been to Bora-Bora, Hayman Island, Pangkor Laut, the Cook islands, etc., etc. All were, in their own way, beautiful but quite frankly, we are in awe of the Amilla Island Resort. What is my password for TripAdvisor Eight of our family members made the long trek from Malibu, California through Dubai to Male, then on to Amilla Resort by seaplane. Not only was the flight spectacular but our greeting at the Amilla resort dockside by general manager Jason Kruse and his wife Victoria was so genuine and welcoming. You can tell they both love their special place in paradise and couldn’t wait to get us settled in to enjoy the very best upscale Robinson Crusoe experience ever. Of note, in these COVID-19 times, the resort provides quick turnaround (two hours) in-Villa testing and then assuming all are negative, masks off for the remainder of the trip. Literally all of their staff have been fully vaccinated but were particularly mindful to keep reasonable distance and provide ample hand sanitizer everywhere, even on the dive boat and most importantly were joyful, helpful and always smiling. Their genuine warmth and helpfulness obviously comes from the top down and it shows. Even the most beautiful location can tarnish if the staff doesn’t smile but here, literally everyone smiles, genuine smiles, which makes you do the same. It’s uplifting and incredibly relaxing. Kudos to Jason and Victoria for running the “happiest place on earth.” 1. We stayed in a four bedroom oceanfront villa due to the size of our group. By the way, the over water bungalows and jungle villas seemed equally inviting. The Villa was exceptional and well-equipped, great Air Conditioning, clean, fresh and inviting. We couldn’t ask for more. 2. Misbah was our on-site Villa manager. He took care of everything from dinner reservations, dive and wave runner excursions, finding the right wine and champagne for a special occasion, making spa reservations, and arranging for an in-villa amazing chef cooked bbq of lobster, chicken, steak, etc. including a special vegetarian barbecue for our one vegan. Misbah was the very best! Literally no task was too small (locating a complete Scrabble set) or too large (securing last minute spa reservations and Manta Ray snorkeling excursion trip). He did everything with enthusiasm, a winning smile and a “can-do“ attitude. He made sure our eight bicycles (with nameplates on each one) were always ready, and our “Mr. Toad’s wild ride” adorable golf cart (with our name on it as the license plate) always plugged in and charged. We were so very lucky to have him help us and we can’t thank him enough! He truly made us feel like his family and we were honored by his service and joy. 3. Restaurants and Food: Breakfast is sumptuous; big variety from wellness green drinks to fresh juices, farm to table eggs cooked to order; pastries that taste like Paris and sushi, if you’re so inclined. Cappuccinos and flat white coffee‘s that beats Starbucks by a mile. All of the other fine restaurants, Feeling Koi, with great Japanese food and the Sunset Bar on top, Joe’s Pizza (the best Patron homemade Kombucha and chicken tika wraps ever) particularly stood out. Again, the smiling, ever helpful staff were a joy. 4. Water sports: Lots to do from snorkeling with the Manta rays, wave runners, jet boots, scuba diving, etc., all in the crystal blue beautiful water with tropical fish and live, beautiful coral. 5. Spa and gym, tennis court: Spa treatments were high on our group’s list. Ari is the massage therapist to book if you want a deep, therapeutic back massage that relieves all of your travel tensions and puts you in a relaxed and almost zen state. The indoor gym is air conditioned and well equipped. The outdoor gym looks like it was designed by Fred Flintstone and was great fun! Conclusion: 15 hours from LA to Dubai, 4 hours from Dubai to Male, and then a 35 minute seaplane to Amilla. Yes, it’s a long journey but absolutely worth it!

I arrived home from the Amilla Resort a couple days ago but I wish I was still there. My family and I stayed for just less two weeks and it was not nearly enough. Everything was great from breakfast (which had to be wonderful to get us out of our shockingly comfortable beds) to dinner- and after dinner drinks, Nitesh and Ruslan made us G&T slushies, which we called a "Nitesh" and highly recommend. Dinners at Feeling Koi were a particular highlight where we saw nurse sharks hanging out and my kids learned to make and love sushi. The activities- both complementary and fee based- were also great. I never felt any upsell pressure but the staff kept us going back for more. My son and I took scuba lessons, and the whole family went on multiple guided snorkel trips. Our last such trip, a night snorkeling trip, was specially arranged on our last night (thanks Waxy and Nappe!) after our first booking was canceled due to weather. It was worth the wait to swim with sharks at night. On a different trip we managed to get in the water with reef manta rays. If taking excursions is not your speed, the house reef as great too. While there, I saw loads of black tipped reef sharks, great coral, sea turtles, and spinner dolphins.

Admittedly, a trip to the Maldives was my family's 2nd choice for vacations. We are a mountain & river kind of people - versus sand & salt. But once we embraced the idea of swimming and snorkeling in warm ocean water and bought 10 bottles of reef friendly sunscreen, we were ready. Our villa was reef side, something I highly recommend to anyone with snorkeling enthusiasts. Lagoon side was just as gorgeous (my in-laws chose that side), but you had to fight past a strong current and (during our stay) bigger waves than normal to get to the reefs. We saw coral, fish, sharks, turtles, jellies, squids, and anemones in every stretch of reef around the island. Further out via boat, we saw dolphins, and fell in love with giant mantas. Their big resort pool is an understatement. It was enormous and was a great alternative for when we were over-salted from the ocean. We loved our private pool too. Food and drink options were plentiful and great - I was never bored. Particular favorites: grilled reef fish-of-the-day, sushi, and lamb chops. There was Hendrick's G&Ts, and we taught the bartenders how to make a Menorcan recipe of gin slushies. We enjoyed great wine, prosecco, and juice options as well. My favorite thing (beyond the manta sightings) was that we rode beach cruisers all over the island, and my kids (8 and 11) had a lot of freedom to explore on their own. I slept like a rock each night. Would I go back? Absolutely.

First of all I would like to thank all the wonderful staff in Amilla. They are so caring and smiling, it is always a pleasure to walk around so many happy faces The fact that you can stay on an island so naturally lush is fantastic. You feel safe ( all the staff there is vaccinated) and they have their own PCR machine. Second I would like to thank our butler, who did a fantastic job attending all our needs And last but not least, we would like to thank Arthur and all his activity team. The teen program and the kids club were absolutely amazing, so éducative and interesting. On top of that, he is an amazing tennis player and coach, very patient and professional. He definitely made us feel special during our stay.
