Even with so many luxury offerings in the Maldives, Nautilus was an easy decision to make. A couple of things really stood out for us even before we stepped upon its private shores. -The butler was way ahead of us and emailed to ask about our preferences for the pool temperature, the type of pillows and what we would like our mini bar to be stocked with. -straight off the tarmac an Audi was sent to pick us up and transfer us to the CIP terminal where we had a chance to refresh ourselves. We waited approximately 1.5 hours for our Nautilus seaplane at the private lounge. Nautilus is the only resort I believe that provides this as a complimentary service. - If you are contemplating the extra few hundred dollars to take the Nautilus flight, it’s worth it! The transfer was an easy 30 mins. (We took a shared flight on our way back from a different resort and it stopped at different resorts which was time consuming.) Here are the plus points we discovered after our arrival – -The island is quiet, blissful and feels like a home away from home. We didn’t really bump into other guests even during meals. -We had an over-water villa and it was modern, stunning and cheerful! If you can get one closer to the U-shape, it’s a better facing. The glass-bottom floor in the living room was a fantastic touch. Not too many fish but its nice to see the occasional parrot fish underneath us. The deck is spacious enough to have your own party! -We didn’t see the manta rays, but the ball atoll is just a 10-15min boat ride away. You have to let the staff know that you are on standby, and they will inform you once the rangers to call. - There is complementary yoga in the mornings, complimentary cocktails in the evenings and plenty to fill your days in between from water sports to spa sessions. You can burn off on with the other! -Breakfast is served anywhere, any time. It’s a great concept and we did contemplate a floating breakfast in the pool but there were extra costs involved so we enjoyed the extensive buffet breakfast instead. -Apparently, we could have ordered anything we fancied off the menu but every meal we had was excellent in all 3 restaurants! - We waited about 10 mins for our boat transfer to another resort. We were not complaining but the management more than made up for that slight delay by offering us a beautiful 3-bedroom yacht just for 2 of us as a parting gift from the management (which also prompted this honest review!) (Oh yes, l almost forgot, were there any cons? Our butler was great but forgot to mention the dinning concept to us. One staff pointed rather than walked us to where we wanted to go but this is now just nit picking.) In conclusion, we would go back!

Hello, We are delighted to know that our little bohemian paradise resulted to become the most exceptional experience for you. Our housemasters (butler) are one of our most unique features, they are dedicated to ensure your stay at the Nautilus feels like coming to your own vacation home. The idea behind is that each guest feels like they are in their own private island hence all the elements are designed and conceptualized to underline our philosophy. Unscripted Food and Beverage is one of the signature concepts of the island and the menu at each restaurant is simply a book of suggestions rather than a strict menu. The time stands still at our island and we ensure our best efforts are put to make a memorable experience for the guests throughout their journey. Everything at the Nautilus is easily accessible within a short walk enjoying our unique landscape. Offering ultimate privacy and a world of your own making is part of our key pillars. We appreciate your kind feedback and will share this with our team. We look forward to welcoming you back to your home away from home where whimsy and wonder is brought to life! Once again thank you for the detailed and very lovely feedback about the Nautilus! Warm Regards André

Hotel's Favorite
It was our first visit to the Maldives. As New Yorkers it was a long journey that we dreamed of taking . It was a special birthday celebration and picking the right resort was much more difficult then we could imagine ,with so many luxury choices . We are very traveled and try to pick properties that will give us an exceptional experience on every level of the destination. The Nautilus exceeded our expectations on every level imaginable!!! We have never in all our travels experienced a magnificent and magical holiday as much as The Nautilus delivered . Let me share a few why's. Most importantly the team at The Nautilus, they truly make it feel like your loyal home . The GM , Andre is truly a hands on leader of his beautiful team ,he was always there to not just say Hi ,but find out what we enjoy and bring the experience to us , in the kindest and most sincere way , along with his very witty sense of humor . We were taken care of by Hushy , our house master during our 7 night stay in heaven . Hushy is one of the kindest , humble and intelligent person that we could ask for. Truly we felt like family and knew Hushy would be there to make sure our stay was magical. Brian had the amazing opportunity to go diving , and he was absolutely overwhelmed with every part of his diving experience, lead by truly the most amazing marine biologist diving instructor Kayla . Kayla touched us deeply . Her passion for the sea and marine life is contagious and we could not get enough. We cherished every moment of our experiences with beautiful Kayla . Food , well all I can say is get ready for a food experience unlike no other , lead by Master Chef Michael . His culinary expertise is richly enhanced by his dedication and passion for travels around the world . Michael can turn his kitchen and the several dining options as if you were in the best kitchen of somewhere in south Asia or Italy or anywhere cuisine is an art . The houses are extraordinary in their detail and quality, every aspect is top of the line and very well thought out , it's truly remarkable. The most important part if The Nautilus is something that hard if not impossible to find today, the chance to create a holiday that matters most to you . If you take the time during your holiday here to get to know the team of the most AMAZING and BEAUTIFUL people , you will not only have the holiday of a lifetime, you will be forever enriched as a person ❤️. Don't wait , go and enjoy ! We look forward to our return .

Dear Dawn and Brian, it was our absolute delight to have you in our bohemian paradise. Ensuring our guests truly feel welcome and at home is what we as a team inspire to do daily. Hushy, is an exceptional gentleman who revels in any opportunity to make the experience of his guests a once in a life time. He is looking forward to welcome you back into your house where all your comforts of home are waiting for you. Brian, I ensure you that there are many more secrets of the ocean waiting for you to explore. The beautiful Baa Atoll is a gem with its great many phenomena such as the Manta Rays and the Whale Sharks. And Kayla, speaks fondly of you and looks forward to curate many more of your oceanic adventures. Our Executive Chef Michael is the very soul of the culinary journey of Nautilus. He and his team ensures tirelessly that our food lovers lack no flavors and definitely stands at the heart of the unscripted food and beverage experience of Nautilus. Our houses and people are the art of truly refined island living where the elements are balanced with great passion and homely energy. Once again, thank you and we are humbled to know the Nautilus has been well worthy of the long journey. Last but not least, it was a personal pleasure to spend quality time with such a charming and lovely couple! P.s. Don’t forget our chat - always ask yourself how many cups you need.

The Nautilus is a next level experience. They give here the personal contact and the real feeling of being away from real life. Here they know no time and nothing is impossible. They have flown in a 2 Michelin star chef from Signapore to provide the food with matching champagne. The food was amazing and they have several wonderfull restaurants. The room with the view was so beautiful, not to mention the wonderful spa. My partner proposed to me on this island. The team took care of everything down to the last detail and it couldn't have been better. They arranged everything, a lovely singer, a private chef, rose petals, candles, lights, hearts, cameraman and a photographer. A dream come true. Nothing was too crazy. This is a memory for life. The team is exceptional, especially Rafu our butler who completely unburdened us and made our holiday extra special. The General Manager Andre has his team under very good control our compliments. We will definitely come back here. Andre & team Nautilus thank you so much for this amazing holiday. We will never forget!

Hello Stephanie! It was an absolute delight to have you and Robert with us. Michelin Star Chef Kirk Westaway’s wine pairing dinner was definitely a highlight of our week, we are so glad Robert and you had the opportunity to have this experience at the Nautilus! The Nautilus team is made of exceptional individuals who come together and function as a family to deliver the most memorable experience for all our beloved guests. There is no place like the Nautilus to declare eternal love and devotion and it was an honor to have been a part and to witness that very special day. My team and I appreciate your love for our bohemian paradise. We look forward to welcoming you back soon- as promised. Warm Regards, André

Pre-sales Sales staff where friendly and answered my questions promptly by email. Ideally a detailed questionnaire to personalise my preferences between temperature, allergies, robe and slipper sizes, activities, spa treatments etc should be sent. Getting there Compared to other resorts, Nautilus does not use its own private lounge but a contracted one. However this also provides a VIP service where one is met off the plane and whisked straight via bus to the lounge, where immigration and luggage are taken care of. But there was a mix up and this did not happen. Nautilus kindly made up for this and provided the VIP departure service for free (usually paid). From the lounge I was driven in a Nautilus branded car to the seaplane terminal where I boarded their own private purple seaplane with luxury leather seats. I was hoping noise cancelling headphones and an iPad would be provided like Sonerva but only earplugs were handed out. The trip offered spectacular views for the 30 minutes flight. We landed next to a pontoon close to the island and took a luxury Princess speedboat the rest of the 5 minutes journey. Arrival On arrival we had the General Manager, Andre Miething, greet us but no champagne or juices were provided (but there is a whole bottle in the villa). Setting Not a single mosquito bite, Nautilus found a way to eradicate them with what seems like magic (it was quite gusty which might explain their disappearance). The island has a small but beautiful beach with super soft sand but I would advise wearing sandals as parts can be quite stony. The circular shape of the island means you cannot get lost, as you’ll eventually end up where you need to be. It’s idiot-proof. With the main paths being covered in sand, I always took off barefoot, and timed how long it took for me to walk around the entire island – 12 minutes, as you asked. Rooms The amount of space Nautilus offers is incomparable. Then you throw in the layout, natural light, colours, style, technology, bed, plus added kitchen area, guest toilet, private outdoor dining area and of course my favourite: free soft drinks and juices. I believe you will be more than satisfied regardless of what room category you have. I stayed at the Ocean Residence, one of 2 on the island (number 205). This faced north-west so provided gorgeous sunsets. I would have liked to have heated towel ranks to dry swimwear, as I hate putting on damp swimming trunks (I know first world problems)! Facilities There’s a main pool and bar, where there’s live music and complementary cocktails at sunset. There’s also a children’s club, gym and pool table. Spa Each treatment room comes with a steam room, outdoor bath with views across the ocean and supremely comfortable loungers. I would have liked to replace the bath with a jacuzzi. During treatments, you face down onto glass, allowing you to peer into the ocean. Mine was superb … I had a body scrub, body wrap, facial and scalp treatment which lasted around 3 hours. Activities I did a bit of kayaking on a glass bottom boat, a short snorkelling session with the resident marine biologist, a cocktail making class and a sushi making class. All those activities were private, but I’m not sure if this is always the case. It might be extra luxurious to have in-room iPad giving a daily list of recommended activities as Velaa does. Food There are 3 main restaurants on the island: Thyme, Ocaso and Zeytoun. They offer menus but you can mix and match as you see fit when ordering in-room dining. It would be nice to see a menu personalised to the guest’s preferences as Velaa does. It also would be great to see more international cuisine offered (Vella as 14). Food was always prompt, and always of a high standard. The particular highlight being the Tom Yum soup. Unlike some other high-end resorts, there’s no dress code, even at dinner. Service I absolutely loved the GM. He treated us as if he personally was hosting us, as if the entire experience was just for us. Each villa has a shared butler. Mine, Hassan, was on top of everything and never made any mistakes. He did not offer to unpack as they do at Cheval Blanc, but let’s not get picky. The same applied with the staff elsewhere: it was exemplary. They are far more relaxed about signing the bill than Cheval Blanc, with few really caring if we did at all. They are very generous with daily fruit replenishments plus a series of evening snacks. However, I wish the service was more tailored. For example, at Vella, I sent my usual stay list which mentions things I do/don’t like, and for the dining menu they completely altered ingredients for me without even asking, right down to specific types of chocolate. I’ve never had that before anywhere. I think with the small size of Nautilus they could easily elevate their service to this level of detail and personalisation. Departure I was fortunate to get a late checkout at 3pm with Hassan, the butler, packing away my suitcase. Returned using the private seaplane and this time had the VIP airport service. From the time of entering the lounge to being on the plane was less than 30 minutes. There is a small security search on entering the lounge (no need to take laptops out or belts off). The lounge has free wifi and a small selection of drinks and buffet. Boarding was done via a private bus to the plane and separate airstairs.

Dear Christopher, Our utmost appreciation for your great review and that you have taken your time to highlight all the exceptional details here at the Nautilus. My team and I are constantly working to bring the Nautilus to the next level through innovations and to enforce our core values in all areas of our bohemian paradise. Personalizing the service and our offerings is an ongoing process and each day emphasizes on curating an experience, which is created to the desires of the individual guest. We aim to remain and create the experience of a private island to all our guests and not restrict them to the generic standards or procedures, which are practiced within the other brands. We will go forward on this wonderful journey keeping in mind the feedback you have shared with us today and doubtless that these suggestions will assist us to truly embody the quality of service and level of personalization we have envisioned and aim to reach. Starting from the products, services and all the emotional details attached to the Nautilus will continue to get refined. We look forward to welcoming you back soon to The Nautilus Maldives where you once again experience the freedom to do – and to be- as you please. Warm Regards, André

We spent 2 weeks in this hotel, we are a family of four with 10 and 6 year old daughters. The hotel is really perfectly designed, clean and cozy. Really prettier than in the photos. All these reviews are true. But what makes this hotel exceptional are the services. We have traveled a lot of hotels in the world ... and in the Maldives this is our fourth hotel, I can say that it is definitely the best, but also what one expects from a luxury hotel. What surprised me was the food, perhaps it has never happened to me that everything I tasted tasted exactly as it should, whether from Asia, Italy, India ... In a word, I applaud. What's next? Spa great, snorkeling around Spa amazing, Kids club small but personal, the kids enjoyed it very much. Everything is really more expensive, but whatever you want is not a problem. Last time I kept a little flaw in the beauty of this island. This is the entrance to the sea. The beach is really well maintained, from one windier part of the island is larger, unfortunately there are very few parts without stones and corals, if you go to the sea in the morning, take two steps and either walk on the rocks or go straight into the depths. It is not the "typical Maldivian photo beach" with only sand and a gradual entry into the sea. Occasionally piled stones spoil the overall impression.

We loved our two weeks at Nautilus, it was the end of our six-week tour with the 4 weeks of travelling Sri Lanka behind us we had two weeks to relax here. And all the staff on Nautilus made this very possible with such ease, we had Siyam as our “house manager” who looked after everything with great attention to detail and care. We had Himi as our constant waitress who was so lovely, and took extra care to remember all our requirements at breakfast and dinner:) We could not want for more, and the Island is beautiful. Siyam arranged tennis for us which was situated in the staff area and made sure everything we needed was there each time. We so enjoyed being able to have breakfast at any time which we usually got there after Tennis or Gym around noon! It was super having three restaurants to choose from, they are all different. My only moan is how expensive the wine is, I had to put up with a rose wine at 80 pounds a bottle which was not that great! but if I had wanted my usual rose wine it would have been £120! which was very hard to swallow! I loved the purple theme and this matched me as I love purple so being picked up at Male in the purple seaplane was a dream come true! Go and discover the beauty of Nautilus x

We are delighted to know that the Nautilus was the final location of your adventure and we are pleased to learn we have succeeded in every way to ensure you had the opportunity to relax and unwind here. Our housemaster Siyam is indeed dedicated to ensure all his guests get the best of everything the Nautilus has to offer. Himi is looking forward to welcome you back and charm you with her many skills and attention to details. We have well noted the price of the wines which are mainly related to the additional tax, licenses and freight charges due to being located in the middle of the Indian ocean. However, I can assure that our sommeliers are constantly trying their best to make sure the offerings are balanced and all our guests are able to find something as per their likings. The purple Nautilus seaplane awaits to fly you back to the Nautilus hopefully very soon! Regards, André

We had the chance to stay for 4 nights at The Nautilus in August 2021. This resort is obviously GREAT but, having visited many other places in the Maldives (Milaidhoo, One&Only, Four Seasons Landaa, Soneva Fushi, Anantara Kihavah, Gili, Six Senses, Como Cocoa,...) we had super high expectations. Basically, I'm not gonna waste too much time on what is really great about this place, as it's been said again and again in the other comments : incredible villas, delicious food, great atoll, very good spa,... But what was not as good as we would have expected was the service and also the fact that the island is fully surrounded by seawalls. Yes, it's not the resort's fault, they of course have to protect themself, but the truth is there : it does not look good and is quite far from most of the pictures you'll see. Regarding the service, globally, it is of course very good, BUT, we had a few bad experiences, particularly at breakfast where one particular waiter was absolutely not good. Took ages for him to come and take order, took the order with mistakes, took ages to deliver,... Even though the restaurant was EMPTY, it still took 45+min to get some basic things...like orange juice, come on ! Globally, The Nautilus is of course a very good luxury resort in the Maldives. Yet, given its price, we were expecting something even better. There are other places we would be more likely to go back to, even though The Nautilus has some key strengths, it's maybe not enough given the very strong competition there is in the Maldives. If service was top-notch, then we'd be more than happy to go back to the Nautilus. But with the service we had....hmmmmm You can see the sum-um of our trip to the Nautilus in our video typing THE NAUTILUS MALDIVES 2022 🌴 The Most Iconic Luxury Resort in the Maldives (Full Tour 4K UHD) on Youtube. You'll see all the main areas of the resort, the villa, some sky views,...

The best Deja Vu!!! We were in this piece of paradise for the second time. Cause this is the place where you want to come back. I won’t write again about all the beauties of staying in Nautilus. If you are interested in details - please, ask under the review. I’ll just say - I’ll come back again for calming energy, peace, balance and harmony. Big big thank you for our house master - Risan for being always exactly when and where we need him! Great thanks for all the Chefs for preparing my individual dietary meals so tasty!!! By the way - new corner with gluten free on breakfast buffet and new menu at Zeyton are exciting! Deep appreciate for girls from Spa - Jenny, Soso and Swan for yoga and massages and meditations - everything that made our stay so magical! And separate thank you for Dive instructor - Ali from my husband. Have a dive certificate!!! Hurray! So, to be short - Perfect stay again! See you soon, Nautilus Maldives!
