Back to Maafushivaru for a second time, and not disappointed. We had a great stay opting for a beach villa this time, although both the water villas and beach villa are both as nice. We fancied having the sand in our toes this time. The resort took fantastic care of us. Our visit to the island was end of June,... More

This is a fantastic place to visit in the Maldives. Cost is always the major factor when deciding where to stay in this part of the world and Maafushivaru is about mid-range and you certainly get looked after very well here. It's a small island - a ten minute slow walk all around - and the scenery is gorgeous with... More

The location and surroundings are amazing just a shame that everyday I was picking up loads of white plastic. The poor environment.... Which brings me to my next point this resort goes through loads of plastic bottles and I often saw bottle caps and plastic bottles around the island... Also the coral is in such bad shape and it does... More

Gorgeous island lovely staff and comfortable accomodation . A small island so fabulous to have a limited nos of guests . Great snorkelling from the beach and on the small island near by . Our only let down was the food . My boys ( adults ) thought it was fine as there was certainly lots of it and lots... More

I have stayed at the resort with family. The island is amazing, like almost all Maldives, staff outstanding, atmosphere superb, food average but acceptable. Particularly enjoyable the vicinity of a deserted small Lonubu island. However, the resort lacks attention to details. The most evident, for us, was the water villa. Sold at a premium, it was disappointing: a bit rundown,... More

The best thing is the nature of this small island and beautiful ocean. The good thing is the nice staff and comfortable beach villas. The worst are the following-no room service and no information about the the absence of it on website, bad full board buffet choices made of frozen ingredients, tomatoe and cucumber cut in 5 different shapes and put on different plates... For our second trip to Maldives, we chose to stay 6 nights in Maafushivaru, followed by 5 nights in Gili Lankanfushi (November 2015). Maafushivaru has great surroundings, the colours are magnificent, even though there are not many fishes for the snorkelling. We appreciated the remoteness, and we also went for a private picnic on the desert island of Lonubo. If... More

My husband and I stayed in the water villa on the sun set side for 5 days. For us this was the right amount of time to spend here. It was so peaceful and beautiful! To be able to just step out of your room and down into the water was amazing. Even watching the sea life at night from... More

The island is not very big, which is perfect if you are looking for relax and not being with lot of people. We tried two nights in a beach villa and two nights in a overwater. Both were big enough, clean and confortable. Restaurant has lot of variance food and everything was delicious.

Back to this beautiful resort, we were greeted by all our friends from last year and made very welcome. We had a romantic night on Lonubo, with our own chef and waiter. Wine and BBQ served by the waters edge. We loved our beach villa and sorkelling in the lagoon. Buffets in the main restaurant are all a bit the... More
