Really lovely place to stay and a perfect base for a holliday in Sarawak. Stunning location at the edge of Mount Santubong and facing the sea. I stayed in Wallace Cottage, rustic cottage, full of atmosphere but comfortable and well looked after. IIt´s family run and this makes a high level of personal service and friendly atmosphere. I had a...

We have travelled a lot as a family of 4 and individually, using all sorts of accommodation around the world, and we thought this was top-notch. We used the cottage (me, wife and 17 yr and 21 yr sons) and it was rustic but had all you need. Enough to do and see locally but also chilled out. Polycarp and...

Nanga Damai is a cozy place to relax. I stayed for four nights. The view is beautiful even it's raining. To take a walk with the lovely dog to the beach or golf course to enjoy the fresh air after the rain. To wake up in the morning with birds singing in the trees is also delightful. It's also convenient...

Nanga Damai is a really comfortable and clean guest house outside of Kuching in Malaysian Borneo. There are rooms in the main house which are stylish and there are rooms in a separate traditional house which are more private. I stayed in both and liked them both. The guest house is about 40 minutes outside of Kuching but there are...

We ended our trip to Borneo (4 weeks) in this lovely homestay. The lonely planet already mentioned it; it is luxurious. Good bed, Nice hot shower (great after 2 days bako and Silmilajau np with only cold showers). Great breakfast especially if you would like something else than the standard given breakfast in Borneo. The owner was not there at...

Nanga Damai is the perfect place to chill and visit Damai beach area. Within walking distances, you will find a golf course, beautiful beaches and the Cultural Center (highly recommended) Anyway, Polycarp will surely propose you a ride to these place or to restaurants for dinner. There is a fisherman village with seafood restaurants 10 min ride away. The breakfast...

We stayed for 3 nts in the Charles brooke room and it was delightful. Beautiful views and a great feel. So nice to have a super friendly dog around to play with and even monkeys and squirrels to look at in the nearby jungle. Pool ideal for relaxing. Excellent breakfast with real bread. Our car was useful but it's doable...

Stayed here for four nights and was frightfully sad to leave. Set in the jungle the location could not be better and there is a lot of wildlife to be found. The room was luxurious with a lovely bathroom, the pool beautiful and serene and the host, Polycarp and the house girls were extremely friendly and helpful. It is quite...

We enjoyed our two day´s stay in the James Brooke room at the Nanga Damai homestay. Although "Luxury" seems a bit exaggerated to us the house is comfortable, nicely decorated and well positioned. The host did his very best to entertain his guests and have them chauffeured to the various sea food restaurants in the vecinity. As he is working...
