I stayed here for two nights and I really wish I had stayed longer - it's a fabulous, fabulous place. Booking was easy, I dealt with Polycarp the owner directly and chose my room before arriving. He picked me up from Kuching without charge as he was there. It's a good 40 minute drive out of Kuching. When you arrive... More

This is a wonderful luxury homestay. Surrounded by jungle but near the beautiful Damai beach. My gorgeous room is overlooking the creek and I have the peaceful sounds of the water to fall asleep to and wake up to. There is lots to do around here, Sarawak Cultural Village, jungle walks, beaches, Kuching is about half an hour away, or... More

After reviewing other reviews for accommodation in Damai I chose this homestay as I prefer this type of stay to large and at times impersonal resorts. Polycarp the host was perfect, I phoned from Kuching to let him know I was arriving and as he was travelling to Kuching (about 35 kms from Damai) he offered to collect me later... More

Nanga Damai is quite unique. Nestled at the foot of its own mountain, with the rainforest behind and beautiful views of the sea in front, it is a guesthouse par excellence. A little piece of heaven on earth! Polycarp and his wife Louise are first rate hosts: friendly, welcoming and more than willing to help their guests get the very... More

The sun rises, the tropical garden comes alive, butterflies flapping around the pool. "Tchak tchak tchak," a few last geckos chirp before hiding for the day. Cheeping insects, singing birds, and the playful yawn of two lovely dogs greet you as you step on the terrace. You are torn between spending the day at Nanga Damai, taking in the rainforest,... Me and 3 friends stayed at Nanga for 2 nights. We stayed in Wallace's cottage which was lovely- it has a colonial feel and the history makes it a really unique place to stay. It was also nice because we had our own balcony and shared living room. The swimming pool is lovely to relax by, the breakfast is fresh... More

We stayed there for two nights and it was a retreat trip for my boyfriend's birthday. As picky individuals, Nanga Damai was more than what we were looking forward to, the surroundings were lovely, quiet and serene. The owner and the staff as well as other guests were very welcoming, its was a very lovely experience, I can't find words... More

To start with : Its open and running! They had a fire so there was a renovation but its over and its lovely. The owners are really helpful and if they are not there there is always somebody to help. The rooms are spacious and clean and they have a lovely garden with a pool and a beautiful setting. But... More

I was here for 5 days and found lovely people and quality stay. The place is beautiful if tou are looking fir peace out of the chaotic traffic of kuching. The bathrooms can be improved and you'll nees a car or a motorbike to move around. Beautiful place anyway. Thanks!

We (family of 5, 3 teenagers) had a wonderful stay in this fully renovated, recently reopened B&B. Owned by a Malaysian/British couple the place is beautifully situated, with great views, tastefully decorated, quiet and relaxed. Great pool and deck area. Lovely breakfast. You can unwind from the hustle and bustle of Kuching and Sarawak right here.
