This is a great little hostel bang in the centre of Kota Kinabalu. Only 5 mins walk from the bus station and the night market. Spotlessly clean (the staff always seemed to be cleaning something!), very polite staff who were really helpful in letting us book accommodation and organise our Mount Kinabalu climb using the phone in reception.

We stayed there in Sept 2010 and it was quiet at the lodge. It was very clean and rooms were big and cheap (we paid RM55 for a double room). Breakfast was the standard toast and butter/jam and coffee/tea. One of the plus was the water refill at the breakfast area where we fill up on bottled water before going...

A little bit disappointed as we saw the rating in Trip Adiser is so high. But, as they arrange us the room in the 4th floor which we need to carry the bags up & down and no wi-fi in the 4th floor room. Basic and clean only.

We stayed at Lavender Lodge for 3 nights and were really happy with the hostel. The staff were very nice and helpful. We arrived without a booking and although there were no twin rooms available we were given a family room for our first night and only charged for a twin. The twin rooms were 70RM in total including breakfast....

Stayed 4 nights at this lodge and love every aspect of it except for maybe the stairs as our legs were aching from our climb up Mt KK that very day. Rooms were very clean and the lodge does general housekeeping of each room daily. Rooms are air conditioned and furnishings are simple, but clean. Fresh towels were also provided...

Daniel and Jenny at Lavender Lodge provide the perfect welcome to KK. Their impeccable service is relfected throughout the hostel which is easy to find, friendly and clean. It's a 2 minute walk from the seafront and is very close to all shops, restaurants and transport hubs. This is the best hostel I stayed in whilst in Sabah by a...

I stayed here 15-17 and 20-23 august 2011. I tried two different types of rooms and all were spotless and clean. Beds were the most comfortable I had on my entire travel and even better than in 4* hotel which I had at the end in Bangkok. Not such a luxury in comparison but sure management of this hotel knows...

Due to good reviews posted on this site, we decided to check in this place for our accommodation in KK. We stayed here for two nights (Aug 20 to 22) on a triple family room for only RM85 (rate inclusive of breakfast). They offer free pick up from the airport. We were so satisfied with their service. Best-place to stay...

We stayed in Lavender Lodge for 10 nights last year. It was our base for trips around Sabah. Lavender Lodge was a very clean and nice hostel/lodge. The reception lady was so sweet. The owner was very helpful and gave us many travelling advice for Sabah.
