Just 300 metres away from the entrance of Kinabalu Park Headquarters, J Residence is the nearest lodge outside Mount Kinabalu National Park, and with rooms price three times lower than those chalets and lodges inside Kinabalu Park. J Residence was built in the year 2010 and our lodge are partially hidden by trees and plants from the main road. Our lodge overlook the Bundu Tuhan dwelling & farming community while the back is decorated with rows of tall matured pine trees. Temperature here ranges from 19°C to 17°C at night. Truly a great place to seek refuge from the hot equatorial climate of the other major cities of Sabah.

Due to the MCO situation, it has been quite a while since our family members last saw each other and it is GREAT to finally meet up again to catch up and have BIG LAUGHS. We arrived here while it's raining but the view is still stunning though. We had a villa which was excellent for a medium size family of 12 persons but we order extra mattresses for 6 persons. The kitchen was well equipped with necessary utensils and cutleries. The boys spent most of their evening at the BBQ deck area enjoying their drinks and the night skies. The morning view was really breathtaking and the garden flowers surrounding the establishment were pretty.

We visited this mountain hotel at two occasions. Well-maintained landscape and garden. Both the bedroom and toilets are spacious. Great for couples, solo adventurers, and families looking for a Mount Kinabalu getaway.

Good leisure trip. As I've been staying at this hotel for a few times, the check-in process was understandably fast. The reception staff is always friendly. With the SOP for CMCO, I can see the staff members sanitize the public areas daily focusing on surfaces that are prone to be touched by people. Definitely a peace of mind.

Although Mt. Kinabalu cannot be seen as it is in a way a view that is facing mostly forests, it is still a very relaxing place to stay. A great place to stay if one day your family wants to have a gathering. Distance to Kinabalu Park takes roughly 10mins+/- from the residence itself. However the entrance is a bit steep and parking would be limited. Advice is to park first, and then register. Amenities are mostly basic w/o hairdryer in the room though. I don't know if they provide as I didn't ask. There isn't a phone available if you're looking for reception so WALK. It's a healthier choice too. If your plan is to relax and get away from the busy city, don't even think of complaining about the TV. What's the point of travelling far if you're hooked on the tele? We had some issues with ours (but we realised we don't need tv anyway) and Alson (I hope I spelled his name right) was kind enough to help us with a couple of things that we need assistance.

This was the best experience me and my friend could have! Waking up with wonderful garden views drinking tea on your balcony while plugged into laptop work back made this establishment very amazing to work out of.
