If your expecting 5star, this is not for you, so don't go here and then give crap reviews, that would be very unfair!!! It is an old hotel, offering only 11 rooms, BUT...... You will love it, no air conditioning needed as you are above the heat on the streets. The dining area on the north side boasts amazing views...

We stopped off for a meal in the only hotel on Penang Hill, thinking it would be quieter and possibly better than the hilltop restaurant. How wrong we were. This hotel is an opportunity wasted. The views are, without a doubt, stunning. The food? Not so much. We ordered two different chicken dishes and still have no idea what was...

Plus side- great views. Negatives- almost feel sorry for the old hotel. Looks very run down and could do with a lot of tlc. Food and drink - overpriced. Service at the end of the meal was awful- just finished my meal and still drinking when the waiter came over and plopped the bill in front of me. I had...

Like the title says, better spend your money somewhere else. This place is not worth it even to pay a visit. As I have paid rm3 out of curiosity to visit this hotel which had such a long history but was just allowed to 'visit' the corridor beside the lobby which was no longer than 50m. Not satisfied with the...

Probably being a little generous but the location is stunning. We didnt stay but had lunch and dinner. Samosas and spring rolls for lunch with tea were OK but we wanted to come back for dinner to enjoy the view and gardens again. The waiter said there was no need to book a table even though it was Saturday night....

Penang ,a Unesco Heritage is my top favourite city, famous for its world class but non costly authentic cuisine . Penang hill was a true gem. It could be reached by funicular. The nature around it was lovely. Now back to the hotel, it is the only hotel known on the hill, has old Beitish building design, overlookng Penang bridge and...

What do you want from a hotel, a super experience staying at that hotel, or adequate accommodation at a destination that allows you to do the activities unique to that place? Both, of course, if possible. The Bellevue is the only hotel on Penang Hill (maybe that's the problem) but it does have superb views and a sense of history....

The hotel is a throwback to the 1970s. Old decorations and ornaments. its a quiet, laid-back place that has a rather musty nostalgic air. The view is as good as ever, but Penang Hill is not particularly chilly nowadays - nighttime temperatures did not drop below 22 deg C and did not make up for the lack of airconditioning. A...

Read this for best info of our Penang Hill stay. We stayed mid week in late March 2014 at this hotel to try it out for a couple of nights. To get up here to stay, I would recommend you keep your luggage else where down in Penang. Thats what we did. Othervise, you will need to get up using...
