The place is clean, staffs are extremely friendly, bed is comfortable enough. For such a price, you have nothing more to ask for. The place is near Little India, at a busy street and bustling with activities. Expect to be noisy. For people who can sleep easily like me, I have no problems. Restaurants and places to eat are within... More

Cocoa Mews was an okay place to stay. The owners had no control over it, but unfortunately, there is an extremely noisy mosque nearby that broadcasts its prayers over loudspeakers at 6 in the morning, as well as at three other times during the day. Staying here essentially gave me insomnia as every time I fell asleep comfortably, I would... More

Clean place, friendly staff, who are very knowledgable about surrounding attractions, AC was nice and cool in the rooms, rooms did have thin walls though, and the stairs isn't the most quiet. Free tea in the mini kitchen, but no lounge. Outside there are some chairs to lounge, but that is it. In the heart of town.

The staff at Cocoa Mews are excellent, they went so far out of our way to make sure we saw the best George Town has to offer we ended up on a personal street food tour that taught us more about more about the history of George Town than any guide book could and gave us a real insight in... More

We stayed overnight in Cocoa Mews and one thing we really love about the place is its location. Right smack in the middle of countless eateries, shops and laundry places! The interior is really clean and the toilet is well maintained. No problem with our stay. Highly satisfactory for what we paid.

We got a cheap deal here with Airasia Go. My room was clean and comfy, the bathrooms were average but still very clean. The owner was amazing, he was very friendly and helpful and connected us to Mr Heng who took us Island hopping on a private boat for an incredibly low price. Overall my experience in this hostel was... More

We stayed in Penang for two weeks. The staff were very friendly and helpful! And the location was awesome! It's in the middle of Little India. Indian food there was great! The private room we stayed in was clean, It's cute and simple. It's just WiFi sometimes doesn't work. But the place was great anyway! They even have this cute... More

The rooms are clean and well priced, its a hostel so you definitely can't expect a luxurious experience but for a quiet, nice place to spend a few nights, with a great set of people at the front desk to help you plan your stay in Penang you cant go wrong! Plus the patio is a great place to have... More

Ive traveled SE Asia for 4 months now but this is in the top of worse accommodations so far. Look at my other reviews and normally I'm very happy and positive about accommodations/tours etc. Tho this one should be mentioned to prevent other travelers the disappointment that me and my partner experienced. Six weeks beforehand (due to Christmas) we booked... More
