I stayed for 4 nights in Nov '16. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The hostel facilities are good with a great showers! The hostel is in a great location with many cafes and bars nearby. Most attractions in Georgetown are a short walk away. Very good value hostel including breakfast. Recommended.

Ryokan was the best hostel in Penang. I had been there 3-5 times in this 3 years. It was a budget hostel and it located in the middle of George Town. The hostel near the heritage side and street food and cafe. Good environment and clean bathroom. The hostel have a great breakfast every morning too. All the staff was... More

Ryokan was the best hostel I have stayed during my Malaysian trip. The hostel is located in the heart of Penang. You can reach all sights easily by foot. The location on a side street in the world heritage quarter makes it to a comfortable oasis. The great breakfast changes every day. But at the end, Mac makes the hostel... More

I had doubt to have reserved an hostel too much fancy for my backpacker trip, but this is one is simply formidable: more clean than an hospital, very well furnished (simply but fine) staff super friendly, well working wifi and chilling area. Breakfast is free buffet, good and plentiful. All that for a price lower than the average in the... More

I stayed in a private room as a solo traveller for 2 nights. Staff on reception were helpful, the breakfast was good, and changed on both days giving it a bit of variety. Clean place in a very good location, just around the corner from Love Lane where the bars are, but far enough not to hear to noise. It... More
