The hotel exudes an old world charm that is truly appealing and serene. Staffs are friendly and ready to help. Room comes with simple breakfast of bread and butter (jam) with 3 in 1 coffee / tea. The restaurant adjoining the hotel serves awesome food and prices are reasonable too. One can take a stroll along the beach and you... More

Budget hotel for Backpackers and Bachelors... The hotel is located off Gurney Drive road by the sea and can be difficult to find. Spacious room with old furniture and basic facilities which give homely feel like back in 60/70's. The building itself has its own story to tell and i love the huge living room and the old bungalow itself.

Location hard to find. We drive around this area for few times before we managed to locate it. It's a one-way street, so if miss the turning, have to make a big turn, traffic can be heavy during peak hours. Hotel is old. Lots of mosquitoes at night. Room and bathroom got ants. Bed not comfy although room size is... More

Just wish I could give this a zero! Even the taxi driver laughed when we gave him the address at the airport. Its well past its sell by date and either needs demolishing or having loads of money thrown at it to bring it into the 21st century. The bed had dirty sheets with dog hairs all over it, the... More

Friendly staff, affordable at RM81.00 per double room, very big room, no TV, wifi not easy to access..50 m to beach, seafood restaurant just outside the hotel, Ocean Green Restaurant, packed at night, delicious food, prices moderate, recommended for low-budget travellers...like the room, hate the wifi..

Quite a quirky little colonial abode. The rooms were hit and miss. We asked for one near the front of the house after seeing some of the others. Nice airy mansion-like place with pictures on the walls of past ghosts ... an atmosphere only Georgetown can evoke. Staff were really friendly. What should turn off most people without a car... The hotel is convenient for taking the ferry. Though it is on the beach, but the beach is very dirty(Fishermen beach) The hotel maintains its charm. The rooms are clean, but there is no room service. You need to take your shoes out when you enter the rooms lobby. The roof is tall and fans are quite old and noisy.... More

..... But the beach seafood restaurant is JUST EXCELLENT. I did not stay in the hotel ( see previous review of the Banana) but was taken to the beach restaurant for lunch by some local friends. What can be better on a sunny day than good friends, the sea, fishing boats at anchor, beach and splendid food? We brought our... More

An old colonial hotel, which retains its charm, despite being quite basic. It is not centrally located but a bus gets you into Georgetown in less than 10 minutes. The rooms are large, with high ceilings, big flimsy doors and clean, old candlewick bedspreads. Ours ( no. 5) facing the sea had its view obscured by its separate (and expensive)... More
