Overall is ok. Hotel is a bit old. Near to local food restaurant. Massage centre is around there. No lift in the hotel but it's just 2 floor building. Rooms for 4 person is too small if you're bringing big size baggage. Price is acceptable. Suitable for young guys for short stay.

We were doubting between a hostel more in the center of georgetown and this hotel, the swimming pool ultimately influenced our decision. The disadvantage is that it's a bit outside of the town center (about 30 min walk or 10RM taxi ride). We booked a standard room which in our case was a clean and spacious double room with aircon....

The hotel was nice, but this time lacking the personal touch I remember from staying here years ago. They expected a 200 ringgit deposit on arrival and on check out they deducted a "Penang tax" despite the booking site I used stating that all taxes were included. The rooms are nice and the beds are comfortable, but it can be...

1926 is a good decent hotel with good location and friendly staff. I believe its an integral part of the the Penang heritage dating back to ... 1926 of course. Plus point - good location, clean room, friendly and helpful staff (room for improvement), reasonably priced ... all that housed in a nicely restored building with age-old wooden floors and...

This is an interesting place to stay and has a bit of history to make it that bit different. Long corridors with wooden floors sets the tone. Accommodation is simple, comfortable and clean. Not too much noise from other occupants. Suggest a first floor room. About 20 mins walk to the historical areas and a few good restaurants close by....

Hotel was good with historical building. It's so vintage! Location was near to the central and some restaurants. Room hotel is clean and all the stuffs inside the room are also vintage. Liked it! A bit spooky at the night when i walked alone along the corridor. But, it's never mind.

The columns along the balconies still portrays the old architectural heritage of the building. Charges are reasonable and rooms are clean. But some rooms are old and not soundproof. There is a common area with chess sets on tables and chalkboard for children to doodle.

The hotel is about a 15 min. walk from the center of Georgetown. If our room had been a bit larger (it was rather small), we would have given 5 stars, as everything else was excellent, esp. the lovely swimming pool and the very friendly and professional staff. Right nearby in Jalan Burma are 2 excellent hawker-centers with absolutely fabulous...
