This hotel is definitely in need of a little updating (think 70's/80's decor) but provides good value and an excellent location. We got a clean and comfortable double room for about 88 RM (a weekend night), which dropped to around 80 RM during the week. The guys at reception aren't the most lively and welcoming bunch, but not to worry.... More

Well this place looks like it hasn't been updated for a while but for the price it is good value. The reception staff were great, the rooms are big (but basic) the AC is good and it is in a great location.

Basic but spacious rooms (we had a family room in the corner). we stayed with 2 kids, easy access to all the city. The staff is very helpful. We forgot cloths when we left and contacted them 1 month after. They had kept everything and send it back to us in Europe. Amazing honesty very appreciated !

We arrived in Georgetown at 5am after a long journey from Melaka. Stupidly we had not booked a hostel ahead and so spent over an hour walking the deserted streets in the dark looking for a double room. Every hostel we tried was full and so we consulted the lonely planet for their recommeded midrange hotels and decided to try... More

This hotel is located very close to the heritage site. The family room we were given had a fabulous view of the city. We were able to see the Penang bridge from our room. The toilets could use some improvement the flush in ours was not functioning properly. The staff did not do much to resolve that issue other than... More

I went into the backpacker places in Chulia and the rooms were overpriced and hideous. I had a cold which kept others awake and I also wanted a/c and my own bathroom so happened upon this hotel, it was in the LP so even though it looked shabby I checked it out. It was good enough. Great location and helpful... More

My daughter and I were shown a nice room but put into one with rusting bath and tired looking deco. On returning late at night, cockroaches were crawling on the drinking glasses and my bed! The air condition was turned off in the middle of the night and the stuffy air woke us up. Complaints to the reception staff the... More

I went to Penang with my friends from KL for a weekend. We had not booked the hotel but when we went to the hotel, there were a lot of rooms available. The first room shown to us was filthy...it even had a glass full of tea which had been there for many days... after informing the reception about it,... More
