A few things were a little below par - cleanliness of chalet for example, but the staff were lovely and helpful, and the sunset views were gorgeous. Meet the hornbills every day over breakfast, and be sure to order some barbecue specials from the chef in the morning which he will go to collect fresh from the market. Intimate little place, walking distance of other amenities like some restaurants, bars, souvenir shops, taxi rank, soon to be duty free shop etc. Very enjoyable stay - worth the small expense to get the chalet rooms - such a beautiful view and convenient for beach, pool, and restuarant.

A very nice place to stay and have a vacation with family. Sadly, received one of the rooms that reeks of cat pee maybe because of the carpeted floor. Wanted to change room but that day all the rooms were fully booked. The staff did help by spraying air refresher by masking it bur also a fail. TV remotes didnt function properly. Breakfast was okay, room amenities were okay, water pressure was bad. Its very good place as it is strategic but please improve on the mentioned things.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking time to give us your review. Regret that you felt there was cat pee in the room, just for your info pets are not allowed in the room, besides there are no stray cats or dogs in our premises. Nevertheless we will find the cause of the smell. Would have appreciated if you have mentioned to our receptionist about the faulty tv remote and low water pressure. Our staffs could rectify it immediately. Anyway thank your for some of your positive comments, glad you have enjoyed your stay. Regards.

I’ve been hesitant to visit Pulau Pangkor because of the bad reviews of hotels and resorts being old, unkept, poor services, low water pressure during peak period, rubbish, etc, etc. Some turned out to be quite true. There are 2 new resorts being built which I think can change the landscape and perception of Pulau Pangkor in due time….I hope. After a 4-hour drive from KL via the west coast road, we parked at Island Marina Resort covered car park which costs RM20 per day…they include the day you arrive & the day you depart…not the norm we encounter. Ferry was indeed a 10-minute ride. We can even see Pangkor Island across from the jetty. Upon arrival in Pulau Pangkor, we rented a Kancil “toy car” for RM70 a day. My son called it a toy car because it’s small…but good enough to get us around on the light traffic roads in Pulau Pangkor. Do insist to view the vehicle before you pay up. You may not get what the owner tells you. However, most islanders/locals I encountered in Pulau Pangkor are friendly. Pangkor Sandy Beach Resort was an exception. Although the resort is not a cheaper one compared to others in Pulau Pangkor, it is well kept, well maintained. Room is clean. We checked in at 4pm…so check-in was a breeze. I was surprised to note that occupancy was high despite school holiday is just over. Bathroom towels are clean, 2-bed Super Deluxe room is spacious, water supply is normal. I’m satisfied with what we had booked. Rooms has dual access, one via the corridor, and the other from the front sliding door. Mosquitoes are nothing new to us Malaysians…so we are prepared. To other visitors, do bring extra mosquitoes’ spray…otherwise, buy one from the stores nearby before dusk. The resort has direct access to the beach although it’s a public beach. Sea water is clear, sand is soft and nice. Swimming pool size is just perfect for kids. Not too big…not small neither. It is also within walking distance to restaurants, souvenir shops & convenient stores. A night stroll is a welcoming change for city folks like us. It is very pleasant. We dropped by the mart to get some juices and snacks and relaxed ourselves near the beach. However, the seems to be a lot of plastic everywhere. This is a real disappointment. I noted that rubbish discarded everywhere were the accountability of the locals more than visitors. I personally witnessed several locals/islanders simply throw rubbish onto the ground and sea. I felt ashamed that Malaysians behaved like that. For goodness sake, there’s a proper waste management system on the island. Don’t spoil your beautiful beach and ocean!! Breakfast is something I felt Pangkor Sandy Beach Resort had to improve on. Having said that, I happened to chance upon the resort owner and he defended the breakfast by saying : 1. Breakfast is complimentary. 2. I don’t want to waste food. Well, readers, I leave it to you to ponder about his comment. The best thing we enjoyed during our breakfast was the feeding of Hornbills. There was a pair of Hornbills perched on the tree just next to the breakfast area and the resort staff threw some beans/grains …and the birds would catch it with their beaks. Lastly, my family & I had a good time in Pangkor Sandy Beach Resort.

Had a wonderful stay at this small relaxed hotel. Good sized rooms, comfortable beds, functioning facilities, quiet aircon and a good breakfast is a standard. Staff were charming & helpful. The location facing the beach is far superior to alternatives on the island. But the big plus here is the beautiful floral garden which attracted a lot of songful birds. None of the other similar priced hotels had such a pleasant outdoor space surrounding the excellent central swimming pool. The small restaurant opened onto the beach with a great sea view of the bay & sunsets. We had dinner there several times, food was excellent and chef will buy in fresh fish if you let him know beforehand. Eating there with the great view was a highlight of our stay. This hotel was by far the best place to stay on Pangkor island. Really enjoyed, thanks so much !

This is a great place to visit, very chilled and well maintained with a great pool and ocean views. A special mention for the catering and specifically for their Saturday night barbeque with local seafood and other ingredients in a South Asian / Pangkor Island fusion. It was quiet and pleasant during the week and a bit noisier on the weekend but didn't get too bad. The weekend stream of visitors to the water activities was a bit of extra entertainment. Good value.
