Great place to unwind. Staff were generally attentive and well trained. Rooms were clean and spacious. Grounds were well kept. The resort is large enough to Ensure that that everyone can feel relaxed. There are several places to dine and generally, the food is of a good standard with the exception of the Chinese restaurant where it can best be... More

My wife and myself came to stay at this resort for our 30th wedding anniversary in July and from the moment we arrived we were made to feel special. When we entered our room the bed was made up with flower petals with happy anniversary and a free bottle of wine. The hotel staff are what makes this place extra... More

We stayed on Pangkor Laut in November 2015 for our wedding anniversary. We were upgraded to a sea villa and this definitely added to our holiday. The seas villas are very peaceful and you get the benefit of enjoying the adults only spa and pool area so it's very quiet. For the most part the staff were very friendly and... More

Pangkor was full of highs and lows. First the lows, since they're more useful feedback. Firstly, the use of plastic. From bottled water everywhere and no refill stations, to plastic bottles for the shampoo/conditioner/body wash amenities rather than pumps on the wall, this was not a place that is low-impact or eco. Some staff said they recycle the bottles but... More

Dear Madsme, Thank you so much for taking the time to visit us recently and for writing such a detailed review of your experience. My husband and I stayed at Pangkor Laut for 12 nights this July. We had a lovely stay but felt that some aspects of the resort didn’t meet the standards of a five star hotel. One point that I think is important to note: I think the marketing of this hotel is slightly misleading, it is frequently presented as a... More

Dear msy24, Thank you so much for taking the time to visit us recently and for writing such a detailed review of your experience. I am sorry that the usual ambiance was altered due to the busiest local holiday of the year, Hari Raya, and that there were more children than usual. As you mention, we have many areas that... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Pangkor Laut is a privately owned island located three miles off the West Coast of Malaysia along the Straits of Malacca. This piece of paradise has been 2 million years in the making, and here you will find one of the world's premier resorts nestling in the shade of forest giants as old as the land. You will find no other resorts - just secluded bays curled around pristine beaches, evening skies woven with colour, and a deep sense of serenity reserved exclusively for our guests. A combination of luxury, natural beauty and age-old wilderness woven together to produce an environment where peace and magically memorable moments are the currency. Of the island's 300 acres, only a fraction has been developed to house the Resort and its eight Estates. Wooden buildings blend seamlessly into the forest as if nature had been the architect dictating how walls curve around foliage, and roofs open up to allow trees to continue on their journey to the sky. Nature is respected here, almost revered, and it rewards visitors in ways that simply need to be experienced. ... more   less
