The rooms are not any special, but at least they have windows… other "guest house" in KB, even being more expensive don't have windows. Shared toilet, and very scary looking :D you will prefer to do your "needs" in the street :D When the Chinese is sleepy, the "guest house" will be closed, and after that you will not be... More

Very simple and a bit old rooms but very big and with big windows. M. Kang is very nice and the wifi is very good. For 30 Rm/ night (2 people), it's a very good deal in Kota Bharu...even if you have to pay 1 Rm for a roll of toilet paper !

It was kinda hard to find this place, since its hidden behind a big luxury hotel. The staff are chinese and can speak english. The room was clean enough (RM15!!!) and the area was quiet at night. A good place for the small budget!

The place is OK since it's quite cheap! BUT the owners of the ideal traveller's house are BAD, especially the son! Be CAREFULL when they want to drive you somewhere. the fee is quite expensive ! They charge you more! Be carefull!

We decided to stay at this place, based on recommendations regardless of the terrible reviews we could find on different websites. Well, that was the right choice. The location is just right. A few minutes from the night market, the central market and the bus terminal. And one minute from very nice stalls at night. The set-up of the guesthouse... More

in the three years since the last review this place seems to have suffered a bomb or two, the rooms are in need of some work, the toilet/shower is a disgrace and the beds need throwing out along with all the mouldy pillows, linen and torn curtains. Honestly, it's a dump and the friendly owners don't seem to notice the... More

The Ideal Traveller's Guest House describes itself on its website as "an obsolete winner"...and it truly is. It's a haven of tranquility and comfort in the centre of Malaysia's Islamic capital, Kota Bharu. The breakfasts are fantastic and the owners are some of the friendliest people in South East Asia. We were a bit baffled by the terrapins in washing... More
