Wai was amazing, she really made an effort and was a great host and company. The rooms were clean and simple and I it was just a small group of us where we went for dinner together and drove a car around lankawi which was fun. I would say that I liked it because of the people around me and...

The location is perfect to chill out, away from the touristy areas of the island. The owner (Wijay) knows the island like the back of his hand and will give you the best recommendations for places to visit. There is a nice social area at the reception where everybody chills, Wijay also tries to get everybody together and organises visits...

The most comfortable and relaxed hostel I stayed in Malaysia. It felt like I was staying at the friend's place, not a hostel - which is a rarity these days compared to an average come and go/ high guest turnover hostel. My stay on the island was essentially stress and hustle free thanks to Wijay who provided a really good...

I enjoyed my stay at Sarong Hostel. I was there for a couple of nights and found that it was a cheap base from which to explore the island. The hostel itself is pretty basic but has everything you will need - comfortable beds, clean showers and good wifi. The owner, Wijay, is friendly and when each guest arrives, sits...

Summary: Very basic and very clean place with one of the friendliest and helpful owners. Detail: Dorm beds, 38/43RM per person and night. Beer is just 3RM. Nice open space to eat food, talk. WiFi available. Very clean wc, showers, actually one of the cleanest I have seen in Malaysia so far. Best thing: Wijay. The guy knows everything about...

I AM SO SO GLAD I STAYED HERE... it is a pretty good but standard backpacker hostel with no glitz or glam... clean with comfy beds & a nice social area to meet people... I have to say that it stands out for one particularly amazing reason... Wijay the manager. He is such a sound guy, friendly, full of fun...

Overall great stay. If you're looking to find some bars to drink in then it's not ideal as there aren't any for a 10/15 minute drive, but that's OK as you extremely close to some of the island's best attractions (cable car, waterfalls, highest point of the mountain...). Weejay is a fantastic host and deserves every single nice review he...

It's a very good place to stay a few nights while discovering the beautiful island of Langwaki. Wijay, the owner its a very friendy guy that really cares about your stay on the island and help you out on any single need you have, from helping you renting a scooter to telling you the best spots on the island. Sarong guesthouse was one of my best backpacking experiences ever: Wijay, the owner, explained me all the sights and nice places of Langkawi, helped me to rent a scooter and also gave lots of tipps what to do and where and how to travel on. But what it really made so special was that he took me on one evening...

Sarong Hostel is a great hostel with a kind of homestay-character/feel to it (in a good way). The owner has been travelling himself and he knows what backpackers are looking for: a affordable place to stay with airconditioning, good wifi, a nice common area for socializing and somebody who gives you all the tips and trics of the island. I...
