Turned up here on spec when booked accommodation not satisfactory. Staff happy to show us room and facilities before we checked in. Gave us better rate than websites. Amazing rooms in old Malay/Chinese houses that have been imported. Don't expect modern decor as its all in keeping with properties. Having said that beds very comfortable. Bathrooms clean with rain shower... More

This is a real treat and not a `typical` beach resort location. The heritage village setting provides a sense of place and atmosphere. The facilities reflect the mix of modern and heritage. If you want a large bathroom - try Colonial 1!! The Straits Club, also an old house, is equally full of atmosphere, especially in the evening when having... More

Accomodation is in old Malaysian houses complete with dirt and bugs. I have osteoarthritis in my back and the bed was so hard that I could not sleep. The floor would have been more comfortable. The pool was only waist deep and did not have any steps into it so I had to get down on my hands and knees... More

Perfect accommodation for us with our two adult children. Two bathrooms and two bedrooms. Perfect breakfast delivered every night to be stored in the fridge. Mosquito nets for all the beds that were turned down every night as well. Plenty of spray available but we never heard one and never got bitten. The pools are perfect too. Nice long lap... More

Is have stayed ins Bon Ton - the sister resort next door - and the difference between the 2 is minimal in my opinion. The decor and ambience is a match and the pool here is better than next door I would say! Great place, great staff, breakfast perfect and all in all a faultless stay!

The room is spacious and stylish. We found few lizards on the roof but the room was very clean. Overall, I recommend Temple Tree but if you want to have a hotel with private beach etc try other hotels.

You will either love it or dislike it, depending on what you want. Here are some guide to help you decide if this is the place for you. I loved the place - the setting, the small touches such as the umbrellas and slippers, the sarong. It's comfortable. I read some reviews about dust - I can understand if the... More

I stayed here for one night, which is all the time I had in Langkawi, unfortunately. The architecture of the individual houses and estates is beautiful, and the staff are friendly and accommodating. I loved the relaxed vibe, privacy, and non- "big resort" feel. Huge plus for me as someone who works with animals for a living: they support the... More

Dear krinets8, Thank you for your lovely review. We're happy to read that you have the same passion for animals as we have! Part of the profits of both Bon Ton and Temple Tree is going to our shelter Lassie. We try to design our rooms so that you feel right at home :) We do hope you have the... More

I will have to say that all reviewers bad or good are right . However , how one enjoys this resort or not is totally dependant on yourself and those travelling with you . The cons ( for me ) 1. It is not next to the beach ( but neither is the super expensive Seri Chenang next door. You... More

Stay in Black and White house . This beautiful Malay House was built in the 1920s in Mantin in the state of Negeri Sembilan, south of Kuala Lumpur. It’s a complete house with a living / dining area, and a great outdoor porch, perfect for writing that book. A huge bedroom with wooden bathtub and a seperate bathroom. The coloured... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Though classified as B&B/Inn, Temple Tree is actually more of a boutique resort of many cultures, an eclectic mix of heritage chic...Antique buildings of Chinese, Malay, Indian and Eurasian origin, make up this 8 villa hotel, with 8 rooms & 6 suites now open. Each building has, over its 70-110 year old history, created its own heart and soul. Hopefully we have given due respect to each of these family homes with the restoration process. These houses are now the continuing story of people who live in them, our guests. ... more   less
