4/5 star resort; we add 1/2 star for culture. Resort luxury plus sensitively retained forest. Nature and culture feel right here, along with a huge shelf of books, honesty bar, yummy breakfast with suggested charity donations, and a great pool. The ambience is marvelous and inspiring.

What an amazing second time around. Visited 1st in Feb 2020. We returned from our 2nd visit and its truly a sanctuary for us. Love the villa over the tree tops. Fabulous breakfast, the pool, the greenery around the villas and the staff are just superb. Everything is well kept and well thought of. Hopefully to be back soon. Best of luck!

Unbelievable. One of the best stays I think we’ve ever had. Tranquil, beautiful setting on the hillside, with spectacular views across the island, and centrally located so you can easily get anywhere. Reinhold is an outstanding host, and all of the staff are warm, friendly and very welcoming. The facilities are superb; a beautiful infinity pool to refresh after a hot day exploring the island, delicious breakfasts, complementary water station which works seamlessly, great reading and rest area with hammocks….honestly the list could go on and on. The little lodge we stayed in was spotlessly clean, private, very modern and well maintained, and a stunning veranda area to sit and watch the wildlife and enjoy a drink. Thank you so much for making our week long stay such a special one, from the moment we arrived to the moment we sadly departed. We will be back!!

Ranis Lodge is a delight; a well tended and perfectly presented small group of villas nestling on the hill slopes. You are away from the busy parts of the island but close enough to enjoy everything that they have to offer. A car or scooter will enable you to retreat into this oasis, float in the infinity pool, or swing nonchalantly from the hammock in the bale with juice or beer in hand from the honesty bar. Animal sounds and not traffic will be your gentle wake-up call in super clean accommodation with private balcony with great views. Breakfast prepared by the owner sets you up for another day in Elysium.

We stayed here almost a week in July and it was absolutely fantastic. We stayed in one of the Rimba villas that are down in the jungle. The villa was clean and superb and we enjoyed every aspect of it. One of the best parts was the shy monkeys that loomed around in the trees above and next to the villa. It was interesting to wonder them from the shower’s window. The lodge area was also really beautiful and felt like you were properly immersed in the nature. The small jungle walkway from the Rimba villas to the pool/breakfast area was a nice touch. Breakfast prepared by Reinhold was just amazing and so tasty. Staying here was definitely the highlight of our 1 month Malaysia trip!

We had a wonderful time at Ranis Lodge! They truly understand hospitality. It is quite secluded so I would recommend renting a car. The view is amazing! There are so many beautiful birds and flowers. Reinhold cooks a different breakfast every morning and all were delicious! He goes out of his way to make your stay a comfortable one! A nice infinity pool to cool down in and a relax area with hammocks . I highly recommend Ranis Lodge to anyone going to Langkawi!

Ranis Lodge is one of the best accommodation I've stayed at. I highly recommend it to anyone going to langkawi. What made the stay wonderful was 1) A lovely designed villa (we stayed at Along) with all the amenities you could ask for including a kitchen, well equipped shower (indoor and outdoor), wide screen TV, and very comfortable bed 2) The views, especially from the top of the property, we're spectacular all day, but especially at sunrise. There could be no better way to start the day 3) Reinhold is an amazing chef. The breakfast every morning was lovely and for a great cause (all payments for breakfast are up to the guests and goes to a local charity) 4) Anis and Reinhold are the warmest hosts. We always felt at home in their place and they provided great recommendations too. It felt like we'd made new friends in our short stay there 5) there's lots of interesting wilidlife in the grounds including sunbirds, butterfly lizards, and even a short visit from. The dusky leaf monkeys and two hornbills. Though this also means more dragonflies and ants around the property but that's all part of the experience of being in nature 6) the shared facilities are lovely too, with a gorgeous infinity pool and a lovely hangout area with hammocks I can't wait to go back to Ranis Lodge with the whole family next. It's truly the next level of hospitality and personal touches, coupled with a lovely property that sets this apart from every other 4* or 5* hotel on the island

Stayed here at Anis and Reinhart mid February. What an amazing home and a little heaven. Enjoyed every bit of it, from pool, to the view to the villa and the breakfast. Both Anis and Reinhart have been most accommodating and kind, from recommendations to checking on us making sure we have everything we needed during our stay. The Villa- Fully equipped kitchen with full size fridge, cooking hobs, utensils and cutlery. Separate living room, with comfy sofa n TV. Separate bedroom with King size bed and very spacious. Floor to ceiling wardrobe between the bedroom and bathroom, plenty of cloth hangers and drawers for your clothing. Bathroom complete with indoor and outdoor shower, great combination, love the outdoor shower after a hot day out. Love the very high quality shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion......plenty of it! Balcony over looking the canopy of the mature trees, furnished with table and chairs for your outdoor dining, as well as sun loungers. Breakfast- Served every day except Saturday. 2 choices to choose from every day and pre-order the night before recommended. Breakfast is Not part of your stay but donations welcomed. Brilliant initiative sponsoring local kids to further education with your donations. Well done in giving back to the community...10 out of 10 for that. Other facilities - Brilliant infinity pool over looking down the hill. Plenty of sun loungers, a shower and public toilets nearby. There is also a common area with hammocks and honesty bar, and books, brilliant covered building to escape the scorching heat. Seperate dining area where breakfast is served. There are parking area mid hill for your rented car during your stay. Very easy access to the secured and fenced in resort with electronic gate. Love this resort, everything you could have asked for. Highly recommend and will stay here again in a heart beat!

To me Langkawi is paradise on earth and Ranis Lodge is the perfect place to stay and enjoy a piece of paradise. The hosts, Anis and Reinhold are perfect, available to offer any assistance or advice required and have created a beautiful small resort. The villas are beautiful, well decorated and equipped. Breakfast available 6 days a week for a donation which goes to a local charity. The pool and sunbeds are a great place to relax after a day sightseeing and enjoying the island. The resort is in a remote location, car or scooter hire recommended

We SO enjoyed staying here. Fantastic breakfasts, a beautiful view in the morning, clean and spacious suites, and the wonderful family running the whole thing makes it very special. We could easily have stayed longer to really get the most out of it. It's tucked away up a hill and away from the main towns but you can get Grab cars just fine (sometimes had to walk down the short hill to meet them) and the journey is easy enough by car or motorbike to get to places like Chenang beach front - 20 mins or so. It's even easier to get to the airport - only around 15 mins.
