The chalets are laid out so that each chalet is very private and I stayed right on the beach. There is a little sitting area outside which is lovely to watch the surf and the palm trees. Inside it is dark and dingy with a moldy smell if you do not put on the air conditioner. The shower is wonderful...

I stayed here on two different occasions about 10 weeks apart when offshore of Morondava. I didn't have to pay for my room on either occasion, so I cannot comment on the price, but every other aspect was absolutely amazing. Beds were comfortable and clean, hot water in the shower was a bit hit or miss, but hey... didn't bother...

Great location, we had a chalet by the beach. Comfortable room. Good food (although set menu and not a la carte) let down by unwillingness to provide early breakfast (ie it was left out overnight so coffee and hot water was no longer hot and bread was stale) for our long journey to Antsirabe. Laundry service surprisingly expensive. Good for...

I'm writing this review just after my first night in this hotel. The room is very basic and old. The A/C is so noisy that you must choose whether you want to sweat while sleeping or stay cool, but not sleep. The breakfast is super expensive for Madagascar and on the photo you can see the content of the local...

Without being hotel guests, they helped us with great dedication and sensitivity to arrange our travel to Belo sur Mer (in other places we had been refused until the next day). They worked efficiently to provide alternatives and contacts, and make the necessary arrangements. Even they resolved a conflict that arose with the canoeist we had to pick in Velo....

The rooms were nice enough and a good size. The manager was not very flexible. They did not have room for our driver (most hotels offer the driver a room to sleep in) and what was offered was not very nice. Then they would not let the driver wash our car! Very disappointing. Furthermore the restaurant was not opened.

Lovely little wooden bungalows either fronting the beach or set amid sculpted gardens behind. each with an individual terrace area with chairs out. Fairly basic rooms but have paid more for much worse, overall loved the place. Beautiful restaurant building with open decks overlooking the beach. Found the beach itself a disappointment - locals use the beach as a toilet...

The bungalows here are basic but the ones fronting on the beach have wonderful views, especially #10. Well maintained gardens around the property. The food is excellent, especially the seafood, and the manager and wait staff very friendly. Wifi in the rooms.

Our bungalow sat right on the beach. The walk to our room is quite pleasant with all the pretty landscaping. Our room had AC and a little deck we could sit on and enjoy the view. They also give you a wifi password. They have nets on all beds. The power went out during the early morning and I woke...

While most guests stay here for a couple of nights, I was fortunate to stay here for about a month while working in Madagascar. I also stayed in the Pallisandre Cote Oest so feel I can compare the two for 'Value for Money' The Renala is one of the oldest hotels in Morondava and the bungalows are showing their age....
