What a terrible road but what a sight for sore weary eyes. Wonderful setting amid the tea plantation and lake. We were lucky to have a bungalow over the water. 2 ringtail lemurs added to the wonderful atmosphere. Breakfast was good. Internet was decent. I wish we stayed longer.

We had the hotel to ourselves! We stopped off here on our return journey to Tana. Hadn't noted that its a good 45 minutes out of the city! Staff were very friendly and came in especially to cook us dinner/breakfast. Room was cosy - 2 single beds and a mezzanine with a double bed which we didn't use - good... More

1 hr away from Fianarantsoa in a really nice and peaceful area. The best choice if you're keen on the tea plantation or if you plan to ride the train. It saves you sleep in the morning and the staff is well organised to handle your trips. Some rooms are really cool, the small cabin in the tree and the... More

visited this hotel as part of a tour.set in nice gardens with cabin type rooms encircling them this was a very relaxing place. the restaurant served nice meals and the waiters were attentive . some rooms are actually built into the lake, giving good views.the reason for the title of this review is that if you do take your cat you... We got lucky here and got an upgrade to a lake view room. Recommended. The hotel has a nice garden and the bungalow is spacious with good facilities. Nice terrace to relax after a long day in the car. The restaurant serves very nice food. Probably one of the best i had in Madagascar. Perfect location to get to the... More

We had a delightful lunch visit to the Lac Hotel Restaurant. A total surprise to us after driving through rural villages. A stunning setting, sat outside overlooking the villas next to the lake. Wished we could have stayed overnight or longer as truly lovely setting and great service.

We had a very nice 3 day stay in the train wagon in the garden. The wagon had a lovely big bedroom with a good bed, a huge bathroom and a nice little living room in the middle. The garden is great to wander around in. Unfortunately there was not much water in the lake in November, but there was... More

There are quite a few Km on bumpy tracks to get there but it’s a nice place to spend one night. It is necessary to make sure that there are rooms or bungalows available because it is often overcrowded. The gardens surrounding the main hotel are really beautiful, the bungalows above the lake are very large and comfortable, the basic... More

We came from hell after the nightmare train trip FCE and had the impression to arrive in paradise at Lac Hôtel! The bungalow was very comfy with a bottle of water in it. The food at dinner and breakfast (good omelet again!) was of quality. But the most notable attraction there is the garden and the lake of course! We... More

Only stayed one night in this hotel, thank goodness. The rooms in the main hotel may have been very nice but we stayed in the annexe even further down the track by the side of the lake. Our room was about the size of an average garage with a poor bathroom. The lake was either dried up or silted up.... More
