11 of us travelled to Babaomby to windsurf/kitesurf in the waves and had an amazing time. Great conditions, good equipment, great food, incredibly friendly and helpful staff. We will definitely return next year.

We didn't really know what to expect of babaomby island lodge so we only booked for three nights. After one day of being there we knew that three days would not be enough. Nicolas made it possible for us to stay three additional nights. The place is very beautiful. The staff is very friendly. The food was really good, with fresh fish every day. Portions were very big. For kite surfing it was really amazing! The color of the sea is so beautiful. The wind was very strong. You have flat water and waves, and sometimes you see a turtle popping up :) For us staying at babaomby island lodge was a unique experience which we will remember for a very long time! And we are sure that we will come back to this beautiful place.

This place was an absolute dream for anyone who loves kitesurfing and/or adventure. The way to the island was an adventure in itself and being away from anyone and everyone; having the bluest ocean as your morningview and a backyard being the rest of the island, it is safe to say that you won’t get bored! The tents you stay in get cleaned daily and provide plenty of space; personal tip; bring a mosquito net; cause sometimes those little cheeky guys do manage to get in the tent! Food and overall cleanliness was really good. I personally liked the fact that everyone eats together; so you get to know eachother, but there is enough space aswell to do your own thing. Not being a kitesurfer myself I also really enjoyed walking around the amazing garden and just listening and watching all the animals! Safe to say that anyone can enjoy themselves here! (Oh and seeing the other review); yes bring a french dictionary; saves you from some painful conversations 😂. )

We visited Madagascar for kite boarding and spent two weeks at Babaomby Island Lodge. The place is AMAZING!!! Rooms: The tents structures were a good size. We chose to stay in the garden area for more interaction with the family of lemurs. It was a great decision but bringing ear plugs was a lifesaver since lemurs and other animals were not observing quiet hours. :) The tents were cleaned daily and provided ample room with the nice decks they are built on. Cleanliness: For shared restrooms, showers, etc, cleanliness more than exceeded our expectations. The staff kept restroom areas and common social areas very clean. Staff: The staff is so friendly. One piece of advice is LEARN FRENCH. At least, some French. We were the dumb Americans who assume hotel staff all over the world can speak English. This hotel is in Madagascar where French is the more common language and owned by a French man. Nicolas (the owner who spoke English) was great when he was on-site but we were pretty lost most of the time which was frustrating to us and frustrating to the staff. Not a knock on the hotel. More of a tip and a knock on us for being arrogant Americans who made assumptions. Even with this handicap, the staff were always smiling, saying hello, and made the trip special. Food: We had read reviews that the food was good. That was an understatement. The food was delicious, fresh, and plentiful. Some reviews indicated they needed larger servings so we were nervous and brought a case of Clif Bars to supplement. We ate 2 of them... The serving sizes were very large. Environment: I cannot explain the beauty of this place adequately. It was breathtaking. Every morning was a renewed sense of awe when we entered the common cabana area that overlooks the Emerald Sea. The views alone are worth the trip. The kite boarding was amazing (pro-tip, go in the morning when the wind looks "dead" as that is when the chops are gone and it's buttery smooth with 10m wind). This place is magical and I can't think of a better place to spend two weeks.

It is a wonderful and comfortable place, kind people and good cousine. It is a paradise for the kiters, strong Wind and big Waves out of the Reef and very good support by the boys on the beach. For those Who are not kiters, there are plenty of walks inside the Bush which take you to secret beaches and amazing wiew points.
